Wang Zhao entered the bathroom and closed the door behind. His mind drifted back to the time he had stayed at Sang Qian's apartment when he wanted to know the truth.

FLASHBACK-
Two weeks ago,
Sang Qian's apartment.
Reference- Chapter 20
Wang Zhao, stopped and placed the spoon back on the shelf and looked at her. He banged his hand on the kitchen counter and yelled. "Don't make me lose my cool Sang Qian. Watch your mouth! Shut up! If you answer my questions I will leave."
Sang Qian was taken aback. She gulped lightly when she felt a shiver run down her spine. "I don't care. I have other matters to attend. Do whatever you want with this place. Don't dare enter my room. That will be invading my privacy."
He was still staring at her as she left swaying her waist. She flicked her hair backwards and gracefully closed the door as she left. Wang Zhao scoffed. "That crazy b..."
After she left, he sighed. He walked to the couch. Just as he stepped closer, his eyes landed on the photograph. He frowned. Was that Mi Chan? He hurriedly picked up the photo and his eyes widened.
Li Zinhuo and Mi Chan. Li Zinhuo was patting her head and she blushed. He looked at the corner of the picture. It was dated exactly four years ago. His chest tightened. Li Zinhuo said he knew Mi Chan, but he didn't knew they were this close.
He curled his fist. He pulled out his phone, and scanned the picture before sending it to Ben, his only personal guard, whom he could trust.
Wang Zhao was getting sure with each day passing, that something fishy was up with Mi Chan. He calmed himself down and thought with a rational mind. He slid the photo, down under the sofa. He knew Sang Qian no longer wanted to prove anything, that is why she didn't disclose anything.
He felt bad. What was Sang Qian hiding? Why wouldn't she tell him, now that he wanted to listen!
He walked to the kitchen and decided to cook something. He had taken a day off anyways.
After he was done, he wanted to take some rest, three hours have passed, she wasn't back. He hesitated before he opened the door to her room. He felt awkward even though no one was staring.
Suddenly, a thought crossed his brain. What if she had hidden other stuff like old pictures and proofs against Mi Chan? He peeped in her closet. It was neat but stacked with various suits and a few gowns. He shook his head. "What am I thinking?"
As he was about to walk past the closet, his eyes landed on a diary. It was laying on a corner, sprawled open like it had fallen and no one noticed.
His hands instantly reached for it. He squatted down and soon he was leaning against the closet's wall. He traced the leather cover with his fingers. He had a serious and confused expression on his face. His knees bent slightly upwards and supported his forearms.
His hand held onto the diary and as soon as he turned the cover and read the very first page. He recognized that it was a personal Diary.
'betrayed, Misunderstood, lost.'
The title was what scared him the most. Could he get to know everything if he read this diary?
He didn't want to read Sang Qian's personal diary, but he wanted to know the truth too. His hands itched and he turned another page. The day was marked her birthday. He gulped lightly.
He took a calming breath and started reading. With every sentence and word, he could feel the depth of her feelings for him. In the diary the first page was about him. The way she described him, was too pure and innocent for a person he was.
He closed the diary shut abruptly. He couldn't read her pure thoughts. They were too much for him, it was the same as reading her mind and feelings.
The urge to find the truth washed over him again. He pressed his temples before he opened the diary again. He skimmed through it and found the day he was looking for. He clearly remembered. The day the had to sign a contract.
He started reading and as he read surprised kept hitting him with every page he turned. Sang Qian's intention was something he always misunderstood. He kept reading, and he kept realizing.
After another few hours, he placed the diary down. His face had a sullen expression. He seemed tired, he seemed numb. His eyes were blank. Now that he knew the whole truth, he couldn't bring himself to undo it.
He forced himself up and walked to the bed. His head ache started acting up. All he knew was that he made a mistake, not believing Sang Qian back then. He could've at-least asked her reasons. The diary didn't mention a lot of stuff about Mi Chan but he got to know Sang Qian's side of the story.
He closed his eyes and pulled the duvet over himself as he tried to fall asleep with his tired brain. His energy was if sucked out of him after reading everything.

