The New Gym in Town?

The episode starts with the gang at the Pokémon Center with Jessie talking to Professor Oak on the phone.

"My Rapidash has recovered?!" Jessie exclaimed with a smile.

"Yep! Rapidash's horn has fully recovered and is ready to be sent back towards you!" Professor Oak responded, also smiling. "Would you like Rapidash back, Jessie?"

Jessie immediately nods. "Yes, pretty please!"

"On it!" Professor Oak leaves the screen for a little bit and comes back with Rapidash's Poké Ball in his hand. He places the Poké Ball inside his transporting machine.

On Jessie's side, the Pokémon Center's transporting machine triggers and there's Rapidash's Poké Ball inside which Jessie happily accepts. "Thank you so much, professor!"

"Anytime, Jessie!" Professor Oak ends the call.

Domino, while rubbing her blue Pokémon Egg, Meowth, and James were all talking with each other until they saw that Jessie's call with Professor Oak had ended as all three of them walked towards her.

"Is that Rapidash's Poké Ball?" Domino asked.

Jessie nods with a smile. "Yep! Rapidash is back with me, fully recovered!"

James smiles back. "That's great, Jessie!"

"I have to say, Rapidash is pretty impressive," Meowth admits.

"Rapidash, come on out!" Jessie sends out her Rapidash.

Rapidash materializes. "Neigh!"

Jessie rushes over to her Rapidash and hugs it. "I'm so happy you have fully recovered. I miss you, Rapidash!"

Rapidash nuzzles its trainer with a happy expression. "Neigh!"

Two people appear in view, talking to each other. "There's a new Gym in Cinnabar Island?" "Yeah! Honestly, after Blaine was refusing challenges it's about time we get a new Gym!" The two people pass by.

The gang all looked at each other with a confused look. "There's a new Gym in Cinnabar Island?" They all said.

The title screen appears.

"The New Gym in Town?"

It cuts to the gang walking on the streets of Cinnabar Island.

Domino is wiping her blue Pokémon Egg with a washcloth. "You're going to become a very cute Pokémon, are you, huh?"

Meowth laughs. "Are you serious?"

Domino glares at the talking Pokémon. "What's wrong with taking care of my egg?"

"It's not that." Meowth shrugs. "It's just the way you're talking to it like that but it hasn't hatched yet."

"I'm giving my hopes that this adorable creature inside can hear me!" Domino hugs her blue Pokémon Egg.

Jessie and James looked at each other with a weirded-out expression and they just shrug to each other.

The familiar voice of the gang calls out Jessie's name. "Jessie!" It was Leaf, she sprints towards the gang.

Jessie smiles and waves at Leaf to greet her. "Hey Leaf! How are you doing?"

"Pretty good, thanks for asking. So I heard there's a brand new Gym in Cinnabar Island and I'm heading there to check it out." Leaf says.

"That's where we're headed too! We also heard about another new Gym in Cinnabar Island!" Jessie replied.

"Wait. So does that mean there are two Gyms on Cinnabar Island? Blaine's Gym and whatever this new Gym is?" James questioned.

"I guess so?" Meowth replied with a shrug. "But hey, this means you and Leaf can already get your eighth Gym badge right now for the Kanto League Tournament!"

Leaf starts talking to herself quietly. "I was looking forward to that Gym in Viridian City." She shrugs. "But oh well!"

"What was that, Leaf?" Jessie questioned.

"Nothing! Come on, let's go to this new Gym in town!" Leaf says as she continues walking her way to the supposedly new Gym on Cinnabar Island.

"Hey Leaf, wait up!" Jessie sprints to Leaf to catch up with her and her friends also follow her as well.

It cuts to the gang, with Leaf, arriving towards the building of the new Gym with a person with green hair, dressed up as a bodyguard, standing in front of the double doors.

"I guess this is the place?" Jessie questioned.

"Must be," Leaf responded. "Let's go!"

The gang and Leaf walk towards the entrance where the green-haired bodyguard spots them.

The green-haired bodyguard quietly whistles in his walkie-talkie. "It's the twerps and that Eevee trainer." And just like that, the green-haired bodyguard was revealed to be Butch from Team Rocket in disguise.

It cuts inside the Gym where it appears to be a woman with blonde hair, Cassidy, disguised as a Gym Leader. She replies to Butch with a walkie-talkie of her own. "Good! I knew they couldn't resist the new 'Gym' opening in town!" She grins.

It cuts back to outside as the gang approaches a disguised bodyguard Butch.

Butch clears his throat. "What can I help you, trainers?" He asked the gang and Leaf.

