A White Heron's Rise / MHA x GI

Kamisato Ayaka wakes up in the middle of a room inside the world of MHA/BNHA. Now separated from everyone she knew back in Teyvat, she must learn to let go and find her new place in the world as a Hero. Why? When? How? She'll soon learn enough, though it seems she wasn't the first one to ask those questions nor would she seem to be the last. Notice: Art is not mine. Credit to @.TorinoAqua

Revelation

It was time, Ayaka had finished waking up and preparing and already went to the station and met with the others. They didn't have their costumes on like any other hero, covertness was paramount.

They were doing something possibly dangerous but Ayaka was determined to follow Aizawa's warning to not draw attention to themselves.

"We're here."

The train doors opened wide for the group to move forward and step onto the platform in Yokohama.

"Let's get this over with." Katsuki moved his way to the front. "Frosty, what do you already have on these people?"

Ayaka had already gone over what she knew. "There is something suspicious on the accounts of events here in Yokohama. I heard crime picked up a year ago and I found something odd."

Each of them steps out, All Might included among the roster of students, who was of course in his shrunken form. Izuku glances at the conversation and gives his thoughts.

"Odd? Crime rising in itself isn't telling of much. Factors come together when determining how much has been affected by a variable. Like poverty or something else."

"I thought that too, Midoriya. We have nothing much on that part but that's what I have now. Looking out for nighttime activities could also work if we don't find anything."

Eijiro pulls on his head, trying to stretch it out as he goes to the group's vicinity. "So, that's why we're here so early... Are we supposed to do this until night?"

"I don't want it to be so late in finding out something about the Fatui, Kirishima. All Might is here with us just in case but I hope you all know we aren't here to fight."

"You hear that Bakugo?" Eijiro put his arm around Katsuki. "Don't go exploding on us again."

"Get off of me Shitty Hair!" He pushes Eijiro away and whips his head to Ayaka. "Is that all you really have on them? Only a few words of mouth from these people, who are they anyways?"

"Yes, it's all I could do. I talked to a bystander, there was Accel, the park manager, some police officers, the barman, and Ember."

"Then let's split up and ask more, maybe something changed. Then again… how would the Fatui know who to attack? You said they targeted you for your Delusion but how would they know who you were?"

A realization hit Ayaka, there'd be no way for the Fatui to know who she was unless they heard it from Yokohama. Even then, she only spoke to a dozen or so.

"I have no idea, after I asked everyone I got a dead end and left. Though, I lost my notes during that time so that could have something to do with it."

Izuku closed his eyes as he tried piecing together the disparate pieces of information. "Losing her notes… it could be someone taking it. Then again why take her notes when they could have attacked you? There's also the Fatui not attacking with a whole team. If that's the case then the people you were talking to would be suspects. Maybe we should try…"

"Deku!" Katsuki aggressively flicked his finger to Izuku's forehead as he was beginning to mutter again. Izuku rubbed the spot where he was hit and looked up, snapping out of his muttering.

"Ah! Sorry! I have an idea, do you have any memory of where you could have left your notes? When was the last time you remember having it?"

Ayaka tries to resurface what she knew, she grasps what she could remember before saying her answer. "I had it when I took notes on the last person I talked to before I bumped into someone, a tall man but I couldn't tell what his face was because of his long coat that had a hoodie."

"Not much to go on, though we do know they have Delusions about themselves. You said they had masks right?"

"Yes, back in Teyvat they usually had them but unlike the Delusions, the Fatui agent I fought didn't use a mask." She paused and recalled the incident. "But the news showed another Fatui member that did wear a mask."

"Hmm… so why the change? They had masks after they did this after taking away the warp-gate user. Perhaps there's been a change in stance. We could possibly see more activity within the Fatui."

"Everyone." All Might called their attention. "Once you need any help, don't be afraid to contact us and move away if a threat presents itself. I can move as fast as I can. Ayaka, where can we meet up?"

Ayaka opens her phone and sends an image through the group chat. "There is a SunYen here, Accel should be working there as I've been told."

Katsuki growled as he walks ahead of the group. "Right, let's talk to the bastard and move out from there."

'Hopefully, nothing bad happens.' Ayaka worried.

~

The 6 gathered in an isolated corner of the coffee shop with each one listening to Ayaka and what they could expect with the Fatui. All Might finalizes their plans as the others stood up from sitting for minutes.

"So are we all aware of what we are supposed to do? I would rather leave this to the authorities, but seeming as how we're up against something beyond what we know, it's imperative we leave the harder aspects to Heroes."

Eijiro yawns, still tired from getting up from bed for too long. "No kidding, Kamisato would have a better chance of recognizing something from her world than any pro-Hero out there."

