She facepalmed inwardly. What was wrong with this man? Why was he doing this to her? Asher chuckled as he threw his head back a little. The addicting sound bounced through the entire room and Arabelle couldn't help but be stunned.
She could absolutely not count the amount of times that she had been stunned by this man. It wasn't entirely her fault though. The man in front of her was perfection. He had so many features and attributes that even a girl would want. His thick and long lashes, his thin red lips. Everything was just perfect.
She stopped herself from thinking further about him. He was dangerously invading her thoughts. She had even compared Ryder to him. "What intimate act? I hope you aren't thinking of doing anything perverted, Mr. Roth." Arabelle eyes were literally shooting daggers at him.
She was also pretty dangerous and he should know that. Asher just smiled lightly at her words. He looked so annoyingly unbothered. "Why would I, Miss Monroe? I like my preys extremely submissive. And you are an hot headed lion. Besides, why would I wait till now to do anything to you if I wanted to?"
Arabelle flushed slightly. He was undoubtedly right. Why would he wait till now to do anything to her? He had the chance to do something to her on the night she was drunk but he didn't. 'Why do I just keep embarrassing myself in front of this man?'
The amount of times she had embarrassed herself in front of him couldn't be counted anymore. And it was all because of her apparent stupidity.
"I will take my time to decide what intimate thing I want to do with you. You can go on now, little bunny." The way this man said his words were so vague. If he hadn't just proved that he wouldn't do anything to her, her mind might have wondered off again. She finally moved from her spot and walked upstairs to have a shower.
Immediately she reached the room Asher and her shared, her phone rang. Who was this person with such bad timing? She glanced at her phone which was tightly clasped in her hands. She almost cried when she saw the person's name. Ava....AGAIN. Why was the universe against her peace of mind?
She sighed, walking up to the bed to sit. She might as well listen to what she had to say. Her hands swiped across the phone screen when she was finally in a comfortable position on the king sized bed.
"Hello." Ava's chirpy voice could be heard. There were loud noises coming from the background. It was as if she was at a late night club. Ava was wild so it was no surprise to Arabelle.
"Hey. Why did you call? This is the second time you are calling me today." Arabelle said but all she got was shuffling noises and some mild mutterings before everywhere became silent, the hollow breeze was the only sound coming from the other side of the phone.
"I just wanted to call you. Is that a crime? Why do you like making it seem like I am a burden to you?" Ava pouted, though Arabelle couldn't see her. "You know you are not. Stop whining like a child. Even children are better than you." Arabelle insulted and Ava huffed in response.
"Yeah, I suddenly remembered something. What of Ryder, the scumbag with no future?" Ava asked and Arabelle laughed out loud, the melodious sound ringing throughout the room.
"Dumped him a while ago. I am sorry I didn't listen to you when you told me he was no good. Please forgive me." Arabelle apologized and Ava was on cloud nine as her head swelled massively.
When Mr. Diaz had made Ryder her fiancé, she had invited Ava to have dinner with them, to make the necessary introductions since it was only right that her best friend knew her fiancé. But during the dinner, both Ava and Ryder had gone to the bathroom.
Ava immediately came back and told her that she had seen Ryder kissing a random girl in the girls' bathroom. Arabelle, who was already blind in love, chose to believe Ryder over her best friend. Ava and her had a massive argument and they stopped talking for almost a month.
Ava finally called Arabelle to apologize claiming that she had seen wrongly. But Arabelle didn't know she had only done it so she wouldn't lose her best friend. When she had caught Ryder and her step-sister together, Ava came to her mind immediately.
She had argued with her best friend because of a man who turned out to be a cheating scum. She could only regret the hurtful words she had said to Ava as she walked out of Ryder's door.
She was a fool and at that moment, she felt like the world had crumbled right before her very eyes. She could only force herself to keep her composure which was gradually falling apart as she aimlessly walked through the streets that day.
She was broken and hurt beyond that which words could explain. Of all people, it was her step-sister.
"Hmph. This is why you must never let me go. You got it? Hold on to me very tight." Arabelle shook her head at her friend's silliness.
"Yes, your highness." She paused then continued. "I figured out Ryder was cheating on me with my step sister. I caught them making out when I went to his house the other day." Arabelle narrated and Ava immediately burst out.
"That cheap, white lotus, idiotic nonentity. I told you. She has the blood of her mother in her. Like mother, like daughter. The men snatcher genes is in them. And to believe you were so nice to her. She didn't deserve one ounce of your niceness." Ava scoffed and Arabelle chuckled lightly.
She was incredibly happy Ava was still present in her life. There were some phases of her life she wouldn't have survived without her. She was like a refreshing breeze that gently carried her off her feet.
