"Ahaha! You can't catch me!" I said with a bag of jewelry in my hands.
I was currently running away from the police and a couple low ranking pro heroes. I bet your wondering, "what is this girl doing? She's probably just a teen, right?"
Well, yes. I am only 16 years old and I'm stealing stuff. Funny thing is that I'm a second year at UA. Um, technically I would be a second year, if I wasn't held back. Now you're probably wondering, "if you steal things, than how did you get into UA?"
That's what my Quirk is! A Quirk is like a superpower that about 80% of the world has. Kind of like a superhuman boost.
My name is Kisuma Aoni. I prefer Kisu though. My Quirk is Steal. As you may have guessed, my Quirk allows me to steal swiftly without anyone noticing me. Extra fact, whatever I previously touched will return back to me if I want it to. It only works for about an hour though. I love my Quirk. I mean, who doesn't like stealing lollipops. I did that a lot as a kid. Now I'm here, stealing actually valuable stuff. No biggie.
"Get back here, kid!" One of the police officers demanded.
"Hahaha! Make me!" I yelled back as I climbed up a wall. "Hehehe, so long suckers! Didn't catch me this time!"
Yeah, I climbed a wall. Yes, I'm very athletic. Why else would I be a pro in the parkour community? I'm also really good at dancing, by the way. But I mostly do a lot of stunting because of my escape routes. The routes I take are seriously hellish for the officers that chase me every day. Unlike me, they can't climb or jump over walls. And the pros are easy to outrun, they're all low ranking heroes. None of the top pros ever try to get me. Don't know why, honestly.
I took my phone out of my pocket and tapped on a contact I had recently added. "Yo, yo. I got the stuff you needed."
"Good," an older guy said. "Now bring it over."
"Wait a moment. Send the money to my account and I'll bring it over."
"Brat. Fine, I'll send it over."
A notification showed up on my phone. I smiled, then swung the bag over my shoulder. "Thanks, but I think I'll keep the money and the jewelry. Maybe I'll sell it to get more dough."
"You can't do that! That's not the deal-"
"Screw that. I got my own problems. Don't add on to the pile, pal." And I hung up.
What can I say, I'm good at lying. Plus, I had other plans with the stolen jewelry. Plans with a friend.
I opened the door to an older house. It was a very light and pale yellow. The paint was a little scratched here and there but otherwise intact. It was a complete mess inside. Clothing all over the place, empty chip bags on the table in the kitchen, books opened and laying on the couch, literally a complete mess.
I entered a room to see my friend playing on his PC with a few people online from his guild that he created.
A guild is an organized group of players who play regularly together in one or more multiplayer games. Honestly, I found it as a waste of time. Having to follow a group and having another follow right after you. It's just annoying. Having just one or two people is another story. They don't get in the way as much as a large group would. Of course, I only say that cause I do a bunch of my work alone.
"Yeah, right. I'm 96% sure we won't be able to beat him. He has more than 1500 health." My friend said to his teammates.
"Knock, knock. You should really clean the place, Yuno."
"Yeah, whatever. It doesn't matter. Just leave the loot there on the floor." He waved his hand at the floor before turning around, taking a break from his game.
Yuno Tsumuyuki, my best friend since, well, forever. His Quirk is High Intellect. He says his IQ is a perfect 200 but I think it's way higher than that. Maybe an IQ of 350 or something, which is technically almost impossible. I mean, when he looks at a car, he automatically understands how to take apart and put it back together in just five seconds. He looks at it for five seconds, and he knows how to put a car together. Too bad he spends most of his time gaming and black marketing on the internet.
Yuno looked at the bag full of jewelry. He looked at me, then back at the jewelry. "This'll get you, like, one hundred thousand yen in total. I thought you wanted more than that." (One hundred thousand yen is about $722 in America).
"Mm, nahhh. I've got enough. Plus, I'll be saving about half of that for stuff. Just send the money to my account. I'll let you keep about a quarter of it." I walked out as Yuno started to complain.
"That's only 25,000 yen! And that's just me rounding up! C'mon, Kisu!"
I pulled out my phone to see his text. I laughed at the text. An angry and cussing emoji. He was mad, but he'd get over it. He always did with his little group of friends in his guild.
"Hah, poor him. Too bad he can't live without me." I chuckled as I thought, pulling my hood up. "I have to bring food to him so he won't live off of chips and junk like that."
Hey, I may be a thief, but I know how to have a balanced diet. Don't judge the stealing community so hard, we're a little smarter than that, obviously. We're thieves for crying out loud!
I passed by a lot of little kids on my way back home. I enjoyed taking that road. For one, there's never any officers around. For two, I get to watch little kids mess around, which I love. And for three, I get to mess with the middle school bullies. I know I lead a teeny tiny life of crime, but bullies just suck. I'm not gonna sugarcoat it. They just straight up suck.
I lived in a small apartment. I know, I know. "Kisu, you have all this money from stealing and whatever!" That don't mean jack shit. I kind of have to keep a low profile with all the stealing I do. But stealing is kinda fun, if you catch my drift. Nonetheless, I go to UA, and I like it there. The only reason I'm still there is the fact that the teachers know my Quirk is stealing. They also don't know that I steal stuff, sooo it makes sense that I haven't been expelled.