All Might admits, he may have assumed too fast to let Ayaka do this without a pro-Hero's help. "I wish I could just let you all stay behind and prepare for the Sports Festival but we are already scrambling to work hard on the rise of crime after that incident with the Nomu."

After all that was said, the pro-Heroes did have their hands full. It wasn't hard to see that a recent attack by such a display of power in the middle of a police convoy made criminals brazen.

Though it was just asking around, hopefully. In due time after the whole situation with the League of Villains was sorted, Ayaka would be required to share everything from now on with the school teachers and her classmates.

"Letting you kids do this is hard for me, as well as Aizawa now that I had to tell him I was responsible for you. So please, once again don't engage in combat. Ayaka is here to only confirm if anything changed in Yokohama and if there was something she missed, not fighting the Fatui directly."

Everyone looked toward Katsuki but he understood that they had a reason to. He responds by dragging away Eijiro who learned not to question it.

"Yes, All Might." The rest responds as they watched Katsuki and Eijiro go ahead with a quickened pace.

"Remember, I won't be able to respond to a situation fast enough if I go along with one of you. So I'll stay here since it's at the center of where you all are going to go."

As Ayaka walked away with Izuku by her side she glances at Accel who was visibly still shaken from Katsuki's harsh entrance.

She ushers Izuku forward before leaning against the counter and apologizing on behalf of anything Katsuki does. "Sorry for my acquaintances, I hope it wasn't too much of a bother."

"No worries, I just hope… Bakugo, was it? Knows when to act like a hero. I'm sure when you guys get to work under a pro Hero, you know how to respect them."

Ayaka nodded. "Bakugo can be that way but he does hold respect for Heroes. He's readjusting to being humble. Thank you for your input on him, maybe I'll tell him what you said."

The color from Accel's face drained as Ayaka walked away, he grips her hand in desperation and shakily tells her. "No, please don't. I would rather stay alive…"

They all left the coffee shop and went their separate ways. Ayaka and Izuku towards the police station, Todoroki with the garden keeper, and Katsuki and Eijiro go to the bar Ayaka mentioned.

Ayaka closes the distance to Izuku and walked to the police station. Despite the uplifting conversations and general feeling of being with friends, Ayaka still had worries anchoring her down.

Izuku had been doing the same thing, as a friend he couldn't help but notice it all. Ayaka was usually excited and genuinely looking forward to studying in U.A. to become a hero.

"Kamisato, is it really possible for the Fatui to have the ability to return to Teyvat? It just seems so unbelievable."

"Unbelievable as it may be, it is infallible proof that it is completely within the realm of possibility that someone can transfer over. I am a prime example of that."

"I've read on theories about teleportation, Quirks like those are rare within the population and are sought after by government and criminals alike. If the Fatui really think they can open up a portal to another dimension, then they would be the first to risk it."

Suddenly, Izuku had an important question in mind. "Hey, Kamisato. If it were possible to return to your old world, return to everyone you know and go back to your old life, would you take the chance?"

She stopped her walk, it was a concerning reality that she would eventually come face to face with, a clear tightness came from her chest and she didn't know how to respond.

"...Truthfully, I- I don't know. I have been adjusting to this life for almost a year. I wouldn't know how to feel when you ask me to leave another family just like that."

"Sorry about that, erm... the police station is just up ahead!" Izuku quickly changed the subject. He sped walked and left Ayaka to ponder before she followed.

~

"Nope." Yoshino doesn't even look up from her desk.

"Really?" Izuku asked again.

"Nope!" She does it with more vigor this time.

He was getting nervous, not a single crime stood out. "Not even a change?"

"…Ah! There was a report of a gathering, we tried putting it up with our superiors but they said they had more important things to manage."

"A gathering that could be something else…" Izuku theorizes. "There really isn't anything new in here huh?"

"Well… if you're wondering." Yoshino gets closer to whisper. "Truth is, most of the old people here are either too lazy to deal with mundane things, even if it can lead to something."

"That's horrible," Ayaka remarked. "No matter how small it is, a crack precedes a collapse. It's true in any form that anything small can lead to a bigger problem."

Yoshino nodded but with a slight frown. "That's what I said too but they didn't hear me out since I'm not even close enough in rank."

Izuku didn't like the feeling of hopelessness, the police weren't at the forefront of fighting Quirk-related crimes but they were important nonetheless.

Seeing them being prevented from possibly finding criminals because of laziness was a sting to his thoughts. "Can you do nothing about trying to get more investigations? Even if it is peaceful from the outside?"

"Aww! Don't start sulking. Isn't it good news that there isn't anything major like you described? We would've gotten patrols notifying us if they see something suspicious."

