The Devourer
"Gurgle! Ah!" A soldier standing guard by the window suddenly collapsed to the ground, convulsing. His neck bones seemed to melt, and as his limbs twitched, his head shook erratically. Soon, it was thrown backwards, twisting 180 degrees, his expression eerily fixed on the ceiling.
But this time, Howard saw clearly. Before he transformed, a stream of energy had entered his body from the ground.
"The monster is below us, using energy attacks!" Howard shouted.
"Energy attacks? Interesting!"
"The theory of evolution energy is correct; the virus is just a carrier of energy!"
"Studying the viral genome sequence was the wrong approach; the real focus should be on the energy."
"We need to study the impact of this energy on life through both biochemistry and physics. Pure biological studies will only lead us into a dead end!"