School is just annoying. I can't get away with stealing as well. And every student I come across isn't any fun. It's not like detention is anything bad. Maybe it's just because they're afraid of getting expelled. I, however, have an excuse. Like I said, the teachers know my Quirk is to steal. And every time I steal something, I tell them that I'm improving. It's a win-win.
Class has been out for a while. In the next week or so, the entrance exam would be taking place. A new batch of first years, always fun. I'll be in class 1-A this year. Since I was held back a year, I'll be with a bunch of first years. I was not ready to be a second year. Life goes by quicker than one would think. You have to enjoy the times that make you happy. That's what I think, at least. The teachers always say that it's good to move forward. Screw their little sayings, I've got my own quotes and all.
I hope this year will be at least a little more exciting. Although, for the past ten months, I've seen this scrawny old…drug addict looking guy and a skinny teen boy at the beach lately. This green headed boy keeps moving trash around. I suspect he's cleaning the beach up. Every morning during my morning run, I would see both of them there, just at the beach, moving trash. Well, the boy was moving trash, not the old grandpa. I never let it bother me. I would just watch them as a little break from my run and then keep going. Maybe he was training for the entrance exam into UA. The thought only came to mind once, when I first saw them. I had a feeling this year would be at least a little more interesting.
"Aw, man." I grumbled as I opened the door to my apartment. "Officers chasing me and Yuno messing up his place. Talk about a trashy day. Maybe school will keep things off my mind."
I fell asleep on my bed without eating or washing off. I was too lazy to even change. I just fell asleep on my bed, not having a care in the world.

"This damn breeze is making me not want to go running in the morning anymore," I said as I reached for my water bottle that was clipped onto my belt. "Hmm, they're still cleaning the beach?"
I saw those two guys again. The green haired boy was there, dragging a fridge from the fairly clean section of the beach to the dump truck that was sitting about 20 feet away.
"Pft, he expects to get a fridge in there?" I laughed, almost choking on my water. "I can see getting it in front of the truck, but inside? That's laughable."
Half an hour later, he actually got it into the truck. I couldn't believe it. He actually somehow on gods earth put it inside the truck and still had enough energy to grab a few tires as well. I didn't understand how that was physically possible, unless you had strength like All Might, the No. 1 Hero.
It made me laugh. He was trying so hard to move all these things into the dump truck. He was trying to move cars. Cars! Question, why are people throwing out cars on the beach when they can donate or put it in a junkyard, not a beach.
I pinched the bridge of my nose while thinking this, but my attention went back to the skinny boy and scrawny drug addict.
"C'mon, you're almost done, kiddo!" The scrawny grandpa said. It was a bit muffled since I was farther away, but it was still clear what he said.
"Y- yes sir!" The skinny boy said while running with a tire on his shoulder.
I was so curious. At this point, I was holding back from trying to invade their business. I had told myself to mind my own beeswax, buuut that was the last thing on my mind when I went to down to see what they were doing.
They didn't notice me at first. That's probably because I was sort of hiding within the small amount of trash left on the beach. I decided to make a move after a few minutes. Wasn't the best of choices.
"Hello, young lady." The scrawny man waved. "Are you here for something?"
"Uh-" I answered with a stutter before clearing my throat. "Uh, hi. I've noticed that you guys have been cleaning this section of the beach. I don't mean to pry but is there a specific reason for that?"
"I'd say it's obvious but we're just cleaning up a bit."
"Oh, that's interesting. It never stays clean. People just like to litter, I guess."
"You're very right, young lady."
I saw the skinny boy come running back, assumingely, to talk to the blonde man I was talking to. He put his hands on his knees, catching his breath. Than he stood up straight again.
"I finished the the area. What next?"
I studied the boy up and down. He seriously was skinny. He was really small. He looked at me back. His freckles were spread across his cheeks. If you look at him from an angle, he looks pretty cute.
"Ahem," I said while pushing the thought away and scratching my cheek with a single finger. "Could you be training for the entrance exam at UA? Just a thought I brainstormed."
The green haired boy nodded his head fast. "Yes, yes! I'm training for the exam! It's in a week so I've been really working hard. Are you going to take part in the exam?"
This guy looked like a puppy wagging his tail. I could see the sparkles around him as he asked.
"Um, I'm already in UA." I said as I put my hands up, signaling personal space. "I might've been held back a year, though."
"Oh, really?" The sparkles disappeared and he had a dumbfounded look on his face. "I won't ask why. Maybe we'll see each other if I pass the exam."
"Haha. Yeah, maybe."
We talked a bit. Wasn't much. It was just about the exam. I may have kinda given him a few cheats by saying what to expect of the exam. I mean, hey. He looked like he needed it. He was real skinny and small. There's no way he could make it past. Apparently, his name is Izuku Midoryia. The only thing he said about his Quirk is that it enhances strength. Nothing else. Of course, I just gave a simple explanation about my Quirk. Wasn't much, really.
The rest of my run was pretty ordinary. I did steal a few things on the way. Like a couple of ramen packets from a nearby store. I had to run away from at least eight cops in the area. Other than that, it was a rather interesting morning.