The gang and also Leaf all looked at each other before Leaf decided to speak up. "Me and Jessie would like to challenge whoever Gym Leader runs this Gym!"

Jessie is about to speak up about Leaf deciding for her, but drops it and nods. "Yeah!"

Disguised Butch nods. "Very well, you may enter the Gym!" He steps aside, allowing the gang and Leaf to enter this supposedly Gym.

It cuts to the back door opening, where disguised Gym Leader Cassidy is, waiting for someone as she is tapping her foot impatiently. "Where is he?!"

The sound of someone sprinting can be heard and it was Mondo, sprinting towards Cassidy, stopping and catching his breath once reaching her. "That's my workout for the day…"

"So, have you got the borrowed Pokémon like I asked?" Cassidy asked.

Mondo was still catching his breath, but he held up two Poké Balls in his hands, signaling that he did. "What's the point of borrowing Pokémon from the Team Rocket base?"

Cassidy takes the two Poké Balls from Mondo's hands. "Well duh, Mondo it's simple. We're trying to successfully steal Meowth with this fake Gym plan and we can't let the twerps recognize the Pokémon that we used in the battle!"

"Oh, I guess that makes sense," Mondo admits.

Cassidy hands Mondo a shovel and an electricity box device. "Now take these and go underground!"

"Umm… why?" Mondo questioned, still accepting them anyway.

Cassidy's walkie-talkie goes off, it was Butch. "Cassidy, the twerps, and the Eevee trainer are heading inside the Gym!"

"I'll explain later, just start digging!" Cassidy heads back inside the Gym.

"Okay?" Mondo shrugs and begins digging underground.

It cuts to the battle stadium of this supposedly Gym with the gang and Leaf all looking around the stadium.

"It sure does feel like a Pokémon Gym," Jessie says.

"It does, but I'm not one hundred percent sure it is. Maybe it's just the fact that new things in town have my suspicion." Leaf added.

James nods in agreement. "Tell me about it!"

A feminine voice is heard, greeting the gang and Leaf. "Hello!" Disguised Gym Leader Cassidy enters the area, waving at them.

"You must be the Gym Leader of this new Gym?" Domino asked.

Disguised Cassidy nods in agreement with a smile. "Yep, that's me! My name's Cacey and I always wanted to become a Gym Leader when I was a little girl!"

Domino smiles. "Me too!"

Disguised Cassidy continues with her explanation. "I worked hard to become one and when the Pokémon League gave me a call and said that I could have a Gym in Cinnabar Island to compete against Blaine, I automatically took the deal and now I'm here!"

Meowth rolls his eyes. "Give me a break. One Gym Leader is enough." He says quietly to himself.

"Well, I'm glad that you're living in your dream, miss!" James says with a bow.

"Aww shucks, thank you, kind fella! So who wants to compete to win a 'Root Badge'? Disguised Cassidy holds up apparently a Gym Badge, it's shaped like an R and it's made of wood.

Jessie raises her hand. "Me and Leaf would like to compete please."

Leaf nods. "I hope you're ready!"

"Oh! That reminds me, I still need to get my Pokémon for the battle!" Disguised Cassidy lied. "I'll be right back!" She heads to the back room of this supposed Gym.

Leaf growls. "Are you kidding me?!"

Jessie tries to reason to calm Leaf down. "Calm down, Leaf. It is her first day as a Gym Leader after all."

Leaf just crosses her arms but stops growling. "I guess you're right…"

It cuts to the back room of the Gym, Cassidy lets out the two Pokémon that Mondo gave her from the Team Rocket base to borrow.

Both of the two Pokémon materialize. "Doduo!" "Lickitung!"

Cassidy raises her eyebrow, questioning the two Pokémon. "A Doduo and a Lickitung? Whatever, I guess this will do. I got a job for you two and you both will listen to me. Got it?"

Doduo and Lickitung both look at each other and then back at Cassidy, nodding in agreement. "Doduo!" "Lickitung!"

Cassidy grins. "Perfect!"

It cuts back to where the gang and Leaf are, at the battlefield, waiting for the 'Gym Leader' to return. James and Domino are talking to each other, Meowth is minding his own business, Jessie is looking at her seven badges in her badge case, and Leaf has her arms crossed, tapping her foot impatiently.

Eventually, Disguised Cassidy enters back on the battlefield with a happy look on her face. "I'm back with my Pokémon, sorry for the wait everyone!"

"About time! Come on, let's get these Gym battles underway!" Leaf demanded.

"Hold on now, I should know who would be battling little old me first!" Disguised Cassidy says with a big smile.

"I am!" Leaf immediately rushes towards the Gym's battlefield. "Come on, let's go!"

