Chapter 124

The two sides advanced.

Raven was telekinetically holding a vampire in the room of an unknown apartment in a building not far away.

She was floating and filled with her dark energy.

The vampire looked like he was being held by the neck like a cat. The arms and hands were free, and he was trying to break free.

Raven ignored him.

She turned and pointed to the woman and two children, who were hugging and crying on the other side of the room.

A black circle appeared below them, and the family slowly sank into the darkness.

After that, Raven turned to the vampire and sent him flying against the window.

A recently turned vampire may be able to turn into a bat, but the dark energy enveloping him prevented that, and he could only fall from the fourteenth floor.

Raven didn't care about the vampire anymore.

She had already stained her hands with blood; his blood wouldn't make her flinch.

The only effort she had to make was to suppress her empathy. She didn't want to feel the fear and despair of her enemy.

She then entered the corridor with bloodstains on the walls and saw a vampire on top of a man while enjoying the blood so much that he didn't notice her.

Raven raised her hand, and her energy turned into a crow's claw that reached across the room while the woman's head lifted her into the air.

With a thought, the claw tightened, and the woman turned to dust.

She went up to the man on the ground. He had lost too much blood to even turn.

The bit turned the victim into a vampire, but the turn didn't happen if the victim lost too much blood or was killed.

She created another portal and sent the man to the basement, where she was sending all the bitten.

She also sealed this place with magic so they couldn't escape when they turned.

Afterward, she left the building through the window passing through it.

On the other side, she spun her body in the air and crossed her legs while allowing herself to feel every mind in the building in front of her.

There were no more living beings on the floors below, only vampires.

"Azarath Metrion Zinthos!"

She let her consciousness spread to focus on every vampire in every room, hallway, and stairway, and when she felt them all.

The darkness enveloped them and killed them one by one.

This is the third time she has done this. She was the only one who could teleport people from their homes and kill vampires quickly and accurately.

It's not something she enjoys doing, but as a heroine, it's what she needs to do in order to save lives.

Raven didn't have heightened hearing, but when the shot was fired, her consciousness expanded, and since thought is faster than a bullet.

The crow's energy wings enveloped her body before the bullet hit her head.

She took down her shield and looked for the shooter after she had defended herself.

She can't feel kilometers away with her consciousness, but she can clearly feel the sense of missed opportunity from her enemy.

The crow appeared behind her and covered her with its wings.

...

The rest of the first group is now fighting against the plants outside of Mary's house.

"I don't like salad!"

Starfire shouted while struggling to escape the enemy's trap.

Just a few seconds ago, they were waiting for the signal to attack the house according to the plan.

That's when the long grass at their feet suddenly grew to a meter and a half and wrapped around their bodies like tentacles while lifting them into the air.

It would be easy to get rid of the weak plants if they had both of their strengths, but the plants had grown bigger and were much stronger now.

"I can't vibrate!"

Kid Flash exclaimed.

"I'll burn everything!"

Starfire was impatient and released her energy from her hands, but the plants sensed danger and extended their limbs to prevent her from firing and freeing herself.

Kid Flash was moving left and right with his super speed while thinking that friction might free him, and it almost worked.

However, the plants wrapped around his neck again to stop him immediately before completely breaking free.

"Stop moving,"

Kid Flash slowly said to Starfire.

"What's wrong?"

Starfire asked and stopped her struggle.

"These plants always seem to become more active when we're about to break free."

Kid Flash could feel how much stronger the plants' grasp was now than before.

This must also be happening to her, but since Starfire's body is stronger than his, she still couldn't feel the change.

"So, do we have to stand here waiting and doing nothing?"

Starfire asked, clearly not happy about it.

"I always thought magic was pretty cool, but I'm starting to hate it."

Kid Flash sighed.

"Our friends are fighting in a glorious adventure, and we're stuck here doing nothing. That's quite unpleasant."

"Don't talk to me, just wait!"

"What now?"

"I changed my mind; we have to find a way out of here. I don't want them to see us in this situation. I'll end up dying of embarrassment."

Kid Flash thought about the photos and videos Robin would take before helping them.

"You and your shame—I can't understand it."

"Lucky you."

...

"Do you know how difficult it was to find a professional magician to defeat him and then transform him while keeping him alive?"

Mary asked while still looking at them.

The shadows are a form of transportation similar to Dio's use, so the small room was now packed with vampires.

There are so many that many are stuck to the walls, and some have chosen to transform into wolves or bats to have more space.

"Most turned wizards lose the ability to use magic, even though they still retain their memories."

Mary continued her talk.

"There is a significant increase in strength for those who are lucky enough to keep their magical gifts. Thus, a mediocre vampire magician can become a master.

A shadow appeared on her side like a drop pouring from the floor while forming a small man with a black cloak composed of his energy, with only his red eyes visible.

"He was kind enough to repair the defenses of the house and give me a few upgrades as well."

Mary bragged.

The magician raised his arm and slid his sleeve down without speaking. He has a small iron box in his white hand with extremely long nails.

"A fairy prison, lovely work,"

Constantine recognized the item.

They couldn't see who was banging and pulling the small bars inside the prison, which were barely a few centimeters.

The magician said nothing and put the cage away.

"What did you get there, little one?"

Mary asked while looking at the cage.

"Boston."

Dio informed the others.

"Well, it doesn't matter."

Mary then lost interest and looked back at them.

'Can you save him?'

Dio asked Constantine while using telepathy.

'Not without getting my hands on it. This thing was made in the troll market, so the way to free him is quite brutal—by breaking the cage.'

These kinds of items are great for easily trapping someone, and this one was probably made for Dio or Andrew.

Dio might be stuck inside it now if Boston hadn't caught the magician off guard.

'Any idea how to get out of here?'

Dio asked next.

'It is annoying to be drawn into a house with protective spells. We have to find the weak point in the defenses and hit it hard.'

Constantine replied.

"Great!"

"Look on the bright side; at least we're not in his territory."

He's definitely right.

At least here, there's a chance to flee or escape.

They could only get out of the wizard's power domain if they had higher power levels than his, which would be much stronger in his domain.

"See, my love, my chances of victory have increased."

Mary laughed happily.

"This is really a fuckup situation, but I'm used to being stuck in this situation."

Constantine said this while looking around without being intimidated.

"I'm old; I don't mind dying so long as I can pierce your heart with this stake in the end!"

John Troughton agreed with him.

Dio still remained silent and took an attacking position.

"See, Mary, my friends aren't at all intimidated."

"The incredible foolishness of men—I never tire of seeing it."

Mary teased.

"Let me show you more then!"

Andrew shouted, and his body began expanding and growing.

Mary didn't say anything.

Mary just turned into mist and hit Andrew's monstrous body while going through the whole room and stopping only when they hit the wall of the house.

The house's magical defenses were working really well because the wall didn't even crack when they hit it.

"Επικαλούμαι το κρύο της θλίψης του ποταμού Cocyte!"

{I Summon the Cold of Wailing from the River Cocytus!}

The black smoke enveloped his sword, and with a movement, a wave of ice shot towards their enemies in front of him.

Those who can deal damage or have larger bodies hate fighting in small areas.

Dio's most powerful spells could be used against him if he uses them in a small area.

This could be his last chance to use them before everyone gets involved and spreads out.

It was a good idea, but Dio forgot to consider the magician, who didn't move during Mary's attack.

The magician waved his hands and summoned up a simple pentagram of black energy in front of him just as Dio's attack was about to hit them.

A small black point came out of the middle of the pentagram.

Dio's spell went toward the small black spot on the pentagram while devouring it in a second and then vanished instead of expanding and hitting half the room.
