Dragon Ball Z: The Core

What if Gohan had a twin sister with the soul and memories of someone who had watched the Dragon Ball Z TV show? That's Hanna, and her goal is to protect Earth. MC is going to attempt to manipulate the canon. This means that even after she gets powerful, she'll be hiding her powers. (This is just a pet project of mine. Don't expect updates to be too regular, and while I have a general idea of where I want the plot to go, I haven't set a plan in stone for it. While the plot will follow the same arcs as the TV show, not all of the movies will be incorporated. By the way, this is MY INTERPRETATION of the canon, so not all information in the story will be completely correct when compared to the official canon.)

Ch. 182: Vegeta Vs. Buu

Unlike Trunks, Tien, and 18, Vegeta wasn't surprised at all by how easily the girl had taken Goten down. Looking around, Goku and Piccolo hadn't blinked either. Essentially, anyone who could sense the absurdly strong divine aura surrounding the girl had expected Goten to lose without a fight.

"She's stronger than a Destroyer..." Piccolo muttered to himself, watching her walk offstage, leaving Goten's unconscious body on the ground behind her.

Vegeta turned to him, scoffing. "And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Look at her waist." He told Piccolo.

"What are- Wait, is that?!" Tien realized what it was with his three-eyed super vision.

"She's a Saiyan. That means that she can probably go Super Saiyan, too..." Trunks realized, trailing off. He'd not expected to win the tournament. He'd figured that his dad, Goku, or Buu would beat him, but seeing this overwhelming power was just unfair.

"Don't worry, son. You'll never get to fight her. After you beat the Namekian, you'll have to face me anyways." Vegeta assured his son.

"No, you'll face Buu!" Buu interjected.

"As if, you fat pink blob." Vegeta brushed Buu off, causing steam to shoot out of Buu's head in anger.

"BUUU!"

"Well, whoever fights whoever, it'll be my turn to fight her next! I hope my fight against her is better than Uncle Goten's!" Pan said cheerily, exiting the waiting area and casually walking into the arena, her name having been announced a moment before while they'd been talking about Hanna.

"Good luck, Pan!" Most of the fighters, including Hanna, called out to her as the seven year old stepped onto the stage beside some big Russian-looking dude.

Despite the differences in height, there wasn't a single person in the crowd calling the fight unfair. Even though they honestly should have. The big guy attempted to pick Pan up and toss her out of bounds, but Pan was fully focused, and therefore unbeatable by a normal person. So, as he grabbed her afterimage, Pan planted a single kick into the poor man's backside, and he flew through the air, getting his head buried in the concrete wall separating the stands from the arena area.

"Umm... Did I kick him too hard?" Pan asked innocently from the stage as the medical team rushed out to verify her opponent's condition. Naturally, though, he was fine. I'd softened the blow a bit to ensure that he didn't suffer permanent damage that might end up weighing on Pan's conscious later.

And thus, my next fight would be me versus Pan.

...

In the first rounds, there were three fights that interested me, besides my own. The first of these fights came up directly after Pan's win, Vegeta versus Buu.

This fight wasn't going to be simple. Buu was indestructible and as strong as a Super Saiyan 3, but Vegeta had full access to his divine aspect now. When you compared the two in terms of power, Vegeta was so far ahead that it was laughable.

As an aside, the other two fights that interested me were Piccolo Vs. Trunks, which would be next, and a later battle of Uub vs. 18. All of the other first round battles involved people who couldn't manipulate their ki, and therefore had exactly zero chances of winning.

Honestly, though, Trunks' chances of winning were pretty close to zero, too. Piccolo's base form, after all, was easily stronger than a regular Super Saiyan without even resorting to the smart tactics that Piccolo was so good at, not to mention his mysterious 'Orange Piccolo' transformation. It was possible that 18's chances of winning were almost nonexistent, too, with Uub having as much or more raw power than Buu, but I had no reference for where Uub's fighting skills were supposed to be right now, while even a rusty 18 was a good match for the average Super Saiyan.

...

"DIE USELESS BLOB!" In true Vegeta fashion, the fight between Buu and Vegeta started off flashy and loud. Unsurprisingly, it seemed that Vegeta had quite a bit of suppressed anger toward Buu, probably due to the fact that Buu'd been responsible for his death once before, that he was clearly using this fight to unleash. The exact moment that the announcer began the fight, Vegeta's hair turned blue and he blinked out of existence for a moment before reappearing in order to punch Buu in the face with a striking uppercut. "BIG BANG ATTACK!"

As Buu flew into the air as a result of Vegeta's uppercut, Vegeta used the chance to charge up one of his most devastating attacks and shoot it straight into the sky at the pink immortal. Knowing how difficult Buu was to kill, Vegeta held nothing back. Power far surpassing what Buu could realistically handle flew through the atmosphere toward him in ball form, detonating the moment it touched Buu's body. The resulting wave of heat and power rippled through the air, making even the people in the stands far below scream in terror as trace amounts of the heat and pressure nearly knocked them off their feet. Naturally, though, Vegeta knew how to control himself. Despite being a bit uncomfortable, nobody other than Buu was actually harmed by the attack.

When the explosion cleared, the sky was completely empty. There was no sign of Buu. Vegeta's Big Bang attack had been far more than he could handle, and his carelessness in allowing it to hit him had caused Buu's body to be completely and utterly destroyed.

"Oh no! Dad!" Trunks exclaimed.

"Oh...kay... Contestant Vegeta's devastating first attack seems to have utterly obliterated Contestant Buu... Folks, never in all my life have I seen such ruthless-" The announcer began to condemn Vegeta for his actions, choking up a bit as the fact that Buu was gone hit him and the rest of the audience, when he was interrupted by a low whine on stage.

As the whine grew in intensity, Trunks realized how dumb he'd been. Meanwhile, everyone in the stands let out a breath they hadn't even realized that they'd been holding.

"BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!"