"Okay, someone's a little impatient!" Disguised Cassidy giggles. "Although, there are a few rules here we have in this Gym."

"Rules?" Jessie questioned. "What are the rules?"

Domino and James both notice the disguised green hair bodyguard, oblivious to them that it's Butch, has entered the Gym and leans on the wall. Disguised Cassidy secretly presses a button, then the double doors of the Gym and the back door close shut, trapping the gang and Leaf.

"HUH?!" The gang and Leaf all yelled out in shock from seeing that they were completely trapped now.

Disguised Cassidy starts explaining with a smile on her face. "You see, we want our challengers to make sure they leave this Gym with a Root Badge in their case! So we decided to block off the entrance until you two earn the badge for this Gym!"

"I mean, I guess that's not bad," Leaf says.

Disguised Cassidy holds up a finger. "One more rule before we battle. I will admit that I am not really a great Gym Leader. It's impossible to lose against me, so if you somehow do, I will gladly take one of your Pokémon of my choosing!"

"No way! You can't do that!" Jessie says with an angry look.

"Yeah! Did the Pokémon League really approve these rules for your Gym?!" James added.

Cassidy giggles cutely to stay in disguise. "Well silly, why do you think my little old Gym exists? Everything's been approved!"

"Fine, so be it!" Leaf raises her fist in the air. "Let's get this battle going!"

Jessie looks on at Leaf, impressed. "Wow, Leaf… you're brave."

"Well, we're not getting out of here until the both of us win, so I must battle this girl!" Leaf responded.

"This battle will be two-on-two, Gym Leader can't make substitutions. Do you agree with the rules?" Disguised Cassidy asked.

Leaf nods to agree with the rules. "I do!"

Disguised Cassidy pulls out a Poké Ball. "Doduo, step up to battle!" She sends Doduo out to battle.

Doduo materializes. "Doduo!"

Leaf pulls out a Poké Ball. "Lapras, I choose you!" She sends out Lapras into battle.

Lapras materializes. "La!"

Domino immediately has hearts for eyes once seeing Leaf's Lapras. "O.M.G it's Lapras!"

Meowth rolls her eyes at Domino. "Thanks, Sherlock."

Disguised Cassidy makes the first move of this battle. "Doduo, show her your Agility!"

Doduo starts appearing and reappearing from its fast speed.

"That's not going to help you! Lapras, use Ice Beam!" Leaf commanded.

A light blue ball of energy forms in front of Lapras's mouth and then light blue beams of energy shoot out of it at Doduo.

Doduo looks back at disguised Cassidy as she nods and then Doduo proceeds to jump into the Ice Beam and then falls to the ground. The Pokémon isn't getting back up, signaling that it has fainted.

Disguised Cassidy pretends to be in shock by gasping. "Oh no, my little Doduo!"

Domino looks at James with a suspicious look. "Hey James, did you see that Doduo actually jumped into that Ice Beam?"

James looks back at Domino. "It did? Maybe it tried to dodge the Ice Beam and accidentally jumped into it by accident?"

"Hmm… I guess that could be the case." Domino looks at Jessie, who's watching the battle near Leaf. "I just hope Jessie is growing suspicious as well by thinking about that."

"Wow! Leaf is such a strong trainer!" Jessie said in her thoughts, a completely different outcome from what Domino said.

Disguised Cassidy recalls Doduo back in its Poké Ball. "Wow, you took out my Doduo with one move! I guess you are a very strong trainer!"

Leaf has a confident look on her face. "I guess you could say that!"

Disguised Cassidy pulls out a different Poké Ball. "Lickitung, you're up!" She sends Lickitung into battle.

Lickitung materializes. "Lickitung!"

Disguised Cassidy commands the first move once more in this round. "Lickitung, use Slam!"

"Lapras, withdraw into your shell quickly!" Leaf counters.

Lickitung jumps up in the air, aiming to slam down towards Lapras. The transportation Pokémon quickly withdraws into its shell then Lickitung slams down onto the top of Lapras' shell.

"Lickitung!" Lickitung cries in pain before falling back to the ground and proceeds to faint in battle.

Once more, disguised Cassidy pretends to be shocked. "Oh no, my sweet little Lickitung!"

"Haha, right on Lapras!" Leaf gives her Pokémon a thumbs-up.

"Wow, Lapras didn't even make a damaging move and they still won the battle," Domino says to James.

"Hmm… I guess this Gym Leader hasn't been in a Pokémon battle until now." James responded.

"Some Gym Leader, the league approved her?" Meowth questioned with a confused tone.

