“What if some other Vampire tries to harm her?” I asked the king, my father and Luci. We four were present in the King’s audience chamber and we're going through some stuff, “There is always a chance someone could try something because she’s still a human. It’s going to take time for her blood mate powers to show.” I was making a point here, solely for Nena’s sake. Still being a man who has claim to the throne meant there was a chance someone might disagree of Nena and try to harm her.

“Boy, the thing is, even if you revoke all your rights officially, there is still a chance it might happen.” The king made his point, “Because no matter what, you can’t fight the blood that runs in your veins.” He was right. No matter what effort I did here, it won’t change the fact that I was part of the royal bloodline.

I sighed and looked down in defeat.
