Compromised Communications

After failing horribly to get the Cat's attention, Kita turned his to Elena. The women who sitting on her chair comfortably while stroking other man's pet.

"Elena, Any updates on the whole border situation?"

"Huh? How am I supposed to know what they're up to? Afterall, we've already left the system far behind us." She said as he gave him a smile.

As Kita looked at her smile, his face morphed into pure disgust.

This women in front of him wanted him to believe that she didn't install any bugs when she hacked into their internal network.

Kita was 100% sure that she already had access to much of their internal communications. He knew what she was capable of, and he called him out on it.

"You really want me to believe that you didn't install any bugs onto their system? Have you gone rusty then? Maybe staying aboard the Jeager has softened you up." He said in a taunting tone as he crossed him arms.

"Elena's eyes twitched at his taunt. He didn't like when anyone challenged her qualifications."

"Are you questioning my capabilities?" She asked with a smile.

Although that smile looked pleasant at first, there was a terrifying danger behind that.

"I don't want to, Unless you don't have anything to tell me?" Kita changed his tone to a suggestive one. He knew that pushing her too much would make things harder for him.

She may even decide to leak the photos that she had been holding hostage for so long.

So instead, he chose to gave up.

"Well, As a matter of fact, I just finished writing up report and was about to send you when you arrived. Take a look at this." She also went with the change and didn't push.

Kita took the tablet handed to him and began reading through the bullet points.

Colonel Grills, hadn't moved to notify whoever had given him the command. Maybe he hadn't manage to work up the courage to report back to his superior.

But he would need to report back eventually, Elena would for sure jump on the opportunity to find out who exactly that was.

Next, there was information about the orders he had received. It seemed that the order he had received was fairly simple. Keep Dr. Kita within the Empire's borders. No matter what, He wasn't allowed to leave the empire at any cost.

"Well, he clearly failed that mission."

The important thing was that there wasn't any mention of keeping them in for a specific period of time. That would suggest that there wasn't a hunting party on the way to their location.

That came as a relief to Kita. He had been quite worried about that possibility. There were many problems that could arise once that happened. So avoiding it was the best possible way.

Next, There were some internal reports about the Jeager and it's high speed maneuver around the system to escape the system. Also there was a mention of the surprising FTL transition that happened while in motion. Which warranted quite a bit of attention.

Even Kita was quite impressed with that feat himself.

Apart from that, there wasn't any important stuff in the report.

So Kita put down the tablet and asked.

"Are you actively tracking their communications?"

"What do you think?" She said as she gave him a sly smile.

"Can you find out if Captain Grills mentions about what he knows about me? I'm sure he was told something about me that let him to cooperate with the orders."

"Well, I'll try, no promises though."

"Great. I'll take my leave now, Noir, C'mere buddy." Kita said as he opened up his arms for Noir to jump.

This time. Noir did look up, But he refused to move.

"Aww, it seems that he doesn't want to go with you."

"Noir, I have that special food for you today! So come quickly."

"Meow?!" That successfully got his attention. He quickly jumped on Kita's lap. Kita quickly headed over to his room with him.

As he entered the room, he quickly let Noir down.

Noir walked straight to his food bowls. Which he found empty.

"MEOW!" he turned towards Kita.

"Yes yes, let me grab it for you." Kita said as he moved towards the kitchen.

He grabbed that special food that Noir liked very much. Kita didn't let him have it often and only on special occasions.

Kita left him alone to enjoy his meal as he went inside his bathroom.

He turned the settings to the coldest available settings as he let the water flow all over his body.

As the cold water ran down his chiseled body, He began thinking back to the whole situation. No matter what, he couldn't just get the thought of someone knowing his secrets out of his mind.

His intuition told him that whoever was behind that order also knew about his Anti-matter missile.

If that was really the case, Then Kita was in some serious trouble. A hunting party would be the last thing he would need to worry about if this went public.

Every human power would want to hunt him down in order to get their hands on the Anti-matter

No matter who they were, Kita couldn't trust anyone if that really happened.

He would get hunted down to the edge of the galaxy if that were to happen.

Just the thought of this made him shudder in fear.

This was bad. Really bad.

But Kita didn't know for sure if they knew anything. And most of all, he didn't know anything about the person or organization

Being in dark like this made him really uncomfortable. Even the cold shower didn't help him calm down.

After a few more minutes of thinking under the shower, he got out and changed into his pajamas.

He didn't feel like eating anything right now, So he went straight for his bed. As he sat down, He took Helen's photo from the bedside table. He caressed the photo as he spoke softly.

"What have I gotten myself into?"