Disguised Cassidy recalls her Lickitung and walks towards Leaf. "For beating me in a Gym battle, I present you with the Root Badge!" She holds up the supposedly Gym Badge for Leaf and hands it to her.

Leaf nods and accepts the Root Badge. "Thanks!"

"Maybe this Gym is legit!" Jessie sprints onto the side of the battlefield. "I'm challenging you, next!"

Disguised Cassidy giggles. "Well, aren't you excited to battle me! I need to heal my Pokémon first before I do. I'll be right back!" She heads to the back room of the building.

It cuts to the back room of the building, and Cassidy sends out Doduo and Lickitung.

Both of the Pokémon materialize and they look completely fine, not tired at all from the battle with Leaf. "Lickitung!" "Doduo!"

Cassidy compliments the two with a smile. "That's some nice acting you two! You definitely fooled them into thinking that you actually fainted in battle!"

"Doduo!" "Lickitung!" Both Pokémon cried out happily.

Cassidy pulls out her walkie-talkie. "Mondo, come in Mondo, are you under the battlefield?"

Mondo picks up from his side. "This is Mondo, I am under the battlefield."

"Okay, with that electrical device, I want you to place it under the battlefield," Cassidy commanded.

Mondo plants the electrical device right under the battlefield. "Okay, got it!"

Cassidy continues with her explanation. "Okay, once you hear the move 'Thunderbolt' I want you to turn on that electrical device, that way it will send a complete electrical shock all over the battlefield. Did you get all of that?"

"Yes, I did get all of that, loud and clear!" Mondo responded.

"Excellent." Cassidy puts her walkie-talkie away and looks at the two Pokémon in front of her. "Okay, with this next battle against the twerp, we're not acting anymore. I want you two to battle this time and don't pretend to faint anymore. Am I clear?"

Both Lickitung and Doduo nodded in response. "Lickitung!" "Doduo!"

Cassidy grins. "Great! If this plan succeeds, Team Rocket will finally have that talking Meowth in our grasp once and for all!"

It cuts to the battlefield room of the building where Jessie and the rest are still waiting for this supposedly Gym Leader to arrive back.

"Does it take her this long to heal her two Pokémon?" Jessie questioned.

"Maybe she had to rush to the Pokémon Center?" Domino assumed.

Meowth starts questioning. "Don't Gym Leaders have their little healing machines to automatically heal their Pokémon so that they can automatically be ready for the next challenger?"

"You know, I never thought of that." Lead admitted.

"As a substitute Gym Leader once, I can confirm that we do have that," James confirmed.

"SORRY FOR KEEPING YOU ALL WAITING!" Disguised Cassidy sprints back in on the battlefield. "It's just that I don't have my little Pokémon healing machine, it isn't ready yet, so I had to make a quick stop at the Pokémon Center. Please forgive me." Disguised Cassidy bows to apologize to Jessie.

"Hey, you're fine, it's okay! I understand, Cacey!" Jessie raises her fist. "Let's just get this Gym battle underway!"

Disguised Cassidy secretly grins as she pulls out a Poké Ball. "Certainly! Lickitung, you're up first!" She sends Lickitung into battle.

Lickitung materializes. "Lickitung!"

Jessie pulls out a Poké Ball. "Blastoise, I choose you!" Jessie sends her first Pokémon in this battle.

Blastoise materializes. "Blastoise!"

Disguised Cassidy starts the battle with the first move. "Lickitung, use Supersonic

Thin, blue sound waves are emitted from Lickitung's mouth at Blastoise.

"Blastoise!" Blastoise cries out in pain from the piercing ringing sound, it tries to close its ears to block out the sound, but it's too late as Blastoise is now confused.

Jessie grits her teeth. "Crap, Blastoise is confused! Okay Blastoise, try to fight that confusion and use Hydro Pump!"

Despite the fact of being confused, Blastoise manages to fight it and still can use Hydro Pump by sending flows of water right at Lickitung from its canons on its shell.

"Lickitung!" Lickitung cries in pain from getting hit by the Hydro Pump, getting flung back, and falling on the ground.

Jessie smiles and snaps her fingers. "That should be the end of the round!" Until she notices Lickitung moving. "Huh?"

Lickitung gets back up, still able to battle. "Lickitung!"

This causes Jessie and the others to express confusion because of the last battle of Lickitung being defeated by one move.

Domino starts questioning the logic. "Either Leaf's Pokémon is very strong or Jessie's Pokémon is very weak?"

James shrugs. "I don't know, but it's gonna be an interesting battle now!"

Disguised Cassidy smiles. "That's right Lickitung, hang in there and use Slam!"

"Lickitung!" Lickitung jumps up in the air and prepares to slam itself upon Blastoise.

