Creating My Own Empire In The Apocalypse

The Universe is being devoured. Worlds are being destroyed. Only the strongest universe can escape this destruction. ... [The Apocalypse is about to begin. The host should be mentally prepared.] "What the fuck!" Li Chen cursed, his eyes widening. Li Chen was an earthling who found himself transmigrated into a cultivation world, only to be confronted by the onset of an apocalypse. Without hesitation, he prepared to slit his throat with a sword. As an earthling, he had watched many movies and knew the horror of apocalypses; thus, he was not ready for that in his second life. [ARE YOU CRAZY!!] "Don’t you know? Crazy is my middle name. Send me back now or you’ll see crazy." [Wait. Wait. Wait] Even though he was ready to end his life, when he heard what he could achieve and that he could finally fulfill his fantasy of marrying gods, devils, and demons, he hesitated. "Fine... I agree," he finally relented, dropping the sword. Unbeknownst to him, he had agreed to more than he had bargained for.

Saving the three siblings.

Looking at the bright sun piercing through the clouds made all those hiding realize how important the sun was.

They breathed a sigh of relief, but the scene on the street sent a shiver down their spines.

On the street, tens of zombies paraded, moving back and forth with various snarls coming from their mouths.

At the gate entrance, a family was trying to escape. A middle-aged man held an axe nervously as he looked through the street for any zombies.

"It's free. Let's escape from this cursed village," he muttered in a low voice, beckoning his family to follow him.

Their family consisted of five people: father, mother, eldest brother, second sister, and the youngest, a girl.

The eldest brother protected his mother and siblings as they followed their father.

Just as they walked out of the village, what confronted them was an incoming sea of zombies.

Watching the approaching hundreds of zombies, the family stopped in their tracks, their hearts pounding heavily against their chests.

Their father quickly recovered from his stupor, looked at his family, and shouted, "Run!"

Without hesitating, the eldest brother picked up his little sister and supported his mother to escape.

Fear and anxiety marred their faces as they tried to escape to the route they came from.

Unfortunately for them, their cries alerted the zombies in their direction.

In front of them, another group of zombies was walking toward them.

"Let's take the main street," the eldest brother shouted and led the group.

Bang! Bang!

Their father hit two zombies with his axe, but instead of hacking them in two, it only left shallow wounds on their bodies.

"What...the..."

Growl!

The zombies growled furiously and pounced on him with more ferocity.

As the head of the family, the man stood his ground and tried desperately to stop the zombies from coming after his family.

Unfortunately, he was just too weak for the now-strong zombies.

"Ahhhhh!"

A miserable scream escaped from his mouth as one of his hands was bitten off at the shoulder.

"Husband!" his wife called with tears streaming from her eyes.

Looking at her husband being bitten to death, regret and sorrow marred her face. She wanted to rush into the zombies and follow her husband, but her daughter held her back.

"Mother…don't do this, please," she said with tears on her face.

"They're getting closer. We need to hide," the eldest said with a grave voice.

Dragging their mother, the family tried to find a hideout but realized all the safe buildings had their doors closed.

Behind them, they saw the sea of zombies, and fear gripped their hearts like a vice.

"There is nowhere for us to hide…" the second sister said with a trembling voice.

Their mother had a lifeless expression on her face, her gaze fixed on the incoming zombies.

Guilt was eating her inside out. She was the one who insisted they leave the village, believing it was cursed.

But now, not only did her lovely husband die to those vile things, their entire family was going to die because of her impulsive action.

"I'm sorry…" she muttered in a low voice with tears streaming down her cheeks.

She forcefully escaped from her daughter's grip and ran toward the incoming zombies.

"Mother!"

She heard her children screaming behind her but did not turn back. To her, staying alive had become meaningless.

Growl!

The zombies pounced on her and bit every part of her body, eating her alive. But through this agony, not a sound escaped from her mouth.

"M-mummy…" the little girl on the eldest brother's shoulder called while crying.

Gritting his teeth in sorrow, the eldest brother looked at his two siblings and a firm determination appeared on his face.

"Let's go…" he urged and tried to escape to another street.

However, before they could run a couple of feet, they saw another stream of zombies rushing toward them.

"W-We're trapped…" the second sister said.

The eldest brother scanned the quiet street for a path to escape but found none.

His face twitched with guilt. He looked at his little sister on his shoulder, and a drop of tears fell from his eyes.

"I'm sorry that I couldn't protect you…" he muttered.

"Brother, you don't need to feel guilty. It's not your fault," his sister said.

With no place to hide or escape to, the three siblings had already accepted their fate.

Unbeknownst to them, a pair of eyes was watching them from the third floor of the Wild Goose Chamber.

"Are you going to save them?" Hera asked.

"That depends," Li Chen responded.

"On what?"

"Never mind, I will save them this once," he said and left the third floor.

In the past three days, he hadn't been sleeping but cultivating. He had exhausted all the red crystals he got from the zombies, and now he needed more.

When Li Chen appeared in the lobby, everyone looked at him with bright eyes.

They all hoped he would save those kids out there.

"Are you going to save them?" Guiyin asked.

"Yes…" He nodded and looked at Feng. "Take your weapon and follow me."

Huh!

Everyone sucked in a cold breath and looked at the panicked Feng with lifeless expressions.

Feng looked at the serious expression on Li Chen's face and dragged his heavy legs to pick up a hammer.

Li Chen had made it clear he wouldn't protect them for nothing. Each one of them should be prepared to be useful in his territory.

But none of them expected he would allow them to face such vile things.

With Feng taking his weapon, Manager Bo made a small exit for them to get out.

Coming out of the Wild Goose building after three days, Li Chen bathed in the bright morning sun for a moment while Feng trembled.

"If you don't want to become food for those things, get your act together and swing the hammer as if your life depends on it."

Feng forcefully swallowed the thick lump in his throat and nodded.

As for the three siblings, they had accepted their fate as they watched the zombies close in on them.

Just as they were about to be consumed by the zombies, a terrifying sword strike appeared, cleaving three zombies in two.

Unbeknownst to Li Chen and the siblings, today's actions would create a famous legend in the future.
