"We are entering a new solar system on the second arm Ryumier," the intelligence program announces to the team floating in the large living-room sized control room.
The shuttle's control room has a rectangular glass view to see the outside and there are 4 seats 5 feet apart arranged in a square: Trunks behind Goku make the left side while Pan behind Bulla make the right side.
"Alright," Bulla responds and takes her seat and starts typing on her handheld monitor, "which planet has the atmosphere for fuels?"
"One planet located," it replies.
"Take us closer and zoom in," she instructs.
Suddenly a planet appears on Bulla's handheld monitor, along with information about its diameter and movements.
"Hey girl," Pan hovers beside Bulla and takes a peek at the monitor, "Project it so we can see, too!"
"Yeah, yeah," she fixes the handheld monitor on the tripod and from a black screen not larger than a fingernail, the view of the planet is projected on thin air in high resolution: a hologram.
"Cool," Pan smiles; "Whoa, how did you do that, Bulla?" Goku's amazed.
"You think people live here?"
"Well," Bulla folds her arms, "if the atmosphere is conducive to life, then there might be lifeforms here."
As Pan nods to communicate she understands, the detailed description of the planet's atmospheric composition pops up on the hologram.
"Hm, I see," Bulla smiles, "we're fueling up on this planet, gang. Get ready for touchdown."
They all take their seats and strap on their safety belts for the landing sequence.
Pan smiles, her face brimming with the excitement of exploring a new planet: Omg, this is it... our first landing!
Goku's tummy starts growling, I'm hungry.
Trunks and Bulla who have been on more space missions are more concerned with a smooth landing.
Pan was watching their descent through a panoramic hologram of the live view outside. We- we're landing... eep! Uuh...
She notices something strange on the view: What the heck is that?
The hologram now projects their altitude and steady speed of descent as Bulla inputted but before they reach 30 kilometers a warning symbol appears which Bulla notices but suddenly an unexpected explosion jolts their shuttle, causing them to slam onto the ground.
The red alert lights flash throughout the control room where the 4 are stationed and the intelligence program relays that one of the 4 thrusters is damaged.
"Whoa," Bulla gasps.
"What the heck was that?" Trunks asks.
"I can't believe we crashed like that," Goku looks around, "Is everyone ok?"
They all confirm they're not injured.
"It happened so fast," Bulla says, "I couldn't react in time."
Soon, the red flashing alert lights turn off and the regular white lights engage.
"Don't worry about it girl, it wasn't your fault."
"Two individuals are approaching the shuttle," the intelligence program announces, "they appear armed."
"So they're the ones who shot us down?" Pan frowns as she takes off her safety belt and flies toward the main exit.
"Wait, Pan... you can't just go out there," Bulla calls, "relax and quickly wear your helmet and air supply tanks, too... Don't forget to follow the training!"
"Ah..." she realises her impulsivity, "Right, sorry..." she apologizes before wearing the required items.
The two people who shot down the team's shuttle approach it:
"Bro, this thing is real sturdy," the shorter one says to his partner, "Look, only the thruster we aimed for got affected."
"Yeah," the other replied, "We will get good change for this one."
As they hold their firearms at the lifting exit door, Pan in her space suit and gear comes into view.
She frowns upon seeing them as she walks toward them, "You guys totally screwed up our very first landing."
They aim their bazooka-like firearms at her, so she stops, however there isn't a hint of hesitance or worry on her face. She isn't surrendering.
She braces her core, and puts her arms at her side, and she charges up her energy—causing a dustcloud to flutter all around her as the ground on which the three stood shakes violently and cracks start forming, growing larger and deeper so that even some shaped chunks of the ground started levitating beside her.
They stumble before her as if from vertigo before falling on their backsides, their pupils dilating and their jaws dropping as they watch her furious power up.
As she approaches them, tears run down their eyes and nostrils and they tremble.
"What was the big idea?" she yells at them, and both collapse as if on cue.
"You jerks!" Pan folds her arms, disappointed that they didn't try to fight and stops gathering her energy. The cracks remain but the dustcloud is slow to disappear.
"Hey Pan," Trunks says as he disembarks too, wearing similar gear as her, "Relax, ok... maybe they were just trying to protect their planet."
"Hmph, these puny punks?... Hey!"
They awake, jump up and salute her.
"Where are we?" she asks still frowning.
"This is planet Imecka, welcome ma'am."
Trunks is taken aback by their sudden slavish deference to Pan: No way.
Bulla and Goku follow right behind him, and they all go to check the damage.
"You dumbbells!" Bulla frowns, "look what you've done... Urgh! I should just beat you up!"
"That's enough Bulla," Trunks calms her down.
"So, Imecka," Goku says, "Sure is windy here huh?" His tummy growls louder and everyone looks at him.
He smiles at them.
"Yes," they respond.
"By the way girl, why are we landing here?" Pan asks.
"This planet has an atmosphere that indicates we could find the best fuels!" she explains.
"It must be here in huge quantities and with our cargo hoipoi capsules, we can store an entire year's worth," she smiles.
"Wow," Trunks says, "Good call. Having that much fuel is reassuring considering this is a galaxy-wide Dragon Ball hunt."
"Ah, so you guys are searching for the Dragon Balls, too?" the taller Imecka indigen asks.
"Wha-?" they all look surprised, "You know about the dragon balls?" Trunks asks.
"How?" Bulla follows.
"Everyone knows about them. They're worth a huge bounty!" the short one replies.
"Bounty?" Goku asks.
"Yeah, the royal palace announced that anyone who finds and brings a Dragon Ball will be given some of the total taxes!" the taller one said, "That's a huge deal!"
"The Dragon Balls are being used for a bounty hunting game?" Bulla asks.
"Huh, what do you know?" Goku says, "I thought we were the only ones who even knew what Dragon Balls are."
"Then why did you shoot us down? Huh?! We don't have any Dragon Balls!" she snaps at them.
"Sorry!" They beg and apologize, "It sounded too good to be true and besides we sell machine parts so your ship just looked awesome."
"Hmph. I see even scrap sellers can see exceptional craft design excellence and covet it, huh?" Bulla scoffs, "Ha. Capsule Corporation's shuttle technology is far and away the most superior in engineering and design."
They nod.
Hello readers, thanks to you all especially to those who add my fanfic to their collection/library. I noticed & appreciate your support.
This episode is where the BSDBR Team have to crash on Imecka and I retold it because I remember that this episode felt like a filler episode just intended to deliver action and cool fights, but I want to make it consequential.
There's more good stuff coming so please stay tuned.