"Maybe I can do the same thing Leaf did?" Jessie quietly says to herself. "Blastoise, withdraw into your shell!"

Blastoise scratches its head, the confusion affecting the Pokémon and then Lickitung slams itself right onto Blastoise's head. "Blastoise!" The shellfish cries in pain from getting slammed upon the head.

Jessie grits her teeth in frustration. "That annoying confusion! Alright Blastoise, Skull Bash!"

Blastoise quickly dashed toward Lickitung, extending its head out to bash the Pokémon with its skull.

Disguised Cassidy quickly calls out a counter. "Defense Curl, Lickitung!"

Lickitung curls itself up in the shape of a round ball, Blastoise hits Lickitung with its skull, but the damage was dealt to Blastoise instead from the Defense Curl.

"Blastoise!" Blastoise once more cries in pain and begins holding its head from the amount of pain it took from its head in this battle.

"Stay with me, Blastoise, and use Hydro Pump!" Jessie commanded.

Once more, the confusion catches up to Blastoise as the Shellfish Pokémon scratches the side of its head once more.

Jessie looks down in sadness. "Oh no, not again…"

Disguised Cassidy quickly tools the advantage of a confused Blastoise. "Lickitung, use Slam!"

"Lickitung!" Lickitung jumps up in the air, ready to slam down towards Blastoise.

Jessie tries to counter it again by gritting her teeth. "Come on Blastoise, withdraw into your shell!"

Blastoise shakes its head to snap out of confusion and then manages to withdraw into its shell as Lickitung ends up slamming down towards Blastoise's shell, but Lickitung hops down and lands on its feet, still ready to go for battle.

"What?!" Jessie exclaimed in disbelief from seeing Lickitung still able to battle. "But that strategy caused your Lickitung to faint in Leaf's battle!"

"Oopsies! I forgot to tell you that I did a little training with my Pokémon when I was heading back from the Pokémon Center." Disguised Cassidy giggles, secretly grinning.

"I don't get it. She had all of that time to train her Pokémon to actually be this good in battle?" Domino questioned.

"I feel like something suspicious is going on here," Leaf stated.

James nods in agreement. "Tell me about it."

Meowth looks into his bowl and realizes he is out of popcorn. "Man! I'm out of popcorn!"

"Supersonic!" Disguised Cassidy commanded.

"Lickitung!" Lickitung makes blue waves from its mouth and they start heading towards Blastoise.

"Blastoise, withdraw into your shell quickly!" Jessie countered.

Blastoise quickly withdraws into its shell as the blue sound waves from Lickitung's mouth reflect Blastoise's shell, preventing confusion.

Disguised Cassidy looks at Jessie, still grinning. "I have to say, you are a good Pokémon battler, but not for this. Lickitung, jump up in the air, and use Thunderbolt!"

"That thing can learn electric-type moves?!" Jessie said in disbelief.

Lickitung jumps up in the air. "Lickitung!" Electricity starts flowing in Lickitung's body and the Pokémon shoots a blast of electricity right at Blastoise.

Meanwhile, under the battlefield where Mondo is at. "Thunderbolt! That's my cue!" Mondo switches the electric device on.

Back at the battlefield, the whole battlefield gets surrounded by electricity, hitting Blastoise, and then Lickitung's Thunderbolt also hits the shellfish Pokémon, doubling the super-effective damage. Blastoise slowly withdrew out of its shell and it instantly fainted from battle.

"NO WAY!" Jessie said in disbelief.

"Did you see how strong that Thunderbolt was from Lickitung?! It also completely surrounded the battlefield!" Domino pointed out.

"Somehow this Gym Leader went from worse to good?!" Leaf added.

James looks at Leaf. "Maybe you're just a strong trainer, Leaf."

"Blastoise, return!" Jessie recalls Blastoise in its Poké Ball and looks at it. "You did great, you deserve a nice long rest." She then looks at the Lickitung and pulls out her Pokédex, aiming it at the Pokémon. "What's this Lickitung about?"

"Lickitung, the Licking Pokémon. Normal type. Its tongue spans almost 7 feet and moves more freely than its forelegs. Its licks can cause paralysis."

Disguised Cassidy shrugs. "Well since you're about to lose, I'll tell you what Pokémon I want and that's-" Cassidy points at Meowth. "That talking Meowth!"

Meowth spits the soda out that he is currently drinking. "ME?!"

Jessie growls and looks at her talking Pokémon. "I told you to keep your mouth shut when we're facing people that we don't know!" Then she turns to face her opponent. "And it's far from over, I still have one Pokémon left!"

