His words hit a nail on Aryen's heart. Her thoughts wanted to tell Lee Shira. 'She's my daughter! She is! Why are you taking her away from me?!' Too bad she cannot voice it out.
Aryen's body stiffened and stopped struggling as she realized her actions. Thanks to Lee Shira's warning, she wasn't aware that she's unconsciously exposing herself.
Watching the husband and wife obviously arguing because of the child, Mei Joan felt complicated. She looked back and forth at Lee Shira and Aryen with a pale face.
Mei Joan had took a deep breath and said with seriousness. "I'm sorry Mr and Mrs Lee. I can't let her stay with you.. Please excuse us.."
Mei Joan carefully hold Arwen on her arms. Despite the little girl is struggling and crying, she immediately turned around and left the cabin without looking back at the husband and wife.
After Mei Joan closed the door, Lee Shira turned Aryen to face him; his other arm tightly held her waist while his other hand pinched her chin to look straight on his eyes. "Are you trying to expose yourself as her mother?" He uttered coldly.
Lee Shira's question shook Aryen's heart. She did not respond but the tears that formed on her eyes falls on her pink cheeks while staring at her husband.
Neither Mrs Mei's story is real or not, she's not stupid to think that Lee Shira didn't hear the conversation between her and Mei Joan about the child's parents.
Knowing that she already exposed herself in front of him, Aryen can only guess that Lee Shira might have speculated her relationship with the little girl.
With her tears that keeps on falling from her eyes, there were still no changes on Lee Shira's expressionless face. But his deep cold voice rang on her ears. "Do you want her to stay with us?"
Lee Shira's unexpected question made Aryen's heart skipped a beat. She hesitated to respond but after she thought for a second, a flash of idea appeared on her mind.
Aryen asked with a shaking voice. "Can she stay with us?" Her voice sounded anguish, obviously trying to suppress her feelings as she added. "Can you.. Ask Mrs Mei? Can she.. Stay with me? Please.. Just while we are here..." she pleaded with earnestly.
Scrutinizing Aryen's crying face, Lee Shira did not speak. But with his expressionless face and inexpressive but fierce looking eyes, Aryen cannot guess what he was thinking.
It took a moment before Lee Shira bent over to give her a small gentle kisses on her lips and wiped the tears on her face. "What will you give me in return?" He asked with his usual cold voice.
Aryen: "..." In exchange?!
Aryen was stunned after hearing Lee Shira's words. She didn't know how to react; not sure if she's happy. She will be with her daughter, but he is asking something in exchange.
But the idea about being with her daughter made Aryen disregarded what her husband discovered about her. "What.. What do you want?" She uttered, but her voice sounded worried about what Lee Shira would do.
Watching Aryen's uneasiness, Lee Shira tightened his arm on her waist as he keeps on kissing her lightly. "Tell me everything about you. Not missing any details." But he noticed Aryen's face turned pale.
"You still don't trust me?" He unexpectedly asked but his voice remained cold. But with his expectations that Aryen will possibly answer 'No', he did not give her a chance to speak.
Lee Shira releases her chin; hold the back of her head and immediately covered her lips with his, kissing her passionately, leaving her out of breath.
"I know you don't" Lee Shira coldly said, but he keeps on nibbling on her lips while he said. "I will give everything you want." He uttered with a warning. "Just don't ever lie to me" Then he bite her lips and added. "Secrets are not allowed."
