28. Plans, Plans and Plans

[1 week later]

Unlike others, Shisui's morning began with an intensive training regime. He had long since developed ways to train to an extreme amount without causing any harm to his body.

Even this morning, Shisui had woken up early to start his daily training.

His daily training included the use of five shadow clones, with each one of them tasked with a totally different training element.

The first was responsible for the most basic training, which is a normal muscle and endurance training. This includes the basic muscle exercises which are push-ups, pull-ups, squats, running, and many more.

The second one was responsible for demonic power training. This clone would try to gather as much demonic power as possible without causing any harm to the body.

The third one was responsible for chakra training. Due to the fact that chakra in this world was impure, Shisui had to refine his chakra daily to prevent its corruption. 

The fourth one was responsible for training his chakra natures. Shisui divided the chakra for each clone equally, excluding this one. This one had the reserves of five kages. This one was thus responsible for training the chakra natures of every element that he had.

The fifth form and he, himself, were responsible for the meditation. The clone meditated enough to be able to handle the strain in the body when Shisui releases clone training. 

Releasing the clone technique caused the information acquired by the clones to flood into the original body. This also included the pain from wounds and exhaustion. Thus, Shisui always uses one of his clones to meditate which helps him withstand the strain.

The original Shisui meditates to train his mind to prevent mental exhaustion. Releasing the clones not only harms the body but also the mind. In the worst-case scenario, the person can turn into a vegetable because of the mental strain.

"*Phew* That should be enough." He said as he released his meditating clone. A stream of fresh chakra rushed into his body, cooling his entire body.

"Release!" All the other four clones vanished into a puff of smoke as a large amount of information, demonic power, chakra, and exhaustion rushed into him.

If not for the meditation, he would have passed out by now.

"*Huff* *Huff* *Phew* That should do it for today." He said laying on his back. "But I should be going back."

[Seere Mansion]

"Selene, are you ready?" Solas asked his wife.

"Almost." Came her reply from the dressing room.

Since this was a public tournament, the parents of the participants got to see their children's battle. And both Selene and Solas were getting ready for their son's event.

"Is Shisui back yet?" Selene asked.

"Not yet. But don't worry, he is always on time." Solas said with a smile on his face.

"Father?" 

"And there he is." Solas smiled at the sudden arrival of his son with the teleportation technique.

"Shisui, sweetie. Are you back?" Selene said, slowly opening the door revealing herself in a purple dress. 

Shisui must admit, his father scored high. His mother was one of the most beautiful women of the underworld. 

"Yes, mother. I will get ready in a bit." Shisui told his mother and looked towards his father. "Father, I have something to discuss with you."

"You do that. Layla and I will be waiting for you two outside." She said as she walked out of the room.

"Now tell me. What's in your mind." Solas asked, curious about his son's plan.

A grin appeared on Shisui's face as he answered. "It is related to the tournament."

[Devil Council]

Three of the four Devil Kings with the addition of Zekram Bael and Mephisto Pheles were present for the council meeting.

"Lord Zekram, are you sure about this?" Ajuka asked with a scowl. 

"Indeed, I am." Zekram said with certainty, which in turn made Ajuka scowl even more.

"This might cause a lot of commotion." This time it was Sirzechs who spoke up.

"Aww... Zechy-chan, Aju-chan, don't be so serious. Lord Zekram must have thought this through. There is no need to worry about it. And besides, it is a decision made by the Bael's and it will affect them, not us. There is no need to worry." Serafall chirruped in.

"Sera, I know that. But do you really think that it won't cause a ruckus within the underworld?" Sirzechs countered.

"Exactly! Lord Zekram, I request you to rethink your decision." Ajuka was desperate at this point.

"Ajuka." Mephisto finally decided to speak. "The council accepted the decision long ago. You cannot involve yourself in this, even if you are a Devil King. You cannot interfere within pillar business." 

Ajuka was quite frustrated but he couldn't say anything else.

"It's almost time to begin the tournament. We should be on our way." Mephisto said, getting off his chair.

The Great King and the Devil Kings followed after him.

[Satan Territory's Capital: Lilith]

The capital city of Lilith was flooded by the devils of the underworld. Despite the pure-blood devil population being quite low, the devils as a whole were not that low.

The Devil Faction consisted of pure-bloods, half-bloods, reincarnated devils, extra devils, and the lost and extinct pillar devils. 

The tournament was being organized by the Gremory and Phenex pillar, within the capital city of Lilith. The stadium was specifically made for this event. 

Despite the stadium being extremely large, it was filled to the brim with devils.

…

[30 minutes later]

("Devils of the underworld! The long-awaited tournament is finally about to begin! Within the next fifteen minutes, the participants are requested to enter the battlefield.") Announced the host.

The moment the announcement was made, the crowd burst out into cheers.

Soon the participants started entering the stadium. The first to arrive was the heiress of the Sitri pillar.

Her arrival got quite an impressive reaction from the audience. Because of her being the little sister of Devil King Leviathan and mostly because the 'Devil King' in question was madly cheering for her, from the top of the stadium. 

Embarrassed by this, the Heiress of Sitri meekly stood at the corner of the stadium.

Next to enter the stadium was the little sister of Sirzechs Lucifer, whose arrival got the same reaction from the crowd. But instead of Devil King Leviathan, it was Devil King Lucifer's turn to cheer for her at the top of his lungs.

But unlike Sona Sitri, Rias Gremory didn't seem bothered by her brother's sudden outburst. Instead, she stood proud besides Sona.

Soon the rest of the devils started appearing one by one. 

Diodora Astaroth appeared which was followed by Zephyrdor Glasya-Labolas, Clara Isis Gaap, Eneely Vassago, and a lot of other devils from various main pillars and extra pillars.

After ten or so minutes Shisui finally appeared followed by Seekvaira Agares.

The last to arrive were two devil siblings. One was a thin but handsome black-haired boy with a decent body and a beautiful girl with similar black hair and purple eyes. 

Their arrival got a lot of mixed reactions from the crowd. Some were cheering for them while a few had scowls on their faces. 

The girl elegantly went towards the battlefield and stood besides Seekvaira, while the boy meekly walked towards Shisui.

Shisui raised an eyebrow at this but remained silent.

("All the participants have entered the battlefield. Now Lord Zekram will give a speech, So I request everyone to be patient and wait for him to arrive.")

[Shisui's PoV]

Who are these two? I can sense very high amounts of demonic power from the girl… While the demonic reserves of this boy are almost empty.

Whatever, I will figure it out once the tournament starts. Now, let's see… What the Great King has to say.
