Ryker returned to the village, his presence commanding respect and curiosity. Word of his victory over the Iron Claw Gang had spread quickly, and the villagers greeted him with gratitude and admiration. Liara approached him, her eyes wide with awe.

"You did it," she said. "The Iron Claw Gang is no more."

Ryker nodded. "It's a start. But there's still much to be done."

Liara smiled, a glint of mischief in her eyes. "Well, if you're looking for more trouble, I might have a lead for you."

She led him to a small, hidden room in the village hall. Inside, a map was spread out on a table, marked with various locations and notes. Liara pointed to a spot near the edge of the map.

"There's a sect here, known as the Shadow Serpent Sect. They're secretive and powerful. They enter the gates around here regularly to clear so they should possess the information you want."

Ryker studied the map, his mind racing with possibilities. The Shadow Serpent Sect sounded promising, but it also sounded dangerous. He would need to be cautious.

"Thank you, Liara," he said. "I'll investigate this sect. But first, I need to train and prepare."

Liara nodded. "If you need anything, just ask. The villagers are in your debt."

Ryker spent the next few days training and honing his skills. He practiced the Intermediate Cultivation Technique, feeling his strength and agility grow with each session. He also upgraded his equipment, finding better weapons and armor among the Iron Claw Gang's stash. He found that his training increased his combat power by more than 50% as he got used to the power he received and solidified his foundation.

They introduced themselves as members of a group working for a guild, fighting against the demonic invasion and the corrupt factions exploiting the chaos. The leader, Kaida, eyed Ryker with suspicion but offered an alliance.

"We've heard about your exploits," Kaida said. "You're powerful, but power alone won't save this world. Join us, and we can fight together."

Ryker considered her offer. An alliance could be beneficial, but he was wary of trusting others. Still, he needed allies in this fight.

"I'll join you," he said. "But I work alone. I'll help your cause, but I have my own goals."

Kaida nodded, her expression unreadable. "Fair enough. We can work together when it benefits us both."

The alliance was uneasy, but it provided Ryker with valuable resources and information. Together, they continued their journey towards the Shadow Serpent Sect, each step bringing them closer to their goal.

"So how often do you guys go out to hunt demons" said Ryker, trying to figure out more information about the group.

"We come here every couple of days, when there is news about the monsters" Kaida said. " Yes, our boss is very strong so we don't worry about demons" said Luciel, a member of her group with red hair and holding a staff indicating he is a mage type hunter.

"I see." said Ryker. Ending their conversations as the other members of the group seem wary.

As they approached the sect's territory, the Ascendant Path System activated again, displaying a warning.

Ryker's heart raced. The Shadow Serpent Sect was more dangerous than he had anticipated. But he was determined to press on, driven by the promise of power and the need to uncover the truth.

Deep within the stronghold, he found a hidden chamber guarded by two elite warriors. These were no ordinary guards; their presence radiated power and danger.

Ryker nodded. "I just broke through a bottleneck I had for a long time", not wanting his current allies to know of the shadow orb he received. 

Kaida smiled. "Good. We need every advantage we can get."

The next morning, Ryker set out on his own, determined to continue his journey. He bid farewell to the resistance group, thanking them for their assistance. As he travelled, the Ascendant Path System displayed a new notification.
