Chapter 2 - Beginning of the Bout

Yun Xialuo woke up to find himself in an unfamiliar surrounding. "You woke up?" A soft tone filled with worry reached his ears. Baffled that no one would speak to him like this, next to him, he opened his eyes to see his eldest senior looking after him on the bed.

Feng Liuxie helped him sit upright, using the bed frame as support for his back. "I will tell you about the current situation. First, I am sorry. I challenged a duel in your name."

He had lots of words to say, but didn't know where to start. Before forcing himself to speak, Feng Liuxie stopped him. "Listen. I will help you beat them to expel them. Even if you lose, I will take responsibility for it. We have three months until the duel start. It gives me enough time to teach you. From now on, you're going to live with me. Got it?"

Yun Xialuo nodded like an innocent puppy who didn't know what was going on, listening to his explanation. "You will recover soon. Rest comfortably." Feng Liuxie went outside to give him peace of mind, after all Yun Xialuo was bullied by him in the past when no one was looking.

He sauntered across the bridge which was above the lake and had a resting bench in the middle, surrounded by a colorful scenery, with blooming flowers. Sitting in a meditation position, he closed his eyes to get his message across to system.

Feng Liuxie wondered if it was possible to transfer his adult skills to his small body.

[It is possible, no side effects will happen to your soul but with the body, it has certain risks.]

He thought with his current money, there should be something in the system shop to help reduce the risk.

Feng Liuxie was hesitant in pressing the confirm button, but time was running out. If he didn't do this for the protagonist, he would think those three were impossible to beat and his future trauma for physical touch with other humans would never be cured.

Feng Liuxie could now feel the internal energy the previous owner cultivated lashing back at him. Snapping out of his meditation, he rapidly went into his room after taking his clothes off, only taking a towel with him. Thinking about the pills, a small space that looks a ripped open blackhole turned up alongside him.

Something that felt stuck in his throat finally came out, it was blood, a sign that the body was in danger. Unable to ponder about this any further, he reached into the inventory and took out the pills he just bought. He fed them to Yun Xialuo in order to spread all the energy evenly throughout his arms, legs and his core.

Sweating profusely, he was able to get through the critical state, surpassing most levels that the disciples are on. Even if he transferred much energy to Yun Xialuo, he would still remain more powerful than average. Getting out of the bath, he changed into new clothes and checked on the protagonist. More than half a day has passed, however, he could see that one presence that hasn't moved ever since his meditation has started.

Yun Xialuo was half asleep, half awake, focusing on meditating. He couldn't bear to wake the perfect protagonist up in case he bears a grudge but time matters in this duel. Sensing someone's shadow over him, he was brought down to Earth. Yun Xialuo smiled in delight, "Brother, you've come back."

As calm as Feng Liuxie was, his cold demeanor fell apart immediately. Before when he was still Xue Long, most people treated him with contempt or ostracized him completely. This was the only moment he was treated with respect other than his parents.

"Yeah. I had something to do so I was a bit late. How are you feeling?" Feng Liuxie walked over to sit beside him on the bed.

"Brother, I am fine now thanks to you. I've rested well." Yun Xialuo replied, bowing his head in gratitude. "Are we doing something now?"

Yun Xialuo had sharp sense, and an intelligent brain despite his age. "Good guess. I am going to transfer my internal energy to you."

He obediently turned around, facing his back to his senior. Feng Liuxie placed two hands over his shoulder blades and redirecting the energy in his body to smoothly flow into Yun Xialuo's body, unlocking the meridian points one by one. "Even if it's painful, endure it."

The energy he provided started to flow into his system. Opening the first 5 points were easy, but to unlock the others more internal energy was needed. He replenished himself with plenty of energy before the 12th meridian point finally provided a pathway for the energy into the sea of qi where it will help him channel his power outwards. He gave a Leng Shuang pill to Yun Xialuo, who was in a similar state of concentration. "Don't ask me anything."

Obeying his command, a burst of energy spread through his core as soon as he digested it. Feng Liuxie was barely able to suppress it and gently allow streams of ice to mingle along with the flow of energy and form the core forcefully. Yun Xialuo was a one of a kind genius late awakener. This ice energy can only stop his energy from rushing out of his young body for four years. Feng Liuxie flopped down, weary from transferring his energy and thinking for the junior's wellbeing. He could prevent the protagonist from blackening by random kind acts. Hopefully, ...

"Brother?" The junior's voice snapped his train of thoughts.

"What? I rather you don't talk to me right now." He replied slowly.

"Why did you save me?" Feng Liuxie didn't expect such a heavy question. If it were the protagonist of the game, he would blindly trust his savior, obeying whatever they order him to do. But bringing up this question now, it seemed the protagonist was suspicious of him.

"A junior is being bullied, in addition, he is also my guest. You being beaten makes me lose face. So I thought, might as well make you stronger so that in the end you won't be bullied."

"What if I betrayed you?"

This question has stopped him from getting ahead of himself. "The phrase you call betrayal depends on what situation you're facing. If you really betrayed me, I would have to accept that my judgement of you was wrong."

Despite replying calmly on the surface, he was shaken. True. What if the main character abruptly decides that he was in the way and kill him for revenge? He was reminded that every choice he makes for the main character also affects him in the same way. While he was being tested, Feng Liuxie was made certain of one fact, but rambled on not to show his nervousness.

"By the way, you look very mature for your age. You should be 3 years younger than me right?"

"I am 11 years old. I am still grateful when you picked me up from the streets."

"I also don't know what I was thinking that time. Maybe your looks appealed to me." Though they maybe enemies in the future, the compliments were all sincerely from the bottom of his heart.

Deserving the title of MC, his eyes were narrow but attractive, his face could probably earn the hearts of his juniors and senior just waving at them. Although he may look like a pretty boy who has silky hair, fair skin, his body was hard as rock when Feng Liuxie touched his broad shoulders.

"I see." He laughed lightly. Feng Liuxie seemed to make a face that looks as if he wanted to question him so the junior elucidated. "I wasn't making fun of you. I was just thinking though you are the young master of the Feng clan, you still care about looks."

"Of course I do. After all, I am still human. I wouldn't if I were an immortal." He stated, half joking, half serious. Yun Xialuo muttered quietly in response.

"After this, what do we do?"

"Spar with each other."

"Me and you?" He replied in disbelief. "Our levels are different. I could never reach your level in three months. How are we going to make it fair?"

"It's a secret." Before his junior bombard him with more questions, he commanded him to move over and tucked the sheets. "I will be sleeping. Train or take a nap here. Choose." He turned over to the side of the bed and dozed off before he heard the answer.

Yun Xialuo figured it was better to use this time to train rather than waste time unlike Feng Liuxie since time was what he needed to close the gap between him and the seniors rapidly and unbeknownst to them for the match in order to let their guard down. He was grateful to his senior for backing him up and giving him a solid foundation to train faster than before.

Leaning over him, he whispered happily to him. "Liuxie brother, all thanks to you. I will repay you once I finish everything."
