Chapter 1Chapter One: Goldens POV: The Fall

Song recommended: Hurts Like Hell By Fleurie

The night was cold as the blistering weather caused chills to run through his body. It made him shiver every few minutes but not enough to cause him to change his movement and return back to the apartment. His body would give more heat than a normal being. Making him slightly less intimidated by the weather but that didn't mean it never affected him at times.

His steps were uncalculated as he walked forward, searching for nothing in particular yet this was his ritual. Taking walks in the middle of the dark, "constantly searching for trouble", his mother would say. Yet he for some reason he found comfort in the darkness as he did in the light.

It was in him to always explore what the living couldn't, at times catching the scent and aura of demons and angels. Yet never afraid of them but always making sure they didn't know that he could see them. Otherwise, he knew they would always come after him and that was something he was raised never to do.

Yet in this cold night, he felt something different and he couldn't resist wanting to taste the night more. It caused an adrenaline rush to spark and run through him. Making his senses heighten and wander around. Trying to find something that would give him more purpose than hiding.

Then running.

Then being afraid.

As he was always told to be.

He didn't want to admit it but he hated the words his mother always whispered to him, the ones that always revolved around fear and pain. She always told him about how wars began, how one wanted to have something or the upper hand in something they didn't even care to understand themselves. She always reminded him about, how different he was, how powerful, and how she would always give her life to protect him.

He didn't want her to, he wanted to be his own savior, to be his own hero, to be his own leader. To create a perspective where being different was normal and where everyone was accepted for their difference. Not judged for being something that was not equivalent to their own biblical normality.

He knew heaven and hell as though the back of his hand. he had seen angels and fallen angels, tasted their desires and dreams. He had always wondered what it would be like for all to be normal.

None with the upper power.

None with the advantage.

Everyone being on the same level.

"What a dreamer." She would say, "What a dreamer."

A dreamer who saw what others couldn't, he believed, a dreamer, that not even angels and demons should have been able to. No, he wasn't a dreamer, he was open and his sight was clearer than anything that was every created by whatever higher being there was and as he walked through the street.

He wondered how long it would be until they sought after him and found him. Forced him to join or tore him apart, delivering the only blow that he knew might as well kill his mother.

Suddenly, he heard a sound, the crackling sound of thunder and he turned his lazy gaze up to the skies. Wondering If what was to come was rain but there was no sight of it as the skies were clear. He wondered was it his imagination that had finally spiraled causing him to hallucinate.

He shook his head, trying to clear his mind and thoughts as he continued his walk, knowing that soon he would have to return back to the comfort of his own home.

Yet he heard it again and immediately halted, looking up in the sky trying to find something that would show him where that sound was coming. He quieted his mind and listened, as soon as he heard the crackling sound again, he let out his wings and flew up, until he was on the top of one of the buildings.

Once he was sure he could have the right view, he felt his wings disappear and he continued to stare up the sky, waiting. Waiting for something that he could feel was coming and he knew this was something to not be ignored. Then he caught sight of it, the crackling began to spread throughout the sky, creating an image that made him stare with wonder and delight.

Lightning and thunder began to fill the skies as if the heavens screamed out its anger. Flooding the skies with heavy light that seemed as though a fight between light and dark. He watched as they pushed and pulled each other. As if trying to dominate each other. Trying to have exactly what he resented, the upper hand in something. Never the less he was excited as he stared in fascination.

The skies seemed to open up a hole, revolving around each other, light and darkness chasing each other's tails as heavens scream continued to fill the earth. Much powerful than Zeus, he knew that this was Gods doing and whatever had happened had led to him casting the first stone.

How ironic, he thought, he who is without sin.

Soon he saw an opening appear and the gateway to heaven was opened but instead of it being the joyous bright light that the living always wrote about, there was darkness. And soon the swirl became a turnedo and right then he caught sight of the angels coming out. Archangels standing in a circle, words being chanted and he wasn't close enough to listen or understand the riddles but soon everything became quiet.

So quiet as though nothing had happened until the thunder boom so loudly, everything around him shook violently and he caught the sight of something being cast out of heaven. Falling with such speed he knew that if he blinked more than twice, he would miss it.

He let his wings come out and quickly went around, making sure that he wasn't seen as he tried to get as close to the scene as possible. And soon he felt the earth shook, causing him to crash into the building from the force.

He fell harshly, feeling his wings disappear as he knew he had injured himself, and yet he hurried to the sight. Wanting to see what heaven had cast out so furiously and when he reached the place.

He looked up to see the heavens close up and when he drew close to the very ground that had opened up from the force. He peeked over to see a human-like figure, being so intrigued, he dropped himself into the hole.

Drawing closer and closer to the figure, until he saw the young woman. "What have you done to heaven?" he whispered, as he drew closer to her and slowly inched forward, trying to see her features. She seemed to be passed out and yet he came closer and closer.

As soon as he was close enough to her, he reached forward slowly and brushed her hair away but it caused his hand to burn. And soon she woke up, she let out an earth-shattering scream. Her eyes flashed out a bright light out as though the world's biggest torch.

He immediately saw into her memories as he felt the burn increase but now he witnessed everything that she had done that had led to her downfall.

"How ironic," he whispered again, "How ironic…"

But just who is the hunter and who is the prey? ******** Excerpt: “Why are you stripping naked in front of me?” she questioned with a frown, doing little to hide the irritation in her voice. Her goal was to capture only his heart, not his whole body! “Am I not allowed to have a bath with my wife?” he remarked with a cold tone. “I purposely asked for a big tub to just make sure that the two of us will fit in it together.” She sighed, not tearing her gaze away from him as she regained her composure. Seeing him smirk she forced herself to get comfortable as he spoke. “That’s more like it. You said it yourself that no one forced you into marrying me. Instead, you offered and volunteered yourself willingly for it, so I expect that you’ll be confident enough to share a bath with your husband,” Nikolai confidently stated. “After all, we’ll do more than this soon enough.” Shameless… Preventing herself from rolling her eyes, she managed to give him a smile as she said, “Don’t blame me if you die on me then.” **** Note: Volume 1: Main Story Status - Completed (Chapters 1 to 403) Volume 2: Side Story Status - Completed (Chapters 404 to 472) Volume 3: Side Story Status - Completed (Chapters 473 to 491) **** PS: Commissioned Book Cover owned by the Author! But he was not alone. “Your Grace,” Soleia said, trying her best to maintain a calm tone, “welcome home. How were your travels?” The man remained silent as he stared at her. “Oh,” the woman that Soleia's husband had brought back said. “I was just wondering where the servants were. No one has come to greet you since your return. Could you please help us bring―” Orion tugged the woman back, protectively holding her in his embrace. His eyebrows furrowed as he glared at Soleia, his sudden action causing the woman to look confused at him. “Orion?” she asked, her hands on his chest to steady herself. “What’s the matter?” “That’s not a servant." In one swift motion, he threw the sword out at Soleia, only to be stopped by a flash of scarlet and the coppery scent of blood. *** Prequel to Stolen by the Rebel King.
