Condition 3

Once the elevator landed on the 5th floor, Arabelle walked out of it. Her heels made clicking sounds on the silent hallway. No one was around since everyone was busy doing one thing or the other.

Arabelle stopped in front of the accounting office. She inhaled and exhaled consecutively before opening the door. Her eyes met with Khloe's but she ignored her totally, striding towards her seat with slow steps.

She sat down on her seat gently before switching on her laptop.

"Do you think this is your father's office? You can't just come here anytime you like. And to think you had the guts to not come to work yesterday. I am going to report you to the boss right away."

Arabelle stared at Khloe for a second. "For the record, you have mentioned that do I think this is my father's office many times. Aren't you tired of repeating yourself especially since I don't have a father?" She rolled her eyes at her before taking it back to her computer.

Khloe was stunned. Arabelle rarely talked back at her. "You....you....you....I will report you to the boss right away." She finally stood up from her chair, storming off in rage.

Arabelle sighed heavily. She immediately started making accounts for the work she had missed yesterday. Her hands moved furiously fast on the computer and different numbers and letters appeared on the screen.

Just then, Khloe walked back in. It looked as if smoke were coming out of her ears. "The boss has summoned you. I don't know why he even called you. He isn't even meant to handle matters like this." She continued talking while walking to her seat.

Arabelle silently stood up from her chair before walking out the door. Being alone in the same space as Khloe was a nightmare. She was alone with her in a room to supposedly learn from her but she had somehow managed to learn nothing. The only thing Khloe could successfully teach her was how to be violent and unreasonable.

Arabelle walked to elevator. She entered into it immediately it opened and pressed the button that would take her to the 20th floor. The elevator doors opened upon reaching the 20th floor and she walked out of it.

The hallways were silent as she walked to the C.E.O's office. On getting there, she knocked on the door.

"Come in." A male voice resonated from inside the room.

Arabelle gently pushed the door open and walked in. Her eyes came in contact with shining emerald green eyes which she instantly looked away from.

"Miss Monroe, is it?" The man asked as a meaningful smile spread on his face.

"Yes." She replied but the man just gazed at her, not saying anything. His emerald green eyes shone with admiration but Arabelle couldn't see it.

"You called for me, sir?" Arabelle had no choice but to ask since the man wasn't saying anything.

"Call me Mr. Ramley. Do not come late to work for no reason, Arabelle. You may go." Mr. Ramley said before waving her off.

Arabelle bowed a little before leaving the room. She felt that the man was a little weird.

Time quickly passed by and soon, it was 8p.m. Arabelle was still working on her computer. She had accounts to make for both today and the day before. She swiped her hand across her forehead in distress. She was getting a little tired. Khloe had also left a while ago.

She finally heaved a sigh of relief when she was done with her work. She quickly closed her computer and grabbed her belongings. She was making her way to the door when a voice echoed in her head.

[Condition 3: Party A must arrive home before 7:30p.m sharp]

Ava switched on her phone and she almost fainted when she saw the time. It was already 8:10p.m. It was at that moment she knew she was doomed. She gritted her teeth hard. Asher was evil. He had purposely told her to remember the needful so she wouldn't be able to understand the hidden meaning in his words. What a devil!

She rushed to the elevator which took her to the ground floor. She walked out of the company, cursing at Asher in her heart. Her eyes had a hint of surprise in them when she saw the car that had dropped her in the morning right in front of the company with the driver waiting outside the car for her.

She walked up to him, mumbled a greeting and got into the car. The man entered too and soon, they sped off.

On getting to the house, she rushed out of the car and walked to the main entrance leading to the living room. Immediately she got in, she met the man on the cushion facing the main door, casually holding a glass of red wine as he swirled the wine in the glass around.

"Welcome back, little bunny." His voice was calm but Arabelle somehow thought it was the calm before the storm. She broke a condition after all.

"I am sorry." She went straight to the point but the Asher just raised his brows elegantly.

"For what? I don't remember you doing anything bad, cupcake. As we both understand, there are consequences for each condition. And let me remind you, the consequence for breaking condition three is I get to do one intimate thing with you." Asher clicked his tongue at the end of his words, a dangerous smirk hanging on his lips.

He elegantly raised the glass of red wine to his lips before taking a sip from it.

Arabelle didn't know what to say. She couldn't accuse him that he didn't tell her purpose so she could come home late. She had learnt that this man could turn the blame to her in any situation. He was dangerous, precise and smart. It was like he calculated his moves thoroughly before advancing.

She facepalmed inwardly. What was wrong with this man? Why was he doing this to her?