Disguised Cassidy crosses her arms with a smirk. "Then bring it on!"

Jessie pulls out a Poké Ball. "Electabuzz, I choose you!" She sends Electabuzz into battle.

Electabuzz materializes. "ELEBUBUBU!"

Disguised Cassidy commands the first move of this round. "Lickitung, use Supersonic!"

"Dodge it, Electabuzz!" Jessie quickly counters.

Lickitung releases blue sound waves from its mouth right at Electabuzz, but the electric Pokémon quickly keeps dodging each sound wave by jumping out of the way over and over.

Jessie immediately commands the next move. "Screech!"

Electabuzz screeches right at Lickitung. "ELEBUBUBU!"

"Lickitung…" Lickitung shivers in fear and takes a step back as its defense lowers two stages.

Disguised Cassidy growls. "Don't be scared of that electric tiger and use Slam!"

Lickitung jumped up in the air and was about to slam down towards the electric Pokémon.

"Dodge that move too!" Jessie countered once more.

Once more, Electabuzz dodges the move again by sliding out of the way, which causes Lickitung to slam hard onto the ground. "Lickitung!" The licking Pokémon cries in pain.

Disguised Cassidy stomps her foot in anger. "Come on Lickitung, hit that Electabuzz so that we can win and get that Pokémon!"

"That's odd… this Gym Leader isn't as nice then with her battle against Leaf?" Domino pointed out.

"Hey, you're right! That is odd indeed!" James added.

Leaf looks at Meowth. "Seems like this Gym Leader really wants Jessie's Meowth."

Meowth shrugs. "Yeah, a lot of people do want me, because I'm so good-looking!"

Domino, James, and Leaf all groan in annoyance at Meowth's selfishness as it cuts back to the battle.

"Electabuzz hit that Lickitung with a Thunder!" Jessie commanded.

Disguised Cassidy quickly counters. "Quick, Defense Curl!"

"ELEBUBUBU!" Electabuzz charges its antennas with electricity and blasts it right at Lickitung, but the licking Pokémon quickly curls into a ball, deflecting the move from taking damage.

Jessie grits her teeth. "Looks like I'm going to have to use a nondamaging move to make that Lickitung uncurl. Electabuzz, use Light Screen!"

"ELEBUBUBU!" Electabuzz puts its hands in front of its body and a clear or yellow glass-like screen of energy appears in front of it.

Disguised Cassidy starts to quietly think to herself. "I know it's an electric type, but a powerful Thunderbolt especially from underground just might do the trick." Then she commands Lickitung out loud. "Alright Lickitung, Thunderbolt!"

Lickitung uncurls out of the ball. "Lickitung!" The licking Pokémon jumps up in the air, its body surrounded with electricity, and blasts it at Electabuzz.

Meanwhile, underground, Mondo hears the term 'Thunderbolt' and turns on the device. "They're in for a shock of a lifetime!" He laughs.

Jessie counters with something that the gang, Leaf, and even disguised Cassidy and Butch haven't heard. "Electabuzz, use that Light Screen to absorb Lickitung's Thunderbolt!"

"WHAT?!" Disguised Cassidy yelled out in shock.

The electricity begins to hit the Light Screen, Electabuzz closes its eyes and begins taking and absorbing all the electricity that Lickitung sent towards with that Thunderbolt and also the electricity on the ground from the device as well, but it came with a cost because Electabuzz was also taking damage as well. The Light Screen breaks, but what results is an Electabuzz with its body surrounded by electricity as the electric Pokémon's electric power increases by a lot.

"ELEBUBUBU!" Electabuzz screeches out.

Domino, James, Leaf, and Meowth all gasp and smile at Electabuzz's current situation. "Look at Electabuzz!" "The Light Screen completely doubled or even tripled Electabuzz's electricity power!" "Wow, mama's girl is pretty impressive." "I'm even impressed as well and that's almost impossible to do!"

Disguised Cassidy gulps. "Uh oh…"

Jessie clutches her fist. "Alright, Electabuzz hit it with a Thunder!"

"ELEBUBUBU!" Electabuzz sends out a very powerful Thunder right at Lickitung and it strikes the licking Pokémon.

"LICKITUNG!" Lickitung yells out completely experiencing the most pain it has ever suffered in its lifetime. Lickitung immediately falls to the battlefield floor and faints in battle.

Disguised Butch's eyes widened from what just happened. "What the hell…?" He says quietly.

After using all of its powerful electricity on Lickitung, electricity stops surrounding Electabuzz's body and the electric Pokémon starts taking deep breaths from exhaustion.

"Hang in there, Electabuzz. We still have one Pokémon to go!" Jessie exclaimed.

