Chapter 125

The vampires behind the magician rushed past him while attacking them in an uncontrolled frenzy.

On the other side, John was the first one to move forward, and he was very bold by cutting the vampire's neck.

The cut he made wasn't strong enough to split the head from the body. It only cut half of the neck, which wasn't enough to kill him.

However, the fatal blow came from the wooden stake he drove into the vampire's heart, which turned him into dust.

It was a beautiful display of skill from the old hunter.

However, the enemy numbers far exceeded his ability.

Soon after, a vampire transformed into a bat on the ceiling while reverting to his human form beside him and trying to bite his neck.

Dio used the shadows behind him, grabbed his hair, pulled him away from John, and hit his back with his sword to kill him.

Constantine finally acted and conjured once again his small sun above his hand while catching all the vampires off guard.

Dio knew this could be an opportunity to try his spell again, but he was sure the magician would manage to defend himself again.

Dio held John's shoulder and teleported to get away.

"Where are we?"

John asked while looking around.

"The ground floor."

Dio figured it out after seeing the stairs.

The ground floor was empty.

They walked into a corridor with doors on both sides that probably led to bedrooms. The vampires climbed the stairs in front of the corridor.

"Not this again."

Dio said quietly while recalling the battle in the subway.

"And Constantine?"

John asked.

"He can handle himself. We have our own problems."

The problems were only increasing; the magician appeared from the shadows right in front of Dio. He chose to follow him.

"Do you take care of the vampires, and I'll deal with him? What do you think?"

Dio proposed to John.

"We don't have many options, do we?"

"Take one of the rooms; I'll help as much as I can."

"I don't need help, kid. I've been hunting these monsters for centuries, and I guarantee this battle doesn't make it into the top ten of the most dangerous ones."

John yelled at him, but his body moved towards the door on the left.

The magician seemed not to care about them, and the vampires behind him also stopped, only advancing when John entered the room.

"Ready?"

Dio asked the magician, shrouded in his black cloak. He didn't respond.

This would be the first time Dio fought against a magic user.

Zatanna taught him everything Dio knew, but they'd never fought against each other.

Dio was in unknown territory right now, and he'd have to move carefully until an opportunity arose.

Mary lifted Andrew's monstrous body above her head effortlessly and threw him against the window on the other side of the room.

Constantine and the vampires had to duck to avoid being hit.

Andrew's huge body bounced off the window and the floor before he stood up and changed back into a human form.

It was a mistake to change into that form in such a small place, even though it is the strongest and most resistant.

"Imagine that you could easily deal with me just by drinking a single glass of blood. How ridiculous."

Mary ridiculed him while swaying slowly in his direction.

"Powerful enough to handle you."

Andrew assured.

"Prove it!"

Mary shouted.

The two old vampires jumped at the same time and transformed into wolves in mid-air.

Mary became a black wolf, and Andrew a white one. The two wolves collided in the air while biting each other's bodies.

They started rolling around the room and fighting as soon as they hit the ground.

Constantine stood under attack from most of the house vampires.

The small sun that was once a floating sphere above his hand changed shape.

It looked like a concentrated sunshine lantern that Constantine pointed at each vampire that came toward him while using the other hand to throw fireballs.

The concentrated beam of the small sun not only weakened the vampires but also lightly burned them, which caused them severe sunburn.

"The kid really surprised me. I never thought he'd leave us behind without hesitation.

Constantine muttered to himself.

"Zee really got herself a good student this time."

Constantine continued.

Constantine wasn't angry about being left behind; instead, he was genuinely impressed.

He was already thinking that Kirix would develop a personality similar to his in the future.

He knew that it wasn't a good thing, but he couldn't help but feel hopeful that one day someone would understand his behavior.

"Son of a bitch!"

Constantine cursed and pointed the small sun at the wolf's face. He shook his head left and right, the flash hitting his eyes and burning them.

"BOOM!"

Constantine's moment was stolen by the sound of something breaking.

In the corridor leading to the front door, Andrew was lying on the ground with bite marks and cuts all over his body as Mary stood on one foot on top of him.

Mary was also injured with four cuts caused by claws on her left thigh.

"Boring, incredibly boring!"

Mary shouted. She leaned down and grabbed Andrew's neck while lifting him until they both touched their foreheads.

"For how long are you going to keep acting like this?"

Mary asked with anger now.

"What?"

Andrew questioned.

"My dear, you might be weak, but even so, you're holding back from hurting me. It makes me think you really want to die by my hands."

Mary said.

Andrew didn't respond. She was wrong.

The reason he couldn't fight with the intention of killing her was that every time he looked into her eyes, he remembered that he was the one who made her what she is now.

He knew it had to end.

Andrew let out his long nails and tried to stab Mary's heart. She turned into a mist and moved away to make room for him to get up too.

'What a situation.'

Andrew heard Constantine's voice in his head, which was now in his head.

Telepathy was one of Constantine's abilities, even if it wasn't the most powerful.

"What do you want?"

Andrew asked; his mood was not good at the moment.

"I want to propose a plan to deal with your ex."

Constantine explained, but there was something different in his voice—more serious—and that caught Andrew's attention.

"Speak, then."

Andrew asked as the fight with Mary started up again.
