Chapter 22

On the west side of the academy...

Ebenezer and his team had already defeated the people on his side. He allowed the people on his side to rest.

He hears thunder crackling and gunshots. He activates his ability, and time freezes almost immediately. He doesn't give his new enemies any opportunity to attack.

He sees a young-looking eagle beastman in the sky with a human on his back. Now for the main question: How will he get to them now?

He can't fly; he's a snake, and they were a hundred feet in the air.

He sighs. 'I should have known Malekith's plan was a failure,' he thought. But he couldn't have known. The Goddess of Time had prevented him from seeing what would happen in this battle. He only knows Taegen is going to die on this day, and the Goddess of Time doesn't want him interrupting whatever is about to happen. Just like how she didn't want him to read Ethan's soul to trace out his past life.

He unfreezes time and waits patiently for his enemies to foolishly enter his den. Dodging the attacks shot at him, he waited for the perfect opportunity to end this and join the upcoming battle.

Crystella was about to be bitten by Mikaela. She closed her eyes, getting ready to be bitten, but the bite never came. Mikaela was looking around as if she had heard something. She snaps her finger at Collin, the white jaguar beastman. "Find whoever it is behind the trees," she said.

Collin immediately runs to the trees, but he doesn't see anything. Suddenly, he was grabbed from behind and suffocated.

When Mikaela doesn't hear from Collin, she frowns with a bit of worry. She snapped her finger again, but there was no response.

A gunshot was heard, and Mikaela saw a bullet coming towards her in slow motion. She catches the bullet before it reaches her face and drops it almost immediately, hissing in pain. The bullet is made of silver. It burned her skin almost immediately.

Several more shots came from different areas around the forest, aimed at her.

She has a choice to make between keeping her prey or dodging all these attacks that could potentially kill her.

'Retreat,' she hears her older brother's voice say in her head. She wanted to refuse, but that would be the safest choice right now.

"I'll be back for you," she whispers in Crystella's ear. "Be expecting my arrival, Foxy," she said.

With that, she dodged all the bullets before she ran away.

The illusion Reginald made slowly faded away, and everyone on that side of the forest was holding a gun when they ran to Crystella with equipment to tend to her.

Before she goes unconscious, she sees Eli looking at her mockingly. 'Little bastard.'

Taegen had a bit of trouble fighting two opponents at the same time, but when Ethan arrived and took one of them off his workload, the dark elf he fought was quick. Taegen wasn't fighting as he normally would. There are some of his students still present, and he might mistakenly kill them if he uses his fullest potential. He sees the dark angel fall to the ground, and Jedidiah is going to help Malekith fight the demon.

This battle has been won, and maybe Ebenezer's prophecy won't come true. 'I hope Reginald is alright,' he thought, imagining his cute little lover.

He grabbed the dark elf and sighed, having this dreamy look on his face while thinking of Reginald.

Ethan looks over to his side while fighting the vampire. "Is he seriously thinking of Reginald right now?" he exclaimed in disbelief.

"Isn't love beautiful?" Emily exclaimed. She was hit by a large battle hammer, throwing her several feet back.

She stands up almost immediately, A few ribs are fractured, but that isn't a big deal. She studied the way her opponent fought and knew the defense on his right side was low. She created several energy blasters that floated to the boy and surrounded him. She snaps her finger, and the blasters shoot out all at the same time.

The boy creates several shields to protect him. Emily smiles when she sees a small opening on his right side. It is quite small, and the blasts from the energy blast won't reach him. She created a rifle but didn't create any bullets for it. Instead, she reaches into a small leather pocket underneath her school uniform. There were tranquilizer darts in it. It would be a shame to kill her idol. "Hopefully this isn't expired."

She places the tranquilizer in the rifle and aims at the little opening. She fires, and just before the dart gets to him, she stops firing the energy blasts, and the dart hits the boy. She then snaps her finger and continues to shoot at the boy, not giving him a chance to respond to the tranquilizer dart sticking out of his side.

This was all seen by the elders and the Master. "That is the vessel for Abaddon?" Lucifera said, looking at Emily. "Not bad for a human," she said. "She is almost like the little beast."

Claude was concentrating on Ethan. "You were right, Master," he said. "But he doesn't seem to be serious about this fight."

"And yet he is giving one of your people trouble," Lucifera said mockingly. Looking at the way Ethan toyed with the vampire.

"Drak wouldn't be able to beat him," the Master said. "But he's going to fulfill the task."

Lucifera made a sound of surprise. She didn't question her master, and she quietly watched.

Malekith struggled to fight the demon because he is an angel that is directly exposed to dark energy.

He isn't a high-level angel and isn't able to handle the exposure. His eyes glowed as he activated his ability.

"What can a Principality do to me that can hurt me?" The demon said. "Your light is too weak to do any damage to me," he said, still holding him down.

Malekith lets out a burst of light. The light burns the demon a bit. He creates several light spears with his ability.

"Don't insult my position," Malekith said, growling at the demon. The position he was born into is his pride and joy. Although he isn't a battle angel, he can still wipe out any demon as long as he's alive and still able to fight. The spears were shot at Thyman.

The demon deflects the light spears with his dark energy. He was caught off guard when both of his arms were cut off. Behind him was Jedidiah, the only other angel in the academy.

He summons his weapon. a sword; it was golden and filled to the brim with light; it was glowing brightly, like fire burning his on a touch. "Burn in hell!"

Everyone looked over when they saw the bright light coming from Malekith's side. It looked like a mini sun. "Wow, Malekith went all out," Taegen said.

"You are not being serious about this fight," the Dark Elf said.

Taegen looks at him blankly and responds. "No, not really. I can already tell that you aren't here to take Ethan away; if you were, you would have been a lot stronger and destroyed the school and searched for him in the rubble," he said. "I've discovered a few things," he said, punching him in the stomach.

The Dark Elf spat out blood from the sudden hit. "You are strong, fast, and agile. You have good fighting skills, and you are blind as well," Taegen said, complimenting him. "But you aren't here to win this battle," he said. "Don't worry though, you died honorably fighting the legendary Taegen!"

With that, Taegen kicks his head off his neck.

"Hopefully, you get reborn as someone who isn't destined to die on the battlefield."

Ebenezer had successfully defeated the two air warriors. He recognized both of them immediately. They are descendants of the Second and Twelveth Stars of Nox. How did they end up having to fight for the Dark Realm?

He ties them up and looks up as if he were looking at someone.

"It is almost time, isn't it?"

'It's almost time for the beginning of the end.'
