Chapter 13 Black Cat

"Don't worry about it. I bet you're stronger than that dragon by now. Anyway, we're here." I said.

"Yeah, I'd kick that lizard's ass. Hahaha, Ah, one sec, to answer your question earlier." She suddenly started shrinking and her body changed. I looked down and saw a black cat.

She seems to trust me a lot more now. I guess it makes sense after she told me about her past in detail like that...

"Wow. I'm honestly impressed, I really didn't think you could do that." I kept up the happy atmosphere.

"Hehe, I've done it a few times before when I don't wanna be bothered. Nobody bothers a black cat, it's bad luck after all." She said as she jumped onto my shoulder and curled into a ball like she was lying down.

"I think you're more like my good luck charm. Ever since I met you, my life has gotten a whole lot more interesting and fun."

I did sincerely mean that, it felt like my whole life had changed the moment we met.

"Fufufufu. So has mine. What is this place by the way?"

I smiled evilly.

"This is the information guild. And they are gonna have a very busy night. Hahahaha!"

Inside the guild.

I made my way over to a couch with a table in front of it and took a seat. I let my feet rise into the air from the momentum and slammed my heels down on the table with my legs crossed making a loud thud.

I eyed the people who were staring at me accusingly for the slight ruckus I just caused. Soon after a man made his way over to me.

"Excuse me, dear customer, is there anything you need today?" He asked.

I smirked and leaned back into the couch, relaxing as I spread my arms out.

"Your boss." I replied confidently.

"Pardon?"

"I said, bring me your boss."

"U-umm, I don't think that's possible."

I suddenly shot up to my feet and grabbed him by the collar. I pressed the cold, grey blade of a knife I got from the table to his neck, just shallow enough to not draw blood.

"Then you better fucking make it possible." I glared at him.

It seems that this guy didn't recognize who I am, he must be a newbie. Who doesn't recognize a prince when you work for an information guild? This is making it a bit of a pain, but acting like this is still fun sometimes.

"Gah! U-umm, r-right away sir." He hurriedly scampered off to the back room.

The cat on my shoulder purred lightly before speaking. "You're pretty good at being forceful."

I chuckled. "It never gets old. Always a good time."

"I bet the ladies love that."

"Maybe you'll find out yourself someday?"

In the face of my provocation, Luna didn't back down. She crawled on my lap and locked eyes with me.

"Maybe I'd like that."

I admit, I got caught slightly off guard.

"Y-yeah."

I heard her snickering. "Alright, tough guy."

I grabbed her by the scruff and held her up so we were face to face.

*Meow?!*

"Bad kitty!" I scolded.

It seemed like she was about to retort, but then the guy I scared off earlier walked back in with another man.

This new man was well built and clearly strong with his broad shoulders. He wore a suit and had his hair slicked back. He clearly wasn't the boss. This guy was the most obvious fake ever. Why would the head of an information guild, who needs to be stealthy and subtle, be a huge dude with building musicals?

Alas, I still waited until they made it over to my table before saying anything.

"Hello, I am the boss of this location. I heard that you asked to see me. What business does our esteemed customer have with the Moonlight information guild tonight?" He asked.

I sighed and threw the knife I was using earlier at the kid from before. It pierce his right thigh and he let out a low groan. Was this harsh? Meh, who cares, also these guys are all criminals, information guilds deal in a lot more than just random, petty information.

Before anyone could protest I looked the kid in the eyes and smiled. "I told you to get your boss, dipshit. Does this fucker look like your boss to you? Cause he certainly doesn't to me."

"W-what do you mean?"

Before I could reply the large man stepped up in between me and the kid.

"Violence against guild employees is against the rules, sir. Please leave."

"No."

"Pardon me?"

I stood up and went toe to toe with the guy who looked like he was at least 1.5x my size and weight.

"I'm not leaving until I get to see you boss. Did you get it this time? Or should I repeat myself again?"

I saw his fists clenched as he was about to attack. When suddenly, the cat on my shoulder jumped off and scratched at his eye.

"Argh! What the fuck is up with this cat?!" Luna kept scratching at his face, leaving red marks all over.

"Pfft~. Quite the tough guy you are. You couldn't even beat my cat. Hahahaha!" I mocked.

The large man tried to get back up, but was stopped in place by someone new entering the room.

"Stop it Jeremy. I'll see to this customer myself."

I smiled.

"Nice to meet you, your highness. I am the leader around here, my name is Claude."

I looked at Luna and smiled. "Here kitty, kitty~ we're gonna go meet with Claude now."

Luna grumbled and jumped into my arms. Biting my finger in protest to my treatment of her and drawing blood before resting back on my shoulder.
