4. Choosing Class!

"The class huh?" I thought out loud.

Even a total newbie like me knows about the classes.

There are three types of skills. Personal Skill, Drop Skills and Class Skills.

Only a lucky few get to be born with Personal Skills while Drop Skills can be acquired by killing monsters and clearing dungeons in AAA.

But Class Skill is something anyone can get when deciding their Class. They also get additional class skills when upgrading their class.

There are 7 Classes. Needless to say, there are some hidden classes too, but we can't choose from them.

"Yes, do you want me to list them?" The black-haired girl asked.

"Sure," I replied. "Will you list them with Class Skills too?"

"For a second there I thought I had to explain Class Skill too haha!" The black-haired girl giggled again.

I narrowed my eyes at that comment.

'Does she think of me as some kind of caveman?!' I thought.

"I'm joking, I'm joking! Here, have a look."

As if waiting for that cue, a blue translucent screen appeared in front of me. It took me a second to go through its contents.

___

[Classes]

•Mage

Mages play at long distances. Many other classes can cast spells but spell that mages cast are on a whole different level. They can learn healing spells, but can only heal themselves.

-Fast Mana Replenishment

•Berserker

Berserkers get in close and personal to finish off their opponents. Their attacks carry a punch, the only weakness they have lies in their limited range attacks.

-Frenzy

•Archer

Archers or Snipers are the cousins of Assassins, but unlike Assassins, they can fight openly too. They can give covers, one-shot kill someone who has their guard down, and even fight in the mid-range too.

-Perfect Aim

•Assassins

Assassins are the phantoms. They disappear right in front of your eyes and reappear behind you, but before you can react, you are already dead.

-Clouded Step

•Healer

Not all Healers are useless! Healers are masters of mana manipulations. They can even strengthen their body with mana and act as Berserkers, albeit not as strong as them they are still a force to be reckoned with.

-Regeneration

•Runemasters

Runemasters are not the best fighters. Although they can fight by inscribing runes on their body, they can also enhance weapons and other things.

-Rune Knowledge

•Warlock

Warlocks are the 'Jack of all trades but master of none'.

They can fight in close range and midrange, they can also fight in long-range by casting spells. They can also learn healing spells. A perfect combination of a Mage and a Berserker.

-True Damage

___

"Haa…" Heaving a soft sigh, I touched my chin.

It was indeed a tough decision to choose Classes. Although some Class Skills were self-explanatory some weren't.

Thinking for a few more seconds, I decided to go with the mage. I always wanted to be a mage.

They don't have much weakness, even though their comfort lies in fighting at long range, super-skilled mages can still fight in the mid-range.

Plus they are very versatile with their different types of spells.

Thinking that I decided to go for the Mage class, but before I could do so, a mechanical voice rang in my ear and a translucent blue screen appeared in my sight.

___

{It is advised for you to choose Warlock class}

{If you do go along with the system's recommendation, you'll be allotted a [Special Gift] as the reward when you will exit}

___

For a second there, I almost forgot about the System until it appeared again.

And it was recommending me to choose Warlock Class?

A frown appeared on my face again as I slightly touched my chin.

I had no plans of choosing the Warlock class, but now I kind of wanted to see what's the [Special Gift] that the system was talking about.

"I'll go with the Warlock Class," I replied with a final nod.

"I see, that's a good choice," the black-headed girl commented. "Warlocks are self-sufficient so they can fight individually and don't really need anyone to cover them."

After that bit of information, the black-haired girl snapped a finger.

I waited for something to happen but nothing happened even after a few seconds of dead silence.

Seeing me sitting there quietly, the girl in front of me spoke,

"What happened? Didn't you get the system notification for the class update?" She asked.

Frowning my eyebrows, I was about to blurt out no but suddenly the translucent blue screen appeared in front of me again.

___

{Say yes, say you got the notification}

___

Another frown appeared on my face after reading that, but regaining my normal look instantly after, I spoke,

"Yes, I got the notification. It's here."

After hearing a positive reply, the girl nodded before speaking in excitement, "Good, now you're all set!"

"I-I am?" Hesitantly, I asked.

"Yes, the formalities are done. Now you'll be teleported into the city of Newbies," the girl replied with a bright smile. "Are you ready?"

"I don't know, I guess I am." I shrugged lightly, that only made the black-haired girl giggle more.

I couldn't understand what she found so funny but I, being an introvert, didn't ask anything.

"Okay, on 3!" Standing up from her position she spoke.

I followed her and abruptly stood up from my seat too.

"2!"

Is the dramatic countdown necessary? I thought.

I was running out of patience. I wanted to see the world of AAA for myself.

I wanted to explore the things that I've been hearing about from my peers as soon as possible!

"1!"

At her ending count, the black-haired girl snapped her fingers and the scenery around me started to distort.

Only then did I remember that I never asked for her name.

"Wait! What's your name?!"

I wasn't simping guys!

I'm not a simp!

Asking the name of a person who helped you is called having adequates!

Hearing me ask her name, the girl displayed a beautiful yet teasing smile before answering.

"I can tell you my Arcane name, it's Starlight! Come find me when you ascend!"

Those were the last words I heard before the scenery around me was completely distorted into plain black.

"Ahh, imagine a Nyctophobic person going through this!" I commented after watching the pitch-black darkness around me.

After a few seconds of vision loosening darkness, a bright dot of white light appeared in my sight.

The dot of light slowly grew larger and larger until it completely enveloped me, causing me to close my eyes in discomfort.

The next moment, when I opened my eyes I found myself standing inside a huge hall, with people of age similar to mine filling the whole place.

"That makes 2000!" An old man spoke standing on a podium, that was positioned at the far end of the hall, shifting everyone's attention to him.

"With the 2000th newbie here, we can begin your arrival ceremony!"
