Be alone

"You feel better now?" asked Maddie as she stopped hugging Annie as she heard that Annie had finally stopped crying.

"No, I don't feel better at all" said Annie as she shook her head and she sniffed as Matt looked at her hopelessly, he did not know what to say or do to at least try to make her feel better, it hurt him seeing Annie like this.

"Annie, don't let this bring you down, don't let what Ivor said get to you" said Ollie as he did not like seeing Annie like this as well, he did not like seeing her cry.

"No, don't say anything Prince Oliver, you don't understand" said Annie as she sniffed and she shook her head, he would never understand, none of them would, and she did not blame them at all, they were not in her shoes.

"I do understand Annie, and I know that it feel unfair to be treated like this over something that is not your fault" said Ollie as he wanted to let Annie know that they all felt the same way that she did, they understood her, even if she did not believe it.

"Just stop okay, I don't want to hear anything" said Annie as she shook her head.

"Annie don't…" said Maddie as Annie cut her off.

"I don't want to hear it, I just want to be alone, just leave me alone, all of you" said Annie as she cried even more and she did not wait for them to react at all as she just turned around and she left into the next room.

"Annie don't…" said Matt as he wanted to go follow after Annie but Maddie held his hand back as he turned to look at her.

"She needs some time, leave her be" said Maddie.

"But we can't possibly leave her alone when she's like that" said Matt as he shook his head and Maddie shook her head at him.

"She needs to be alone right now, please understand, nothing we say or do will make her feel better, so let her try to process everything first, believe me, if we force ourselves on her, it will only make things worse, so please, don't go anywhere, just stay here, let her clear her head" said Maddie as Matt groaned, he did not like the idea of leaving Annie all alone, not right now when she did not feel good at all.

"Matt, Maddie is right, just let her calm down first" said Ollie as he agreed with Maddie, she was right, Annie needed some time alone right now, no matter how hard it seemed.

Maddie did not say anything, she knew that now was not the time to argue, Annie needed them, and she would not let her little feud with Ollie get in the way of her thinking.

Matt just sighed as Maddie let go of his hand, she knew that if he had a choice, he would go after Annie no matter what she said.

"Fine, fine, I'm only doing this because of Annie" said Matt as he sighed.

"I know, we all are, so the best thing for us to do is to stay calm, and wait for Alina, because she certainly does not seem to be on the same side with Ivor" said Maddie.

"I hope that you are right about that Maddie, I really do" said Matt as he was not sure at all.

Annie sniffed as she slowly opened the door to a room as she closed the door behind her, and she saw Curtis, lying down on the mat on the ground, looking unconscious, the mere sight of seeing him like this made her feel even worse.

Even if he looked a bit peaceful, she knew that he was not feeling peaceful at all, she knew that all this was so hard for him to bear, and it hurt her to know that he was like this because of her.

"Curtis, Curtis, I'm sorry" said Annie as she bent down beside Curtis and she cried as she touched the right side of his face, he felt warm as he was breathing gently.

"I'm so sorry" said Annie as tears dropped from her eyes.

"This is all my fault, you are like this because of me" said Annie as she cried.

"I don't know, I think that I was being selfish when I brought you back, and well now, my selfishness fell back on me, but I didn't want to lose you, not at all Curtis, because I love you more than you know, I don't think that I will be able to go on without you" said Annie as she cried and she wiped her tears as they were landing on Curtis's face.

"I am sorry Curtis" said Annie as she sniffed.

"You are suffering because of me, all because of me" said Annie.

"Curtis, I don't know if you can hear me but… but I told Ivor the truth, the whole truth, about who we really are, because I made him promise to treat you no matter what, but he didn't, he broke his promise, and now he's going to kick us out" said Annie as her tears started to flow again, it was unfair so unfair, that just because of her last name, she was treated like this.

"Oh Curtis, I need you to come back, because you would know what to do, that's your specialty, you always know everything, you always consider everything, while I can't even protect you when you so desperately need me too" said Annie as she cried, she felt like she was just talking to herself, Curtis did not look like he would wake up anytime soon, Annie wondered just what Ivor gave to him for him to be sleeping this deeply.

"Please forgive me Curtis, I let you down" said Annie as she cried.

"I couldn't defeat Azazel, I lost my powers, and all you have been trying to do all this while is get my powers back and protect me, and I have done nothing for you at all" said Annie.

"You always protect me at your expense, and it hurts me, it's not only because you are my guardian, but because I know that you love me too, and I am just so sorry Curtis, for causing you so much pain, I wish that I could turn back time" said Annie.

"I wish that we could go back to when things were alright, just me and you, and nothing to worry about… I wish that… I wish that maybe I never met you, and then maybe you would still be alive right now, and in good health, I am just so sorry" said Annie as she started crying again as she buried her face in her hands, she just felt so much regret right now, so much regret.

Maddie turned to look at the front door when she heard footsteps and Alina walked in.

"Oh guys, where is Annie?" asked Alina as she looked around and she could not see Annie anywhere.

"She wanted to be alone" said Maddie as she replied.

"How is she?" asked Alina in worry.

"She's bad" said Matt.

"I am so sorry guys, I never intended for this to happen" said Alina as she apologized.

"It's fine Alina it's not your fault" said Ollie.

"I spoke to my master and he reconsidered, he said that he will not kick you guys out" said Alina.

"Well that's such a relief" said Maddie in sarcasm as Ivor walked into the house.

"Oh look, if it isn't the promise breaker" said Maddie as she did not hide her feeling for Ivor at all, she was not one to do that.

"Excuse me?" asked Ivor.

"You heard me, and you also know that it's the truth" said Maddie.

"Annie made you promise, she made you promise that no matter what, you would continue to help Curtis, but we can't trust your words at all, you break your promises, you are not a man of your word, and I expected more from you" said Maddie.

"Maddie" said Ollie as he could not believe that Maddie would say all that straight to Ivor's face.

"You shut up" said Maddie as she looked at Ollie and then back at Ivor.

Ivor had to say that he was surprised by Maddie's boldness, and her words did hit him, it was true, he was not a man of his word, even though he always strove to be one.

"I admit that all you said what true" said Ivor.

"But I have seen that I was unfair, and because of that, I will keep my promise, as I said, I will continue to treat Curtis until he gets better, and you all can continue to stay here" said Ivor as Maddie had much more to say to him, but because she knew how much Annie needed Ivor's help, she would not say anything at all.

"You better keep your promise this time mister" said Maddie as she was just so angry on how Ivor treated Annie so unfairly, just unfair.

"I will, and I promise to" said Ivor as he had calmed down, and he gave her his word.
