Chapter 4: I got scam!!!

"How i assume myself protecting her and the reality here. For her to be a real princess who already has thousands of people protecting her....."

It all started when eldric reached Raven suppose home first he got stopped by the palace gate keeper then some maids dragged him into taking bath got his hair done given some clothes and more foods then now he is in front of the king and queen keeling.

"So you are the kid who stole my daughter hah!!! execute himmmmm-- aahhh dear why are you pinching me..?"

"Shut up....." Said the furious queen towards the king pinching his leg.

"Ok..."being scared of the furious queen he keeps himself quiet.

"Let me introduce myself first. My name is Adella von Astoriana. The queen of Astoria and..."introducing herself she pointed gestures towards the king to speak.

I am Denial von Astoria king of Astoria -father of raven and- killer of you ouchhhh...!!!"

Again pinching Denial for being unreasonable Adella asked "And what is your name son?"

"Son? When did he become your son? i didn't approve of any of it..."

"Will you shut up from a sec dear" or else you are gonna have a bad day is written on her face .

"Umm my name is Eldric.... king, queen and i cannot comprehend enough yet about this situation I was only given a job by sis... Princess raven to be her assistant on something..."

"Did you just try to call her sister...? hah youuuuu - youu- grath- execute, execute this bastard for tainting our princess name..." Shout the king at Edric.

'Tainting hah' what can edric say to defend himself in this situation he knows that every parent wants their children to not interact with robbers, thugs, beggars....

"What?" Daniel got confused by the sudden apologies from eldric.

I am sorry for tainting her name ... I am sorry for being born in a slum...I am sorry I didn't know my parents names...I am .."

"Stop there ...What is wrong with you are you going to..keep..." Before Daniel could finish his words a chilling voice cayn from his right side.

'Darlingg~" Adella called daniel out with a faint smile.

"You don't have to apologise son raven has already talked about you to us It's just that my husband is overprotective right darling~"Said Adella looking at Daniel.

"Yes madam." Denial just agreed with her fearing his wife's anger.

After convincing her husband Adella's smiling face turns serious"She called you her little brother already so you are like a son to me now.

And I have nothing to say to her decision but don't betray or break her heart after she lets you call her sister or else i will hunt you down till the end of the world."

"Your highness I will not make her sad."exclaimed eldric.

"That... Sight ok you can go. A maid will accompany you to your room, And for your job talk with raven."

"Yes your highness."

After edric walked away only the king and queen were left in the thrown room.

"Dear is it really a good decision, I meant some random kid accompanying a princess."

"Shiiih Darling it... I think it is fine... raven must have thought about it too, she is already of her age now."

"Tsk... if you say so." Said daniel annoyed but on his heart it were something else. He is going to keep a close eyes on eldric.

Back on eldric he is in a room laying down on a very big bed.

'Today my life really takes a turn."

"Eldric?"A voice called out to him from outside his room.

"Is it a princess!" He thought.

Hearing someone calling him. Eldric ran towards the door and opened it seeing raven there as he predicted he bow before her.

"Princess what brings you here?"

'I don't know any antiques but I at least know that people bow towards their superior and she is a damn princess!!'

Seeing Eldric behaviour raven just laughed off. "Haha should I be happy or sad . Happy for you to realise i am not joking before or sad because you forget your promise to call me sister .."

"I...i" words stumbled for eldric.

"Don't just stage out ok, let go I will tour you around the palace. after that I will tell you about your works..." Said raven grabbing Eldric hand.

"Ok." all he can say is that no more words are needed. He shrugged and followed her.

After showing the place around they went to her room more precisely what she called her office.

"I don't have any particular job for you it was all on wimp.... so for a suitable job you have to guide me when we go out from here on. I can't tell my parents but you need to gather information from the street and market place for a hero.

Everything related to him is important we will search together.You might have some connection with the people around the local area right so i would like you to ask them. that all."

'hero, was she searching for him and by coincidence found me also she taking me in is also for her to search him through my connection... i don't like it, I don't like this feeling a bit'

Cursing on the inside but comparative on the outside he nodded "Umm " nod his head a little responding to her.

"Are you ok? you must be tired you can rest for today we only need 2 or 3 days a week to go out." Said Raven looked worried with his lack of response.

"Eldric?" Confused and worried about his down mood Raven assumed it to be because of tiredness . So she didn't bother him more and let him rest.

Way back to his room eldric sigh "Haaaah it is still early but I am tired many things happened today.

I got picked up by a princess.

Got work on a royal house.

