Chapter 9

Katie pov

I worked at home the entire time. I followed her instructions to clean every room on the top level, but I was still bored, so I made the decision to spend the little money I had to go get some cream. I could see that this was a setting for the wealthy as I went outside.

As I continued to wander and take in everything, a car stopped and almost hit me. The driver of the vehicle apologized while lowering down the window.

She said, "I'm extremely sorry, I hope I didn't hit you". Her beauty had me mesmerized.

I answered with a smile, "No, you didn't".

She said, "Hop in, let me take you where you're going."

I graciously replied, "Thanks for the trip, I believe I'm okay" .

She implored, "I can see you don't have a ride and it would be hard getting one just accept my offer."

I considered it. I chose to accept the offer because I was unsure of how I would even acquire a ride.

I said, "Okay, let's go," as I got into the car. "Am I going to a cosmetics shop, anyone? Because I have no one in particular," I remarked, and we both laughed.

As she began to drive, she remarked, "Okay, let me be your ride for today, Am Ava."

I turned to face her and greeted her with a smile. "Am Katie," I said.

Looking at me, she remarked, "Such a wonderful name.

I said, "Your name doesn't sound bad either, I like it," and we carried on our conversation.

When we arrived at the store, I made the limited purchases that my money would allow, and I was ready to pay when she returned with items that I had little glanced at and hadn't picked. She asked the shopkeeper to bundle them all, and I stared at her in shock as she pulled out her credit card to make the purchase.

I responded in a low whisper, "You shouldn't pay for me and I don't need those".

She simply grinned silently, took her card, grabbed up the bag, and began tugging me away as we departed.

She said, "Let's get ice cream," all of a sudden.

I informed her she had exclaimed, "Yh I would never say no to food but am paying," and she grinned before responding.

"Ok," she said as she began to drive. She continued for several hours before coming to a stop.

She began shaking me and said, "Wakey wakey sleeping beauty."

"We've already arrived, it seems to have taken forever, and I'm starving". She chuckled before speaking.

I simply nodded in agreement as she led me to the restaurant, saying "Come on, let's go, I think there's a restaurant nearby we should fill your stomach before we get ice cream." After getting our lunch and sitting down to dine, we spoke while eating at the designated table. She paid for everything before we left to get ice cream, and as promised, I paid for the ice cream as soon as we decided to take a stroll inside the park.

We both sat down and spoke till it was becoming dark. Her hands were making circles on my body, and I could feel it. I enjoyed it. After a few minutes of silence, she turned to face me and began kissing. She nipped my lips as I asked for admittance after I let out a loud shout, shocking me.

I jerked away from the kiss and looked at Miss Alexander, who asked, "Katie, what are you doing?" without waiting for a response before tugging me. I was terrified but tried to suppress it.

When Ava arrived with the bag as soon as I started to enter the car, we were just about to do so. She appeared to have run there while exhaling heavily.

As soon as we turned around, she said, "Wait!" and handed us the bag. "Katie, can I have your phone number so we can get together again?" she requested, biting her bottom lip while looking at me.

As Miss Alexander pushed me inside the car and shut the door, she said, "No you can't get her number and you two are never going to see each other again."

Is that envious? I thought the car was very quiet—there was no music—and I thought to myself as Arden began the engine.

"Why did you leave without informing anyone?" She was already looking at me when I turned to face her. I kept searching my mind for an explanation, even though, now that I think about it, I left the house without telling anyone except the guy at the gate.

"I was bored and I needed to get something," I replied.

She asked me while still staring right in my face, "So you couldn't tell anyone you just left, what would I have done if something bad had happened to you?"

I said, "As if my presence here is not miserable enough. Nothing bad has occurred to me, and you saw that I was having the time of my life just before your decision to show up and ruin it".

All she said as she got out of the car and headed inside was, "You are not to ever leave the house alone and without informing me a day before you leave."

"Arden, I apologize for creating disturbance today." I expressed my profound regrets to the driver.

"I recommend that you apologize to Miss Alexander rather than me". All he said was, "I think she wants the best for you," and he also walked away.

I saw Maria at the door as soon as I walked in, and she instantly gave me a bear hug and threatened to spank me if I ever left the house again without telling her.

I said, "I would always let you know before I do anything sorry for today." She was more devoted and affectionate than my parents, therefore I already liked her.

She broke the hug, "You stink, go wash up and come and have dinner."

"Ok I will be down in a few I said walking up"

Before having a bath and coming downstairs to dine, I grabbed the bag containing the items I bought today—or rather, the items Ava bought for me—and put them in their proper locations.
