Fractured

In a souless motion, Pontus swam through the gates of his throne room to appear before his wife Corissa, hovering in the water with a fractured light escaping his eyes.

Shivering in fright, maids and servants all fell onto their kness, unable to utter even a word. And as they continued to shiver in fear, the queen on the throne suddenly turned her attention towards him.

Her empty eyes faced him, directly peering into his own.

"My lord husband, to what do I owe a visit ao sudden?"

She asked Contemptuously, she had finally done away with all pretense and was displaying her true feelings for Pontus.

"My beloved empress, why did you betray me and indulge in a another's embrace right before my eyes?"

Pontus asked, his lips still sporting a somewhat strange smile that would unnerve anyone who saw it.

"Hehe what a joke! With your stupidity and greed you invited a danger we could not repel and a foe we could not fight against. You were unable to protect me, and even watched as another man mired me in his scent and plowed me until I could barely walk.

You useless thing, you are unworthy of being called a monarch.

You are ubworthy of being called a man!!"

Corissa mocked coldly. With her words thag deeply cut him, Pontus's expression became more frenzied but she paid it no heed as she continued.

"It disgusts me to have been once been called your queen. I wish i never had anything to do with a waste such as you."

"You wretched whore!!" Pontus yelled shrill as he pointed a shaking finger at her.

Of course every word Corissa uttered was correct but how could Pontus possibly blame himself.

Throughout this entire crisis, not once had he blamed his own stupidity, vanity, and short-sightedness for his current predicament, rather he concentrated all his rage and hate on his wife for cheating on him.

"Good, very good. What a good wife you are. All these years, I cherished you more than all my consorts and made you empress and yet....and yet.....

Alas, today, you actually have the courage to curse me. How wonderful, how superb.

You are truly...an evil woman with bo conscience?"

Hearing this, Corissa's lips curled into a cold smile.

"You cherished me...!? When Rhea, our youngest fell sick, why did you not recall our deep affection and heal her with our realms resources?

I begged you for several years and yet you would not even listen, abandoning your youngest child to her dark fate. At that point in time I had cried tears of blood into a river of crimson, why did you not cherish me then!?

She asked, undisturbed. Her words allowing Pontus to understand that there were somethings he had never forgotten.

"Perhaps for my sins against my daughters, the heavens should indeed smite me. However to you Corissa, I gave everything else.

I gave you my affection, all the resources of the land, and the highest authority one could have in our house; a status equivalent to mine."

Pontus continued to yell in a shrill voice that sounded like a demons cry.

But Corissa's eyes only showed cold mockery when they took in his hysterical state.

"Not everything. At least I had almost forgotten the pleasures of being a woman until I was vividly reminded. Feeling the desire of a man, as he presses you down beneath his crotch and ravages you whiles filling both your holes with his essence is a sensation I miss everyday.

The one who took me was an intruder and an enemy yes, however my body will never forget his shape."

"I'll kill you!!" Pontus roared as he lost all rationality and hurled himself towards Corissa.

Seeing this, the servants and maids were all alarmed.

"Your majesty!"

They yelled frantically, several of them anxious to rush to the aid of the queen.

Unfortunately, Pontus had already lost complete control of his body and aura in his rage. The genuine, rampant aura of gold class devil god surged out of his body, turning all the meddlesome servants to ash.

A cold, cruel light flashed within Corissa's eyes, unfortunately before she could circulate her divine power, an immense inescapable pressure locked into her from.

The figure of a man clad all in purple appeared in the throneroom. He had given no one the time to react to his presence.

The Nereid was clad in purple crystal armor, his elbows were covered in in purple scales, his eyebrows were like two sharp swords, and a deep mass of elemental purple light seemed to toss and turn within his deep eyes. He was very tall and his figure was heroic and intimidating.

Anyone who met him in person would feel like he was a gigantic insurmountable mountain that heavily sat on their hearts.

"Alas, who would have thought that an exalted descendant of the mermaid clan could become such a traitorous wench." An aged voice sighed.

A other figure had appeared in the throne room. This person radiated no pressure, and his entire body was hidden by a dark robe, however anyone who caught a glance of his eyes:

Two orbs of pitch black with a promise of death, they would have sank into complete and utter terror.

The Neried clad in purple shifted uncertainly around him.

He gazed down on the scene within the throne room like some sort of god who had descended to the mortal plane to administer judgment.

He suddenly let out a dissiapointed sigh, causing an oppressive and endless aura to follow the sound that escaped his lips, falling down from the sky and completely enveloping the entire grand throneroom. In the few moments after he had arrived, he had caused the natural order of the elements within the room to freesze and the flow of air to pause.

Not even a gold class devil god of the fifth circle could change the environment this much with his presence alone.

Realizing this, Corissa explored a possibility she had never dared to; 'Is he one of them?' She thought in her mind.

"Your ancestor was a righteous person, that was the reason why he was allowed to found the gaurdian clan that protected our house, however you his descendent, a queen with the most cause to see the prosperityof her land..you actually...."

His gaze shifted entirely towards Corissa as he spoke with palpable disappointment.

Under this insurmountable pressure, Corissa could barely breathe, much less release a string of words in rebuttal.

"Sigh, Pontus, you may punish her in whatever way you desire." The robed man cruelly pronounced.

Corissa's eyes wizened in their sockets as she attempted to escape, unfortunately before she could will the ocean currents to carry her forward a net of purple energy burned into existence around her and tied her up completely.

The world fell ominously silent. The air that wrapped around the entire throne room started fluctuating violently as if about to devolve into a hurrican. Pontus wasn't moving at all, but his pupils were expanding and contracting like a pair of saucers that were constantly shrinking and expanding.

Pontus took hungry and maniacal steps towards her as countless blood vessels burst across his eyes. His normally amiable and rotund face had been completely twisted into a malicious mask of sinful glee, "Im… going to end you… make you feel all the pain I have felt..."

No one knew how terrible a person might become when they were pushed beyond their breaking point. Pontus had well and truly been broken, the darkness in his heart had long since devoured the dregs of his reason and affection.

His cries grew more and more deranged as his hurried steps became a full sprint and he rushed towards Corissa's defenseless figure.

Under the pressure of the mysterious black robed man, Corissa was also completely defenseless. Worse, she was only ten or so steps away from him… At the level of a gold class devil god, this distance might as well be nothing at all.

When he was suddenly upon her, he threw back his head and let out a twisted, despairing roar that traveled through the entire house of oceanus…. And a with a wave of devilish light surging towards Corrissa like a despairing serpent, his two hands heavily clamped unto her fair neck.

Corissa's expression morphed into one of fear… Pontus's two meaty hands which were bolstered by his divine energy had clamped onto her neck without even giving her the slightest chance to resist.

Bang!

In an instant, the currents of water around them exploded into chaos as the shook waves of Pontus's power decimated the the throne room.

Corissa stood at the center of this field of destruction, her divine energy had been completely dispersed, her face was as pale and bloodless as a sheet. A jet of blood escaped her lips as she Pontus's hand, iron hooks against her delicate skin, clamped tightly around her neck while she was powerless to resist.

Then slowly, he began to squeeze....

Well, I didn't enjoy writing this chapter, but Canaan has to learn a lesson in being responsible.
