Plan

-------A Couple Of Days Later-------

Pov Gregory:

After telling the others the "truth", we kept up appearances by going through with the "prank squad". We decided to check out our options for escaping. I, Clowey, and Brian went to check out the gate, while the twins scouted out the wall to see if we could climb over it. We were now in front of the gate.

"Ok so how does this thing even open?" Brian quipped. Now that it was daytime I was able to see the inside of the gate better, the lamps that illuminated it in the dark were still on as nobody came to turn them off. Looking to the other side of the gate I saw another gate that seemed to block the outside forests, but before the forest was a bridge of some kind.

On the right side of the wall, I saw a panel of levers, I guessed that those opened the gates, I also saw at the far back a door to some room. "Maybe those panels of levers would open the door," I say while pointing to them. "Those could work if we could reach them, but it was too far away," Clowey commented.

"Looking at how wide these bars are, I think someone would be able to fit through, someone small and skinny, then they would be able to open the gates," I say. "Ya that could work but who is small enough to get through that gap?" Brian questioned. "Hmmm, I think Fern could work," I say to the shock of both of them.

"No! Fern is too innocent! We can't do Fern!" Brian yelled. "Think about it, Fern is outdone in smarts only by Clowey here, the only person who is even close to getting a 300/300 other than Clowey, also she would be able to fit through this gap, I think she's a perfect choice for this job if we go this way of escaping." I present my reasoning. Looking at Clowey, I saw her in deep thought.

"Clowey don't you agree?" I ask her as she seems to get out of her trance. "Ya ya, I agree, have you guys ever thought about how we are chosen to leave?" She asked. "Uhh, no not really," Brian said back. "I have a theory, what if we are chosen to leave by our test scores, whoever has the lowest and is at least 5 years old leaves," Clowey said, presenting her theory.

What she said brought me into thought. I think she is right, I wouldn't be able to think that way on my own, but I think she is right. "We should talk about this later, now is not the right time. If we decide to escape through the gate, we will have to have Fern squeeze through these bars and open the gates with the panel then we escape into the woods beyond" I say while trying to be convincing.

"That could work, but you have to consider that there is a third party that takes the kids, and our obstacles are not just Mom and Aunt Erica, but this third party, so if they find out that kids are escaping they will probably think it's through the gate." Clowey is smart as always.

"We can talk about this later with the others, but we should leave now," I say while heading away from the Gate we found all we could from being here. Clowey and Brian both agree as we start heading back but see Adrian and Adriana walking towards us, they must've just finished walking around the wall.

Pov Adrian:

I was sent with my sister to see if we could escape the wall. We were walking around the perimeter of the wall to see if a tree was close enough to jump over or something like that. "Brother, we aren't going to find a way up, look at how far the trees are from the wall, I think it was made that way so people like us couldn't get over the wall," my sister said, obviously not convinced that we could get over the wall.

"Be a bit more optimistic sister, we will never escape this human trafficking place if we are thinking like that." Although I said that my sister was right, the gap between the trees and the wall was pretty much impossible to cross. "How about I climb a tree and see over the wall?" I say. "Ya that's a good idea, but you better not fall". My sister said worriedly.

We already walked around most of the wall and did not find a way over it, so the only thing left to do is look to see what is over the walls. *huff* I snorted as I pulled myself up a branch, I was only halfway up it. I kept pulling myself up and up until it was too dangerous to go anymore, looking down I got a little dizzy looking at how far down it was, I waved at my sister and she waved back.

Looking at the wall I was able to see the top of the wall, but only barely, over the wall, I saw the tips of some trees. It was weird though, there was a big gap between the wall and the trees outside the wall, maybe they made a gap to keep people from getting in.

I slowly make my way down the tree to see the relief of my sister. " I didn't know you cared about me so much," I say playfully. *Huff* "I wasn't worried," she said while pouting and crossing her arms. We continued walking around the perimeter of the wall, but did not find a way over, we ended up back at the gate, where we found the other 3 waiting.

Pov Gregory:

"Hey, guys!" Adrian greeted us as he walked toward us. "Well we were just about to go back, but seeing that you guys are here, we might as well have our meeting here, it's been getting harder and harder to meet up with Mom and Erica everywhere," Brian said. We all nodded at that idea.

"Ok, so what did the twins find?" I ask. "Nothing, it's practically impossible to get over that wall considering the giant gap between the wall and the trees, unless you can climb straight up the wall you won't be able to get over it." Adriana quipped. "We did notice something, on the other side of the wall there was a gap of trees just like it is on the inside, what did you guys find at the gate?" Adrian said.

"There was a gap of trees on the other side of the wall? I noticed a bridge past the gate, what's the point of it?" I questioned. "Maybe a moat? That would explain the gap between the trees, and the wall," Clowey answered. "That makes sense, are there any other options?" I ask again to the shaking of everyone's head, none of the other options make sense.

"Did you find a way to escape through the gate?" Adrian asked again. "Ya there is a panel on the inside that seems to open the gates, but we'll need one of the younger kids to squeeze through the bars" I answer back. "Fern could work for that" Adriana said while looking at the bars. "See!" I say with a mocking expression to Clowey and Brian.

"Ok so let me get the plan straight, after getting ready for the outside we will bring Fern to the gate and she will open them then we will escape. A couple of questions, 1 are we bringing more people than just us? 2 I think we need a distraction for mom and Aunt Erica. 3 Do any of us know how to survive in the wild?" Clowey said in an excited mood, she seemed to like the idea of leaving this orphanage.

"For number 1, I think we should bring everyone 5 and up, what do you think?" I say. "Why don't we just bring everyone?" Brian said defensively because he was protective over the children. "Honestly this might sound insensitive, but I think anyone younger will just slow us down," I said to the dead silence to everyone, none of them liked it, but couldn't help but agree.

The one exception of Brian. "Are you guys seriously considering this? No way you are serious! Are you just going to abandon them?" Brian kept going on, how about this was immoral, but we tried to convince him. "Brian I'm not saying that we are going to leave them forever, we will come back for them after we escape" I try to convince him but he just gets so mad and storms off into the forest.

*Sigh* "He is not going to be reasoned with in this state, so how about we break up for now and talk again when Brian has cooled down, sound good?" Clowey said while rubbing her forehead. We all nod our heads and make our way back to the orphanage without any more problems happening.
