Siege Battle

The left arm of Geoffrey was now made of pure shadows and the wound on his chest was replaced by a red mark just like the color in his eyes.

Gremory passed his hand in front of his eyes, to see if he had any conscience, but there was none. Yet, he was following the commands of Gremory.

The rogue class was a class specialized in agility, and their weapons are bow and daggers or short swords. A rogue of rank S firing arrows in the orc army was better than every guard in the wall together.

Gremory had never seen the power of a rank S, but he knew that Geoffrey was the best resource inside the walls during a siege.

Then he compressed the dark energy inside the big dark crystal and stored it inside the dimensional bag.

---One week later---

It was during the morning, Gremory was sleeping inside the Hjmar Guild and suddenly woke up with the loud noise of people running everywhere. The orc army was finally near the walls with giant beasts ready to destroy the walls.

But without a proper leader, their organization was pretty bad and they were waiting far away from the range of the archers. Awaiting for the army to be reunited.

And so the humans were getting ready too, Gremory wakes up the rest of the Hjmar guild and went running to the walls.

He climbed the ladders to the top of the wall and finally had a view of the situation. The sun was yet appearing through the horizon, the light was reflecting every piece of metal inside and out of the wall.

That was the orchestra that preceded the battle, soldiers preparing boiling oil, getting every arrow ready, and standing above the walls ready to make fire and arrows rain above the orc army. The tension in their eyes, the fear of dying is replaced with anger and killing intent while the time of the battle was getting close.

The soldiers in front of the iron gate were not enough to stop even a quarter of that army, and they knew that. Yet most people were fathers, brothers, and people trying to have some peace and defend their family, many of them will not return home and they also knew that. But they were ready to fight even with no chances of winning because they had precious people to protect.

The orc army doesn't have any siege weapons, but they had numerous giant beasts named Clatus, an aggressive best that is trained since birth to serve the masters and is usually used by many non-humans species during siege attacks. An adult Clatus usually have 15 meters, two giant horns, and is a biped creature, which made him pretty slow but with the strength of a thousand men, he was able to even break walls using his giant horns and his claws are huge even for his size.

Once this battle start will be all or nothing and will only end with one army standing.

Yet the orc army was not so numerous as before, without food they resort to cannibalism in these three weeks, there were no more than 50k orcs, but that was enough to kill everyone inside once they break the walls.

"The walls are the only thing protecting us from our death, we must protect them at all cost." The captain guard spoke to the ones above the wall.

Gremory was not going to spend all his mana using Abyss Void over and over, absorbing all mitre crystals until the end. He had a better and insane idea.

He grabbed his sword and summoned Stickyt into his hand, with the shadows he melted the grip of the sword together with the one from Stickyt that was already made of shadows. Making a sword of two blades but ruining his previous sword. (Look at the comment)

He had also placed multiples chains of mitre crystals stuck together, above all his armor.

Then he took out the dark crystals with Cerberus and Geoffrey and then summoned them.

The people panicked seeing Geoffrey as one of his creatures, and at the same time started to get angry at Gremory.

However, Gremory was expecting this, and just after that, he jumped off the wall into the battlefield out of the city with Cerberus next to him. He summoned Mandrake Shield once he was close enough to the ground and after that mounted Cerberus.

He was ready to face the orc army directly.

Claire was surprised by his actions and screamed.

"ARE YOU CRAZY?"

But then Redwig appearing from behind, put his hand on her shoulder and spoke calmly.

"He is always crazy."

"Don't worry, he must have a plan." Rudo spoke.

During this time, Danton was watching from behind, still afraid of dying. But he would not hide and let his brave friend die in vain, so he took one of the hundreds of bows in the wall and spoke.

"And what are you all waiting for? Get ready, we must cover him."

However, Gremory didn't have a plan besides delaying the orc army once they were all in the range of the archers. He would make a dense layer of shadows using the mana of the crystals to protect himself from the attacks while acting as a decoy and killing the most orcs he can.

Edward seeing this also flew to the sky together with the other six mages. Their range was big, so they flew near the orc army and started firing to attract them to the walls before some kind of organization appears between their lines.

Most commanders of the army were dead, so their lines quickly rumbled and started to run towards the wall.

Edward also had his plans of battle, the earth, and water mages using a combination of spells, transformed the ground into quicksand, delaying the movement of the troops once they got close enough to the range of the archers in the walls.

That didn't delay the giant beasts at all, but they kept all the Clatus behind and were sending first the orcs with ladders and shield orcs to protect them. And the worst thing, they had a battering ram in the middle of the disorganized formation. (Look at the comment)
