After two consecutive days of snowfall, the brief clear weather seemed to have dissipated the gloom that hung over the City-State, and Frost awoke once again as usual—snowplows and snow-melting equipment started to clear the accumulated snow on the main roads, the old high-pressure gas pipelines and electrical systems passed the test once more, and factories and public transport systems began operating again.
Sounds of various carriages and machines grew with the sunrise, gradually reaching a crescendo.
