"Meow!"

Glisson jumped down from Helen's shoulder and quickly hopped on the steps, seemingly scouting the path for Helen.

Its body was so light that it made no sound at all.

Helen ascended the blood-stained staircase step by step, quickly reaching the top floor, the fifth level.

An elevator was at the center, with one on each side of the hallway serving two apartments, doors facing each other.

Her family's door was ajar.

"Dad? Mom?"

Helen carefully pulled open the door, stepping lightly, her heart filled with trepidation as she entered the room.

The floor was clean, devoid of any bloodstains.

She walked to her parents' bedroom. The bedding was neatly folded, clean and tidy.

No one was there.

Helen then hurried to her own room.

Her stuffed toys were all on the bed, and a note was taped to the wall.

It read: "Pier 15, Mom and Dad are waiting for you to reunite!"
