Superman's Sidekick?

Arctic · Fortress of Solitude

Looking at his "humble" little brother in front of him, Superman chuckled and patted Jerald's shoulder, comforting his young heart.

"You're still young. According to Earth's standards, you haven't even reached adulthood yet. I guess even according to your home planet's standards, you should still be a child, right?"

"Well... about that..." Jerald hesitated for a moment.

Superman considered Jerald his peer because they both had similar experiences. They both arrived on Smallville with a spaceship and were adopted by the Kent couple. So, Superman had always had high hopes for this non-blood-related brother.

"You're still young, and you have great potential," Superman reassured Jerald.

The O-type factor would bring significant potential to Jerald, but it required his personal development.

After hearing Superman's words, an image of someone who grew up in blood and fire appeared in Jerald's mind.

Perhaps he could also grow through rigorous training. With this thought in mind, Jerald asked Superman, "Clark, do you happen to have something that can..."

"You mean a device to apply gravity to yourself, right?" Without Jerald finishing his sentence, Superman guessed what Jerald was going to say. He turned around and gestured for Jerald to follow him.

Jerald quickly followed Superman.

Superman led Jerald to his display room, where there were some items of sentimental value to Superman. These items were not necessarily advanced alien technology; some were ordinary Earth objects.

Among the display items, Superman found a display cabinet containing a mechanical wristwatch. He opened the cabinet and took out the watch.

"This is a gravity watch. It can apply gravity to the wearer, even someone like you would become an ordinary person when wearing it," Superman explained slowly, then handed the watch to Jerald.

As soon as Jerald placed the watch on his left wrist, this seemingly ordinary mechanical watch automatically put itself on and adjusted to the most comfortable tightness for Jerald. Then, a holographic interface appeared.

The interface was simple, with only Arabic numerals and plus and minus signs on both sides, along with a reset button.

Jerald tried pressing the plus button, and he immediately felt the difference in gravity on his body. He pressed it several more times until he felt he was at a similar level to before activating the system.

"Even going to an ordinary gym with this would make you break a sweat, right?" Jerald looked at the gravity watch and said.

"Haha, that's for sure," Superman replied with a smile. "I used to wear this to school sports teams at first, but I stopped using it later. Now, it's a gift for you."

"Thank you for the gift; I really like it," Jerald said gratefully.

"It's nothing," Superman waved his hand, signaling Jerald not to worry too much. Then, he took out a box-like object from somewhere unknown. "This was originally meant to be a birthday gift for you, but I'm giving it to you early."

"What is this?" Jerald vaguely guessed what it was and reached out to take the box.

"Open it and see."

Under Superman's gaze, Jerald opened the box, revealing a pair of glasses.

In ordinary life, Clark Kent, as a journalist, wore glasses to conceal his identity. These glasses were Kryptonian technology, capable of emitting special electromagnetic waves to manipulate others' perception, effectively separating Clark Kent and Superman into two distinct identities.

"These glasses can help you hide your identity. You're still young and easily excited, so identity concealment is important for you," Superman said with a brotherly tone. "I specifically designed these glasses in a more youthful style. How do you like them?"

"This gift is amazing!" Jerald replied excitedly.

"Hahaha," Superman laughed happily at Jerald's reaction. "These glasses also have a built-in communication function. If you encounter danger, you can contact me anytime."

"The gifts you've given me are incredible, Clark!" Jerald exclaimed joyfully.

Although Superman and the Kent couple weren't his biological family, they always went out of their way to provide Jerald with the warmth of a family.

Jerald believed that this was the greatest reward he had received in the dozen or so years of his life.

"Alright, alright, let me take you back now," Superman interrupted Jerald. "You should have classes tomorrow morning, right?"

"Well..."

Five days later, in Metropolis

With the gravity watch gifted by Superman, Jerald could exercise with training equipment in high-gravity environments.

In the training room of the Omega Light, Jerald, who had just finished class, was wearing headphones and doing bench presses. The gravity watch subjected him to high gravity, making him break a sweat.

But even with the gravity watch, Jerald's physical fitness was outstanding.

After four hours of intense training, Jerald left the training room after a quick shower.

With Superman's guidance, Jerald had successfully dealt with a group of four robbers and a group of super-powered criminals after apprehending a few heat-dealing criminals. Jerald's third Ultraman armor was also nearing completion.

In his warehouse, Jerald held a thin tablet computer displaying scientific knowledge. He knew he would eventually embark on the path of science, so he needed to prepare for the future.

Although portable smart devices were not as sleek back then, Jerald had the Omega Light and Oya. He found this tablet computer on the Omega Light, and in order to enrich himself, Jerald pushed himself relentlessly.

Just as Jerald was about to make some coffee, he received a message from Superman through his glasses.

"In the city center of Metropolis, there are two superpowered criminals. Please hurry."

"Received."

With the message received, Jerald removed his glasses, and the gravity from the gravity watch was reset. He instantly felt like he had shed a heavy burden, and every cell in his body rejoiced. He was a completely different person from five days ago.

Moreover, Jerald discovered that as long as he turned off the gravity watch, the Earth's gravity would decrease significantly.

Standing in the evening sun, Jerald raised the Beta Rod high, and with a burst of silver-red light, he put on his crimson armor and transformed into a red comet, flying toward the distant horizon.

Meanwhile, in the city center of Metropolis

Countless arcs formed a four-sided cage that covered most of the city square, and it sounded eerie as sharp screams emanated from the arcs.

Superman was wrestling with a pink-purple, obese monster, but he seemed to be struggling.

At this moment, a streak of silver-red streaked across the sky as Jerald descended onto the city square.