Disguised Cassidy angrily pulls out a Poké Ball. "You better finish the job. Doduo, go!" She sends out Doduo to battle.

Doduo materializes. "Doduo!"

Jessie commands the first move. "Electabuzz, use Screech!"

Electabuzz takes a deep breath and screeches at Doduo. "ELEBUBUBU!"

"Doduo…" Doduo shakes for a little bit from being scared and its defense drops two stages.

"Come on, don't be scared of that electric tiger! Use Fury Attack!" Disguised Cassidy commanded.

"Dodge it, Electabuzz!" Jessie countered.

Doduo jumps up in the air and lands on Electabuzz, the electric Pokémon was taken by surprise and couldn't dodge it. Doduo starts striking and stabbing Electabuzz with both of its beaks over and over.

"Use Thunderbolt to get Doduo off of you!" Jessie commanded.

"Get off of Electabuzz's head quickly, Doduo!" Cassidy countered.

Electabuzz starts charging up with power as its body starts getting surrounded by electricity. Doduo notices this and quickly jumps back, off of Electabuzz's head, and back on the battlefield.

However, underground, Mondo heard the term 'Thunderbolt'. "Time for a shock of a lifetime!" He turns the electric device on, oblivious that it was Jessie the one who said it and not Cassidy.

The whole battlefield gets surrounded by electricity which is no good for Doduo, as the Pokémon gets electrocuted, but Electabuzz releases powerful bolts of yellow lightning from its horns right at Doduo.

"DODUO!" Doduo screams out in pain from taking so much damage from the floor electricity and Electabuzz's Thunderbolt too. The Pokémon immediately faints in battle after getting struck by such super-effective power.

Disguised Cassidy's eyes widened in such shock after realizing she lost the battle. Butch spit out his drink from shock from witnessing what happened.

"YOU DID IT, ELECTABUZZ!" Jessie runs up to her electric Pokémon and hugs the electric tiger.

Electabuzz has a happy expression. "Elebububu!"

Meanwhile, Domino, James, Meowth, and Leaf were all smiling from the sidelines. "Jessie did it! She won!" "You can always count on Jessie to find a way to win!" "That's my trainer!" "Not bad for a mama's girl!"

Disguised Cassidy slowly recalls Doduo in its Poké Ball, she turns around and quietly speaks in her walkie-talkie to secretly communicate with her partners-in-crime. "Time for Plan B."

"Hey!" Jessie said to the 'Gym Leader' causing Disguised Cassidy to turn back around to face her. "I beat you, so you have to give me a Root Badge, right?"

"Oh, I'll give you something, alright!" Disguised Cassidy grins and hits a button.

Suddenly the Team Rocket hot air balloon crashes in from the roof, creating a big hole, and a metal hand from under the hot air balloon extends and grabs Meowth, then retreats.

The gang and Leaf, including Electabuzz, gasped at what was happening as Jessie yelled out. "MEOWTH!"

"And that's trouble!" Disguised Cassidy finished her sentence from earlier.

Disguised Butch joins her from behind. "And all of you can make that double!"

"To infect the world with devastation!"

"To blight all people within every nation!"

"To denounce the goodness of truth and love!"

"To extend our wrath to the stars above!"

Cassidy rips off her disguise. "Cassidy!"

Butch also follows up by ripping off his disguise too. "And Butch of course!"

"We're Team Rocket, circling Earth all day and night!"

"Surrender to us now you will surely lose the fight!"

The ground below right next to Cassidy and Butch opens up a hole as Mondo jumps out from it to make his entrance. "I'm Mondo, alright!"

Muk appears out of nowhere to complete the motto. "Muk!"

All of Team Rocket hold their noses and groan from Muk's stench.

"Who asked you to come out of your Poké Ball?!" Cassidy quickly recalls her Muk back in her Poké Ball.

"TEAM ROCKET!" Jessie grits her teeth in frustration, as the gang and Leaf quickly join with her by her side.

"You three bozos again?!" Leaf said with an annoyed expression.

"We would like to stay, but we're in a hurry!" Cassidy said, pulling out a grappling hook, aiming at the basket of their hot air balloon, shooting it and she goes up with her partners-in-crime holding on.

"So bye-bye!" Team Rocket all said together before their hot air balloon started ascending with Meowth below the basket in the metal claws grasped.

"Let me go, you idiots!" Meowth was grabbed in a position where he couldn't use his claws to scratch, he tried to shock it with electricity, but the metal claw was electric-proof.

"Silly kitty, electricity isn't going to work!" Cassidy says with a grin.

"So you can forget about shocking your way out of here!" Butch added with a grin on his own.

