Chapter 14 The Accident

I knew Ben and Florence did that in other to execute their bad plans, I stood there for a long time, before they asked the security to throw me out.

I became depressed and devastated, I stared at the company's building, and said to myself "so I'm actually leaving this beautiful buildings without committing any crime?"

Before I entered my car, I saw the CEO peering at me from his office's balcony, standing with his hands in his pockets. I knew him too well, he doesn't talk much, and had a good mind, but I don't really know what Mrs Florence has said to him that made him act this way.

I stared back at him for a while as hot tears dripped down my cheeks, then I dipped my right hand inside my pocket to bring out my handkerchief, but it wasn't there, maybe I left it inside my office.

Just then one of the securities came by and gave me a handkerchief, saying that the CEO asked him to give it to me. I used the handkerchief to wipe my tears, and blew my nose, I entered my car, fastened my seat belt and drove off.

I couldn't help it but cried like a baby while driving. Right then, I didn't know nor remembered my destination anymore, my vision became blurry.

At that moment, I was really thinking on how I was going to take care of my family. Because before I married my wife, her family warned me to make sure she doesn't lack anything, or they would take her away from me and hand her over to someone that can provide all her needs.

My wife came from a royal and rich family, and her family is highly respected. She was actually a princess.

I was a student in my finals, when I first met her, she came to the market with her maids servants, I saw her and followed her immediately. I wanted to become more close to her but she was too hard to get, so I had no other choice but to go through a friend who has a higher rank in the Palace just to become a worker in the Palace, so that I can carry out my love plans.

I worked as one of the servants in the Palace in other for me to marry her. From working as a servant, her father assigned me as the head of the servants. I also worked very hard to make sure I wouldn't loose her to anyone.

There was this other Prince from another kingdom, asking for her hand in marriage, I was scared that I was going to loose her, so I worked so hard.

One day I walked up to the King and told him about the love I have for his daughter, that I would like to marry his daughter.

He laughed so loud that tears started coming out from his eyes.

Then he cleared his throat and said, "My son how can you get in with something that is not of your class? You cannot fall in love with my daughter the princess, she is of a royal blood, and if she wants to get married, she should get married to a royal blood too.

So my dear son, remove your mind from there, is not for you.

But I will help you, because I think you actually need help.

I want to make you an ambassador of our kingdom, and I think that would be okay, so just remove your mind from marrying my beautiful daughter.

I became devastated, so all my efforts was going to be in vain, I thought as I left the King's presence.

I thought about quitting the job, since all my efforts to marry the princess didn't work out. Just then, the princess and her maids passed, I stared at her beauty with smiles on my face, until she was out of sight, before someone tapped me on the shoulder, I turned to see who it was, and it was the Prince.

Hey, lover boy, so you came all the way from your home to the Palace just because of my sister, hmm...I guess you're really in love with my sister, I can feel your pains right now for not getting what you wanted after all your strong efforts.

You know what, my advice to you is to never quit, once you are sure that you sincerely want something, and you're eager to go for what you want, don't quit, just keep pushing until something happens, he said as he let out a heavy laughter and left.

He gave me the encouragement I needed at that time.

So I decided to keep on trying my best to see what heavens would bring forth.

I just followed all the King's order, I did everything he wanted me to do, in other for me to get what I wanted from him.

My parents called me from home and told me to come back home, they said that I mustn't marry the princess, that there are other beautiful girl out there.

They also told me that my brother and his wife were relocating to another town, I haven't set my eyes on them for a long time, and I needed to say goodbye to them.

I knew I had stayed too long away from home and my parents would soon asked me to come back home.

I missed my family and I missed home too, I had no choice but to continue my work in the Palace, where love is killing me.

After working in the Palace for some years, something happened.

I was accused of stealing and sending some money home to my family. so I was fired and asked to leave the Palace.

I packed my stuffs and left the Palace back to my place, I got home and my parents welcomed me, I wasn't happy leaving the Palace without the princess, but I had to obey the King's order to avoid bringing up more trouble to myself.

I related the whole stories to my parents and they told me that I should calm down,there are better days ahead, which I also believe them.

I spent few moments at home and decided to go back to the city, I wasn't going to stay in my hometown, I don't wanna keep remembering about the princess and the Palace, and my wasted efforts.

I put call on one of my friends "Mr Noble Stanley " to notify him that I would be coming back to the City.

He was a very good friend, so he was very happy to hear I was finally coming back to the city.

We lived and schooled together in the City, until I came home one certain time and met the princess at the market place and fell in love with her.

So I prepared to go back to the city.

I got ready to leave when a flashy car drove into our compound, my mom called out to me from the living,saying that I have visitors, I felt less concerned about that, I thought it could be some of my neighbouring friends, so I grabbed my bag to leave, I got to the living room and was surprised to see the King, his daughter and his family. You didn't inform us that you were coming to visit us, I was about going back to my base, before you guys came. Anyway, welcome and feel comfortable, I said and wondered why they came all the way from Palace to my home.

We offered them something to drink.

My dad cleared his throat and began, please what brought this sudden visit to my house?

If it was about the money that my son was accused of, I came to the Palace to pay the money immediately my son got home and related the whole stories to me, but you and your family refused to collect money, so I left. But if you still want your money back, I will still pay you right here.

My son didn't work in the Palace because of the money, rather he worked there because he fell in love with your daughter.

And my son didn't stole any money from the Palace, in certain about that.

That's not why we are here, he King said staring strong at my father.

We came here because your son Jay Wilson, passed our exams on marrying our daughter.

Everything we did to him was to see his loyalty and love towards my daughter, even the accusations was manipulated by me, to see his reactions but he was so calm, he obeys and carries out all my orders without any hesitation.

I wanted the best for my daughter, even the other Prince from the other kingdom was also put to taste, but he failed and couldn't pass even any.

Because I wanted a peaceful marriage for my daughter, that's why I brought her here, to the family that will cherish and love her without any bitterness or hatred.

And one more thing is that you should take good of my daughter, let her not lack anything, provide her with all her needs.

If you can't meet up with her needs, we would come back and take her home with us, and you know that there are still other men waiting to marry from the loyal family.

I paused my travelling back to base, I called my friend and notified him about the situation, he was very happy for me.

Because when I first told him about my love for the princess, he told me to go and try my possible best, if it works out for both of us, that would be cool, I should carry her and come back to the city. But if it doesn't work out, I should still come back alone to the city.

But I finally succeed.

We prepared for our wedding, there was joyous celebration everywhere.

I married her, brought her home and left to the city with her.

Few months after our marriage, she got pregnant for me and bore me a beautiful daughter. An Angel.

I didn't let my wife indulge in any activities, so I provided every of her needs.

Until our daughter became five year old, that was when I opened a very big supermarket for her.

It was just one month after opening the supermarket for her that I was fired from my job.

So I couldn't bear the pains of making my lovely wife and beautiful daughter pass through unpleasant moments, I remembered how much I suffered before she was handed over to me to marry.

All this things raced through my mind while I was still driving my car.

With all the heavy thoughts in my mind, I didn't remember I was still on high speed, until I saw a big truck coming down with speed towards my direction, with his truck lights shinning on me through the windscreen, with continuous heavy horn, at that time, I couldn't see for the moment.

I said to myself that after I drive pass this big truck, I was going to yell at the driver for being so stupid and not going through a proper driving school.

But I lost control of my steering as I collided with the truck