From slum to palace what a jump ...but what was the feeling when the princess mentioned about finding a hero why it's bothering me if she is looking for another man ... After all the hero must be a man right? she didn't say 'the heroine' tsk,

"I need to go to the training ground I must try some weapons to protect her from others, When we go out."

After a long monologue aldric went out to the training ground. There were many soldiers there. Some were dueling, some were practicing swinging.

"Watch out !!!!!"

When Eldric went closer a Bamboo spear came flying towards him.

*Grab* out of reflexes he grabs the incoming spear with his bare hand.

"What....!!!! The man who just shouted to eldric was shocked.

"Wow captain look at that kid just catch your throw. goddamn even though it wasn't full power throw I was able to only dodge it..."

"Ohh isn't this the brat!! who got promoted as a princess personal servant from the slum?? what a coincidence that my practice spear was about to get your face." Said a man meters away with golden hair tall physique looking at him with distance.

"Was it intentional?" Eldric asked in his normal tone.

"Haha of course no way why would I harm a coward."

'I was intentional, right?" eldric can know if it was intentional or not He has been living in a slum for who knows how many years he has been in Interacting with many criminals, drug deliver, gangs his life was shit before he met her. Dealing with those many people gives him some understanding of human nature and many sets of skills needed to survive.

"... Yes it was and what can you do about it cry and complain to your mama oops sorry, sorry you don't know who your mother might be."

"Ohho or are you going to complain to your master like a puppy?" Seeing eldric not responding anymore the man keeps battering finding a chance to humiliate him.

"Let's have a duel." Said eldric without being unfaced by the other party provocation why would he being emotional in this type of situation will only bring more pleasure toward the other party..

Eldric quotes for this kind of situation was not to fall for the promotion emotionally just have a fight if he wins then he breaks his/her bones and if he was going to lose atleast make him/ her regret provoking you by biting of his/her body flast like ears skin or destroying the teeths.

"What? I didn't hear it properly say it again."

"Let's fight if you win I will do one thing you say.

"Are you going to make me apologise." Before aldric could finish his bet the man interrupted him.

"No....let's see hummm yes! humans have 208 bones in one's body so let me brack half of yours. If I win. That's my bet." After thinking for a while Eldric comes up with some random ideas he wants to try.

Link exclaimed.

Link is captain of a new founded troop called hunter. Their duty is to scoot the black forest which is on the north border of Astoria territory.

He is an admirer of princess raven and can't even get close to her. Yet a nobody from the slum getting close to her makes him make rass decisions.

Although ashamed of such childish-like behaviour, as a captain of a group he cannot lose his face by backing down from a challenge anymore.

"Ok... I admit you have nerves. I accept your challenge and your deal. You can break as many bones as you like and if I win I want you to get away from the princess raven as far away as possible."

"..." Although eldric initiates the fight and bets.

He also was not thinking properly this time. Previous by making such bets he does not have anything to lose but now he has something to lose.

He does not want to be away from her. Like a shameless person he can just fight, land some punch or swords scratches even if he loses the game he gets to harm him and he won't honour his promise after all he is not a knight he is... No he was a thief.

"Oh you Don't like my condition! I don't like your idea either but you are the one who initiated it. Or are you backing down like a pussy?"

" Who" while eldric was going to respond he heard a voice.

"Are you going mad out of being scared?" Asked link because he just ask him a stupid question the 'who'.

"I am link, captain of the new founded troop by lady raven." Said link proudly.

"You.." Eldic got even annoyed toward link he didn't want to know his name ok.

(Do it , do it just pick the sword and close your eyes Leave the rest to me.")

'Again' hearing a voice eldric try to find the culprits looking around only to finally realise it was his heart, his heart was talking like a living being ... No it is his own emotions even if he doesn't know how to use a sword his body doesn't fear to hold the sword it was a new sensation for him.

'Something like this has never happened before!

Even when I use a knife in the street... I was planning to use a knife but my body is insisting me to hold a sword.

'I will gamble ... I will let my intuition win. Even if I use knife I can not win.

"Ok I agree with your condition too~" said eldric provocatively after all who cares about strangers promises or bets just break it and you are free.

"Very nice let me show you how noob gets beaten up by pros..." Link was also feeling great to have this fight

He also knew that his condition cannot be fulfilled due to many reasons like who wanna quit a job that pays millions just to honour a bet.

A billionaire might do because he already have the millions but not those who don't have enough money yet.

What he want is now to beat the hell up of eldric. For that he will be ready for a healer just in case.
