I saw nothing!

She tried hard to dodge him, but she couldn't compete with his strength. The man's hands were moving over her back and then came to a stop upon feeling the clasp of her bra.

Miranda's eyes widened and she was about to stop him when her bra was unclasped.

"Richard...."

She took hold of his hands, trying to prevent him from continuing when the other hand of his started to remove the bra.

"Shhhh... relax," Richard whispered to her ear before sticking out his tongue and licking her neck, Next, he proceeded to kiss her neck.

Miranda felt his wet tongue kiss her neck, and she shut her eyes as goosebumps appeared on her skin.

Just when she thought that she would lose to Richard, tonight, George, who had just passed their room stuck his head in and then rushed away with his hands over his eyes.

"Brother, why do you keep the door open?"

Richard released her lips and had his forehead against hers, saying in a low voice. "Don't defy me."

Miranda nodded constantly. Had it not been because of George, she would have been eaten up.

Richard took a deep breath and calmed himself down. Then, Richard dashed into the bathroom.

----

Early in the morning, George raised his two hands at the sight of his brother, surrendering.

"I promise that I saw nothing. You were in the way, and I saw nothing."

George ignored him and drank a mouthful of water to drive away the thirst.

George ran off to the dining room and placed the dishes for breakfast on the table one after another, trying to receive approval from his brother.

"Should I call sister?"

"No need, she does not want to see me right now," Richard replied.

Miranda did not dare to open the door and walk out of her room. She leaned herself against the door, trying to hear if there was any movement outside the room. She planned not to leave the bedroom until Richard was gone.

"They almost have sex" Her body trembled.

After breakfast, Miranda went to see Nancy. The moment she entered the room, she saw that Nancy's eyes were open. However, her friend still looked pale with the oxygen mask covering her mouth.

Miranda walked closer to her and exclaimed, "You scared me!"

Nancy attempted to move her arms but she had no strength at all.

"Don't move, Nancy. What if something happened if you moved?" Miranda immediately stopped her.

As Miranda walked out of the inpatient building, she spotted Richard and a young beautiful woman walking out of another building. They looked perfect together and were quite intimate.

If Miranda hadn't known that Richard was her husband, she'd have thought he and the pretty woman were a couple.

Seeing Richard and the woman coming her way. Miranda panicked. Her eyes darted around and spotted a trash can close by, and without further ado, she dove behind it like some sort of thief.

------

The next day, the sunshine woke Miranda up by glaring at her through the window. After washing up, Miranda went downstairs for breakfast.

George was the only one eating, and he informed Miranda that Richard had some urgent matters to deal with.

Pulling out a chair, Miranda sat down and poured herself a glass of orange juice.

"Did something happen?" George asked noticing the sullen expression of Miranda.

"Nothing" She replied but her expression didn't lie.

On that particular weekend, the weather was perfect.

After asking Emily, Miranda found out that Richard had not returned the previous night. Her heart sank thinking about the scene she saw in hospital.

She changed her clothes and wore a black suit to work. Her immaculately ironed suit pants accentuated her slim and long legs. In the black suit, she looked professional and gave off an air of competence.

After reaching the company, Miranda scanned her face and took a lift to the floor where her office was located. Although there weren't many people in the translation department, their office occupied the entire floor of the building. Hence, it was spacious and bright.

At lunchtime, Miranda found that her cell phone had registered several missed calls. When she looked at it carefully, she found that these calls were from Riverdale General Hospital, and she immediately called them back. "Is this Miss Hudson speaking?"

"There's something wrong with the patient, so please come to the hospital as soon as possible," said the person on the other end.

After arriving at the hospital, Miranda staggered as she dashed toward her grandmother's ward. Coincidentally, she bumped into the nurse who had been taking care of her grandmother.

The nurse felt sorry for Miranda. "Please accept my deepest condolences, Miss Miranda."

Lifting the white cloth, she saw her grandmother's cold, pale face. Her knees became feeble, and she kneeled on the spot. Letting out an agonizing scream, she began to cry her lungs out.

"Grandma…"

Miranda hugged her grandmother's body all night, crying her heart out till she had no more tears left to cry.
