They lied

Alina quickly rushed out the door into the other room as she took her black cloak off the coat rack and she quickly put it on as she rushed out the front door to the stables as she ran past the stables and she ran to a little shed that was behind it as she opened the door and she closed the door behind her as she removed the hood of her cloak only to see Ivor standing there with his back turned to her as the room was lit all around with candles.

"Master…" called Alina as she was cut off before she could say anything tangible.

"Stop Alina, just stop right there, do not dare say anything, before I transfer my anger on you" said Ivor as his voice thundered along with the rain in the little shed as the sound of the rain hitting the roof could be heard.

Alina flinched a bit at the sound of his angry voice, he was really angry, very, very angry, he never spoke to her this way, but when he did, it meant that he was furious, in rage, and Alina had never seen him like this before, she knew that it would be difficult for her to reach him and try to change his mind.

"Master, please listen to me" said Alina as she kept on trying.

"Listen to you? For what?? Don't you know what we have just gotten ourselves into? Didn't you hear that she is a Grey?" asked Ivor as he turned to look at Alina.

"Yes Master, I know all of that, I heard it all" said Alina.

"And yet you are here trying to defend them?" asked Ivor as he knew that was why Alina was here, she was here to defend them and try to change his mind and nothing more, well he was not going to allow it, she would not have her way this time, he had been too lenient with her, and now see where it got them.

"Yes master, I defend them because…" said Alina as she did not even get a chance to speak when Ivor cut her off again.

"Stop trying to defend them, stop it Alina, those people are nothing but liars, they lied to us all" said Ivor.

"Yes Master, I agree with you that they lied" said Alina.

"But I am sure that they only lied because that was the only thing that they could do at the time" said Alina.

"Do not say that Alina, there is no excuse for lies, you of all people know that" said Ivor as he could not believe that Alina was trying to bend the rules just because of them and that girl.

"Master, tell me, would you have helped them if they told you the truth?" asked Alina.

"No of course not" said Ivor.

"You see master that was why they lied, they were only trying to protect themselves and nothing more" said Alina as she explained and Ivor just looked at her with a mix of disbelief and anger.

"Stop trying to defend them Alina, lying is lying, no matter what, I taught you that, and it deeply pains and disappoints me to see you try to bend the rules and forsake all the teachings that I have taught you just because of them" said Ivor.

"Master please…" said Alina as she was cut off.

"Do not dare beg me Alina, do not dare, there is nothing else to say here, we do not associate ourselves with those type of people" said Ivor.

"Those type of people?" asked Alina.

"Yes, people like them, we do not associate ourselves with them" said Ivor.

"Master, you sound so unfair right now, calling them people like them, they are not bad people, not at all, they are people just like us, witches just like you and me" said Alina as Ivor was very stubborn he would never budge never, and Alina was finding it very difficult to try to reason with him while he was like this.

"That is enough Alina, I am not going to discuss this with you, you have no say here, I want those people out of my house right this instant!" said Ivor as he shouted at Alina as she kept quiet and he could see that she was hurt.

"You know what fine… fine Master, as you wish" said Alina as Ivor just looked at her, it was not his intention to make her feel sad, but it had to be done, she had to see just how serious and dangerous this situation that they were in.

"But what surprises me is… the way you changed your values so easily" said Alina as she was not going to back down, no not now.

"You were the same person who told me not to judge others so easily, you taught me that children don't have to suffer because of the sins of their parents, you taught me to be fair to everyone and every living thing I come across" said Alina as tears began to drop from her eyes and Ivor felt his heart breaking, he never wanted to see Alina cry, he never wanted her to cry at all.

"You were the one who taught me to be kind, no matter what, not to jump to conclusions, so it really hurts me that you don't keep your own teachings, the teachings that I hold very near and dear to my heart, that are the mere basis of who I am today, because of what you taught me" said Alina as she cried.

"I never once disobeyed you Master, I always listened to you no matter what, you know that I will never refute you, but please give them a chance to explain" said Alina as she cried.

"Alina, stop crying… you know that I do not like to see you cry" said Ivor as he sighed and he shook his head.

"Then please Master, don't send them away, not in this cold and rain, just hear them out, please Master, I beg you" said Alina as she pleaded with Ivor, she did not want him to throw Annie, Maddie, Matt, Ollie and Curtis out, she didn't want him to.

"Will you stop crying if I do?" asked Ivor as Alina nodded her head and Ivor sighed, he really could not let them go now, not now.

Ivor sighed, he had calmed down, and his rage had subsided, and now that he thought about it, he was not that heartless to throw them all out, especially now that it was still raining.

And all Alina's words hit him, she was right, he had taught her all those values, and now he came along telling her to do the opposite of what he had taught her, he truly was a hypocrite, but she had to understand him, they were not dealing with normal people here, they were dealing with a family that could destroy the entire Witch Realm.

"Please Master, please, I am sure that Annie can explain everything, you just need to give her a chance, and then she will be able to explain everything" said Alina as she sniffed.

"Alright then, fine… I will give her a chance to explain properly" said Ivor as he sighed, he did not want to have to regret this.

"Thank you Master Thank you" said Alina as she smiled and she sniffed as she dried her tears.

"Don't thank me yet Alina, I am still very upset" said Ivor.

"Oh Master, please, please continue to treat Curtis… even though he isn't a witch, please treat him" said Alina as she pleaded with Ivor.

"I will see what I can do Alina, I can only assure you that and nothing more" said Ivor as he sighed.

"Oh thank you Master Thank you, I assure you that Annie isn't bad at all, she just needs time to explain" said Alina as she smiled and she sniffed, she knew that her master would never let her down, never.

"Hmm, we will see about that Alina, but this is the last and final time that you will convince me otherwise" said Ivor as he was just tired.

"Yes Master, I promise you, I won't do anything to cause you any more trouble, but just give Annie and the others a chance to explain master" said Alina.

"And please Master, relax, and calm down, don't ask them to explain to you when you are looking like that, just please relax" said Alina as she pleaded with him once again.

"Alina alright, end of conversation" said Ivor.

"No Master, not until you promise me that you will be understanding" said Alina as Ivor wondered why this girl did not seem to fear him at all, she was even telling him what to do.

"Alina" said Ivor.

"Master" said Alina as she was not backing down, she was not a child, and she deserved to be heard.

"Alright fine, now enough of this" said Ivor as he sighed and he agreed.

"Thank you master, thank you" said Alina as she smiled in relief.
