as everything drifts away

dripping water drops, the ticking of a clock

everything was abrupt; my life went black

my mind, body, and soul became heavy; I couldn't even pick up my purse

I thought living was a reward, but it feels like a lifelong curse

I just woke up one day

and realized that the things I thought would stay

are slowly drifting away because of what I've become

I drown in guilt and shame; in darkness, I succumb

I can't find my way; I am lost in the sand

I can't reach the ocean; I am stuck in a pond

I began losing every gorgeous thing that I had gained

including myself, that I lose over and over again