When he woke up, he felt as if someone was outside the room. He closed his eyes again, it was surely Sang Qian. He couldn't afford being caught. He started thinking of how to face her.
In the end he decided to act normal and pretend he didn't know anything. He didn't want to mess everything up. He had to be calm and find out the whole truth before he took any action.
He couldn't trust anyone. When Sang Qian entered the room. He heard her small gasp. He wished she won't kick him out of the bed. Fortunately she didn't.

BACK TO PRESENT!
After Wang Zhao was done with the shower, he stepped out in the robe. He saw the dress Sang Qian chose and decided to wear something that matched her dress. He chose a navy shirt with blank pants. His brown leather belt added more to the look.
He put on a shirt and left the first two buttons unbuttoned. He smiled at himself with satisfaction but then he noticed the bruise. Was there some way he could cover it with?
Just at that moment, he heard the bathroom door open. Sang Qian stepped out in her tight dress. The dress fitted her body and showed her curves, just on the right place. He eyed her from head to toe. The dress hung over her shoulders with the help of thin straps.
Her long slender arms and collar bone were on display. Her hair was down on her shoulders since she didn't style them. She looked seductive and beautiful. He looked at her bare face. She looked pretty.
He sighed at his thoughts. "Can you help me with covering my bruise?"
Sang Qian nodded. "We can use makeup. I will do it later, first style your hair," she said coldly and walked back to the closet. There was a mirror in the closet itself.
Wang Zhao couldn't understand her reason for sudden coldness and then he was reminded of the bet in the study. A smirk made its way on her lips. "You sure know how to play. It will be fun." He muttered under his breath.
After a few minutes,
Sang Qian stepped out with her hair tied up in a ponytail and minimal makeup. Wang Zhao stared at her. She looked stunning.
On the other hand, Sang Qian was stunned by how handsome he looked. His broad shoulders were well defined under his shirt. She didn't miss the two undone buttons. His hair dried properly. His clean-shave revealed his sharp jaw. He looked perfectly flawless.
She stepped closer. "Come inside, I will help you cover that up." This time her voice was just casual and normal.
Wang Zhao knew what he had to do. He followed her inside. There was a huge mirror on the wall above a shelf. He could see different cosmetic products.
Sang Qian was busy selecting the right shade for him. He was standing right beside her. He had noticed, she was a tiny girl. When she turned around, he quickly got a hold of the shelf and bent down. His face was in front of hers.
She was taken aback but didn't react. His face was close but his body was no less. His arms were around her. She was trapped between him and the shelf behind.
She put the light concealer on his bruise. He frowned. "It hurts," he said.
She knew it would as she dabbed the sponge against his skin very gently. She didn't wanna hurt him. She was extra careful. Her face was full of concentration. They were so close. She was trying not to touch his shoulders and seeing her discomfort, Wang Zhao pulled her other arm and placed it on his waist.
She blinked as the tension was too high between them. She gulped slightly, trying to focus on Covering the bruise. She applied a little bit of foundation and a little blush to match it to his natural tone.
The bruise was covered perfectly. Once she was done, she looked at him. Their eyes met, her heart tingled with the feeling. He was staring at her face like that. Out of nowhere, he pulled her wrist up in front of his eyes. He stared at the mark on it.
Sang Qian didn't pull away. He turned his eyes back to her face. The way they were looking at each other was sensual and challenging at the same time. Both knew what was going on.
Wang Zhao smiled. "Wife, are you ready?" He asked in a low voice. His eyes shone with something darker for which Sang Qian wasn't ready.
Hmmmm, interesting, now we know why Wang Zhao changed so much, moreover, there is a lot of tension between the both of them, it might erupt! Also COMMENT! And VOTE!
