An Apocalypse Survival Story

I, Apex, an unassuming college student, unwittingly became a survivor. My once-mundane life transformed in the blink of an eye as zombies suddenly appeared around the globe. During an ordinary lecture, I witnessed fellow students turning into flesh-hungry monsters, igniting a chaos that seemed relentless. Stressed and with no one to rely, I found myself thrust into this nightmarish world, struggling to survive alongside a small group of survivors. Together, we faced the relentless hordes of the undead, scavenged for supplies, and sought refuge in a world that had crumbled around us. My journey, as an ordinary person thrust into extraordinary circumstances, became a test of resilience, resourcefulness, and the unbreakable bond of humanity amidst chaos. The question remained: Could we navigate this new world, find safety, and perhaps uncover the secrets behind the zombie apocalypse? SINCE NO ONE'S READING IT, I'M GONNA STOP WRITING NOW!!

I am Alive and Kicking

The world outside was total chaos, like a wild, crazy concert of screams and moans. I found myself sprawled on the second-floor ledge, my body covered in gruesome bite wounds, and each of them hurting like hell. My vision was spinning with pain, and I felt like I was about to puke.

But then, something insane happened. A crazy, painful feeling started deep inside me, like my whole body was being ripped apart and put back together again. It was like my very core was changing, my blood vessels tearing and healing, my bones cracking and fusing, and some weird transformation happening to my organs.

My screams mixed with the zombie cries, echoing through the creepy halls of the building. My body twisted and spasmed, and I couldn't believe the agony I was going through. It felt like every cell in me was revolting as this transformation took over, and it was like a storm tearing through me.

Everything went dark as the pain got even worse, and I blacked out, feeling broken and crushed on that unforgiving ledge.

I don't know how much time passed, but when I finally woke up, I was totally disoriented and confused. I blinked open my eyes, I was still on the very same eaves I got unconscious on. I tried to get up, but my body felt different, like it had a mind of its own. I couldn't wrap my head around the change that had taken place in me.

After a struggle, I managed to sit up, and that's when I realized the big shift. I felt power.... much more than before when I was a simple young footballer. My body, which used to be a bit better than ordinary, now felt like a fortress, as if something had sculpted and strengthened it overnight.

I couldn't wait to test out my new abilities, so I jumped to my feet and landed gracefully on my legs while doing a tiger jump which I didn't knew how to do before, even through the clothes which were all torn and dry stained with blood. It was like I had this amazing strength and agility that I'd never had before.

I glanced down at the first-floor ledge, and what used to be a dangerous jump was now a piece of cake. I descended with ease, barely making any noise. I felt like some kind of ninja, sneaking through the dark halls.

I couldn't help but wonder what had happened to me. Was it those zombie bites? I couldn't say for sure, but one thing was clear – I'd evolved way beyond my old self. I had the strength and skills to face the horrors of this new world head-on.

I kept my eyes peeled for any signs of Sage or other survivors. I was worried sick about her safety, and I felt this burning urgency to find her. I moved like a shadow, my footsteps silent, showing off this newfound control over my body.

As I explored, I couldn't help but think about the human spirit's resilience. Despite all the messed-up stuff happening, I hadn't turned into a brainless roaming entity. I'd emerged from the pain as a stronger, tougher survivor. My transformation showed what a human body can achieve in the most difficult circumstances.

I didn't knew what happened to me Or how these abilities were gained by my body but whatever it was, it only meant more help in these dire circumstances.

---

After reaching the first floor I jumped over the railing, barefoot, to search for any signs of my dear ally.

My heart raced like crazy, and my feet made no sound on the college hallway's floor. This place, once filled with the excitement of students, was now a shadowy maze teeming with zombies. I had to find Sage, my beautiful ally, and any other survivors she might have found. But the tension was off the charts.

Barefoot and holding my breath, I moved from room to room. Sunshine clearly showing the eerie atmosphere with all those nobrain idiots roaming around. The distant groans of the undead echoed, making my skin crawl.

The college, once a hub of learning and partying, was now a post-apocalyptic nightmare. The stench of decay hung heavy in the air, and broken glass littered the floor. It was like a scene from a horror movie, except it was my reality.

I needed to keep going, to find Sage and maybe a glimmer of hope in this mess. My footfalls were careful, avoiding squeaky boards and shattered glass. I didn't want to become zombie bait.

Twenty rooms lay ahead, each a potential lifeline or a death trap. I pushed open the first door, my heart pounding. Nothing. Just chaos, papers strewn about with zombies making groans, but no survivors.

Room after room, the tension built up. I thought about Sage's strength, her determination to survive. It kept me going.

There were close calls, too many to count. Once, I even thought I would need to fight to bypass them but somehow as I lay down at place, they just went on their way to do the thing they liked.... Roaming. Those seconds felt like an eternity, but they eventually moved on. I had to stay strong.

With each room, my hope dwindled, but I couldn't give up. The thirteenth room was right in front of me.

The door locked from inside gave me assurance that there was surely someone inside. Who would it be?? was a thought I'd consider after meeting them but for now I hoped them to be Sage with some other survivors.

I even thought of having a brawl firstly with the zombies to check my new found power but I was afraid if it was a one time thing and might not follow up again. Also, even if I was upgraded, fighting these abominations barehanded was a pure foolish thought that should be thrown away as soon as it comes to mind.

With a lot of hope clearly showing on my face I slowly tapped on the glass frame of the wooden door.
