Chapter Twenty_Spot On

Detective Kesley looked the man over again.

The man was lying, and they both knew it.

He decided it was time for action.

Detective Kesley flashed his badge before the man's face:

"Detective Kesley of the Fourth Bay Police Station. And I'll warn you Pal, I've got no time to waste." He finished, hauling the man roughly towards him over the counter.

Some bottles and books toppled over, and hit the floor, creating a cacophony of smashing mess.

The man's glasses slid over his hooked nose, and he pushed them up, fidgeting.

He gulped.

"Alright, I-, I'll co-operate," he said lamely.

"Good." Kesley ground out, scowling.

He released the man, and he slumped backwards into a seat behind the counter.

"Now talk," he commanded, leaning leisurely against the counter, like he was having a chat.

Like he wasn't threatening him.
