Chapter 14: Epilogue

He gritted his teeth and softened then his eyes rolled back indifferently to the rogues and they barred their teeth grinning at the Elders hungrily and they screamed when the rogues attacked them.

Leloo shivered and started to cry at the scene and she gripped Efilian.

"You're despicable, worthless, a foolish old man,"

Efilian shuddered when Zev picked him up from the ground. "The head's worthless if the body is up to no good, I don't blame you, but I never want to see your raisin face here ever again. Understand?"

Efilian swallowed.

"Take your family and get out," He ordered putting out a sword.

Efilian gathered Leloo and they took their leave.

Ray went after them but stepped back when the rogues blocked him.

"Unless you want to handle these Lobos, I suggest you think twice about deluding us again," Zev clenched his fist and Ray bowed in reverence to him.

He understood Zev's might couldn't be transcended. And so he stayed, for his sake and his daughters.

Zev softened at his new ally

He was saddened at Zev's judgement. "I'll do anything to restore peace in Sirio Lupo,"

"Even if it means joining us," Connor folded his arms.

Ray stepped up "Consider it done,"

Zev smirked tapping his shoulders with his sword playfully.

Ray curled an eyebrow at that

"It means you're a rogue," Amy explained and Ray looked relieved.

Jet snivelled gripping her necklace and sobbed running to the packhouse. She gasped when she met Zev at the field and she hugged him.

"He's gone, Bernard's really gone," She blurted and her shoulders shook.

"He's the only one who ever knew about my mom and I don't know anyone else," Her eyes tilted and Zev rested a palm against her face brushing it dry.

"You're the only one I ever cared about,"

Her eyes shook. "What?"

Zev's lip settled near her ear "I Zev, Leader of the Rogues, reject you as my mate, and promise never to look back,"

Jet brushed her eyes dry when she felt the bond between them weaken.

"You deserve your freedom," Zev's eyes hooded and he trod back.

She swayed in shock at his words.

Connor held her steady. "Look on the bright side, at least you're one of us," He beamed.

Jet's eyes stirred at that and she followed Connor while he led her away.

"Did you have to go down that road?" Amy asked and Zev grinned.

"What can I say? Old habits die hard," He held her waist and her eyes closed encircling his shoulders while they kissed.

She held another claw necklace waiting by the trees, she used a spell that could disrupt the werewolves' sense of smell and she watched the rogues lurk around guffawing at each other.

Jet was wearing a black dress tossing a line into the river and beamed as she caught a fish holding it up for a Nosferatu mate to see.

He beamed at her and took a second line bumping her while they fished together. She laughed.

Her eyes tilted at her newfound life holding a tree for support. "I hope our paths cross. If not, this is my gift to you,"

She let go of the second necklace in the river flowing its way meticulously to the bank where she stood and Gia fled deeper into the woods.