"So you could say that we're far from idiots!" Mondo says with a laugh.

Jessie was looking up with a frustrated look. "We have to save Meowth!"

"I think I know how!" Leaf pulls out a Pokémon Ball. "Lapras, aim your Ice Beam right at Team Rocket's burner!" She sends out her Lapras.

Lapras materializes. "La!" The transport Pokémon opens its mouth and a light blue ball of energy forms in front of Lapras's mouth, and light blue beams of energy shoot out of it at Team Rocket's hot air balloon burner, completely freezing it.

Team Rocket stops ascending as they look at their frozen burner and gulps. "This can't be good!" All three said together as they started plummeting back down to the ground while the three and Meowth started screaming.

Jessie quickly pulls out a Poké Ball and throws it in the air. "Scizor, break that claw holding Meowth with your Metal Claw!"

Scizor materializes while in the air. "Scizor!" The Pokémon quickly dashes to the claw, breaks it, and frees Meowth.

Jessie quickly runs to where Meowth is going to fall and catches him. "Got ya!" She sighs in relief. "That was a close one!"

Meanwhile, Team Rocket fully crashes into the ground as all three members are on the ground and groaning in pain.

Jessie turns her attention back to Team Rocket with a glare. "Meowth and Electabuzz, use Thunderbolt!"

"Let's do this, bud!" "Elebububu!" Both Meowth and Electabuzz send a powerful electricity Thunderbolt right at Team Rocket.

Team Rocket starts screaming in pain from getting electrocuted as their hot air balloon explodes behind them by the powerful Thunderbolt, blasting them off through the hole the trio made from their hot air balloon. "WE'RE BLASTING OFF AGAIN!" Ding!

The gang and Leaf all looked up where Team Rocket blasted off with smiles on their faces.

Jessie turns to Leaf. "I have to say Leaf, your Lapras saved my Meowth!"

Domino slides Jessie out of the way with hearts in her eyes while looking at Leaf. "YEAH! YOUR LAPRAS WAS LIKE SUPER DUPER AMAZING! WHERE CAN I GET ONE?! CAN YOU TRADE YOURS WITH ONE OF MY POKÉMON?! HAVE I EVER TOLD YOU THAT I LOVE YOUR LAPRAS?!"

Leaf's eyes widened in shock with nothing to say. "Umm…"

James pulls on Domino's ear and begins dragging her away from Leaf. "I think you should dry up, water girl."

Meowth laughs. "That was too perfect there!"

Jessie notices something on the ground and it is apparently a Root Badge and picks it up. "I don't think the Pokémon League is gonna recognize this as a legit badge."

"I was gonna throw it in the trash anyways. I'm aiming for the badge in Viridian City!"

Jessie looks at Leaf with confusion. "Viridian City? I thought Viridian City didn't have a Gym?"

"Well, at first they didn't when we first arrived there, Jessie," Domino stated.

James nods. "But I believe I heard about the Gym being built around after we had that crazy adventure in Cerulean City. We were too far away to go back."

All of a sudden, Officer Jenny busted out what was blocking the double doors, technically freeing the gang and Leaf. "Are you all okay?"

Jessie nods. "Yep! Everything is okay, officer!"

Officer Jenny smiles and nods. "Good! Oh, and I want to tell you that the whirlpools are now gone and you all can officially leave the island now by sea!"

"YES!" Everyone said in delight.

It cuts to the gang and Leaf walking on the streets of Cinnabar Island.

"Hey Jessie, do you mind if I can come with you and your friends?" Leaf asked. "I mean, I believe our next stop is Viridian City and we could train together while we're heading there..." she awkwardly rubs her arm.

Jessie immediately nods with a smile. "I wouldn't mind at all, you for sure can come with us!"

"Yes!" Leaf pumps her fist in the air. "And we're having Lapras transport us off this island!"

"Hold on wait a second, let's have my Blastoise do that!" Jessie countered with her suggestion.

"Jessie, Lapras is known as the 'transport Pokémon' so Lapras would be the better option," James stated.

"And I love Lapras, so I have to agree with James here," Domino added.

Meowth just replies with one word. "Lapras."

Jessie looks down and groans. "You guys never go with my options!"

It cuts to the dock of Cinnabar Island with Lapras in the water. Leaf and the gang all get on the Pokémon's shell, and then Leaf points at the horizon, signaling Lapras to start swimming as it does so.

"With another one of Team Rocket's plans foiled by Jessie and her friends, Leaf joins Jessie and her friends to their next stop, which is at Viridian City where they have their sights set on their eighth badge to officially compete in the Kanto Pokémon League Tournament!
