Exploding the tire on the rearmost parked plane had been calculated to keep the enemy from accessing the largest maintenance area. Repeating the attack on a bomber mid-runway had kept the airfield out of commission. While utility frames tried to drag both planes away, they'd waited for most of an hour while crews unloaded the payloads.
The sounds of gunfire interrupted Xu's thoughts as she contemplated where to place her next round to block the runway best.
Through her scope, she saw foreign airmen running along the tarmac, shouting at their peers. Behind them appeared a troop of Separatists, all armed.
Xu watched as the Separatists started to arrest the unarmed engineers and crew. The Usonian airmen hadn't just come alone, however, and from closer to the airport's radio tower came a group of mercenaries.