Ayaka pats a hand on Izuku's back as a way to comfort him before heading in front to talk. "It's fine Midoriya, the officer is correct, we should be happy nothing is wrong."

"…You're right. We should head back to the cafe, maybe the others can have something better to tell us-"

*BBBZTT*

Izuku felt his pockets vibrate, a message came and he was about to take it out to look but something else more… attention-grabbing was heard.

"A phone call… is here!"

Ayaka jolted from the noise before realizing and taking out her own phone much to the looks of everyone within a radius around her.

"A phone call… is here!"

"Is that your ringtone?" Izuku plainly asked.

Ayaka responded without a second thought. "He said it's a nice ringtone." She carefully omitted All Might being part of the conversation in public.

"A phone call… is here-"

"Yes? Bakugo what do you-"

"Bar!"

*CLICK*

The call ended with only one word but she knew what had to be done in those few short seconds, she looked up from her phone and nodded to Izuku who found his phone being pinged by a message.

"Can we ask you to find something for us?" Izuku asked Yoshino.

~

All Might was in his disheveled form when he came and stayed at the cafe, as soon as he had a call from Eijiro and a text on their group chat, he sprung into action like never before.

Fuelled by his newfound resolve after the USJ incident, he didn't waste time to find a place to bulk up and not underestimate a threat. He'd put 200% the moment he'd see a big threat, not like before when'd he'd try to conserve his time.

"Young Bakugo." He spots them just around a building before stopping. "Explain."

Katsuki wasn't one to hold back on what he had found. "The bastard right there, the one who works is a match."

"Are you sure?" All Might looked to the person in question. "He doesn't look like much."

"But his story and his stature make it definitely him, he says he's been working for a year at least but when I checked with Half and Half, some shit had gone down."

All Might gestures for him to continue.

"A string of robberies came that lines up in the time frame where he has said to be working. It was a far-fetched guess but I made Half and Half go to the club and ask since Frosty had noted that dumbass mundane answer from the park keeper. I thought it wasn't related but Half and Half came back with news."

He pointed to the man while he worked over the counter, they were a street away but could tell who was the barman.

"The owners of the club clearly recall them because they all were together. 5 people to be exact and the owner remembered what they looked like because the police came to ask about the incident later. That's when everything stopped, I don't know why but I'm sure Deku would've gotten my message by now."

Katsuki was cooperative and took it seriously this time. It showcased his intellect when it counted and not just the wild boy he was expected by his peers. Even Eijiro had to respect him more.

The minutes ticked by with the trio being joined by Shoto while Katsuki explained more crudely to his other classmate.

Then came the important part…

*PING!*

His phone had a single notification sound coming from it, Katsuki took no time to look before smiling and raising it for everyone to see.

"Look, tall stature, black hair, middle-aged, thick eyebrows, and an arched nose. Doesn't that sound familiar?" He had a grin on his face, he was proud he'd gotten a correct assumption.

Shoto had a neutral look before blurting out. "No, I don't know anyone like that."

"I mean the person in the bar, dumbass!" Katsuki snapped back.

"Oh."

"Idiot! All Might, we need him to get out of there and get him before he leaves. It's definitely him, we might not get another chance. He's the only one who matches that description among anyone Frosty met the last time she was here."

All Might nodded, and by pure chance, they had seen the man in question walk outside. It was a hunch but, it could be an opportunity.

"Talk to the other employee inside so he wouldn't be suspicious. I'll handle apprehending and questioning the other one." All Might advised.

The plan was set in motion, only one of the boys who looked old enough could potentially play their part in entering and they all decided Shoto could pass off as one.

All Might was on the roof of the establishment, seeking an opportunity to seize the man before he can notice.

A bag of trash was thrown to the ground, followed by another one. The man himself exited and carried the bags before approaching a dumpster at the back of the building.

*CRACK!*

The force from his feet impacting the roof caused it to crack, All Might without hesitation pounces towards the suspect before he could even think.

"Gack!" The man sputtered. "All Might?!" He tried clawing his way out of All Might's hold but relents after struggling.

"What do you want?" He calmly asked, accepting the fact he couldn't possibly release himself from the No.1 Hero.

"Answers."

All Might took his phone and sent a message to the others, it wouldn't take long before everyone would be able to arrive at the back.

Minutes arrived later and the man didn't fight All Might, Ember was already notified that they had some Hero work involving his colleague. At first, he was obviously confused but when the No.1 Hero has done something, it must be serious.

Ayaka had no time to think but to rush, getting the information needed from a police report a year ago was troublesome. Still, they had arrived in time for everyone to see the man looking so defeated.

It wasn't the look of someone who didn't have anything to hide, Ayaka noted. The way he snapped his eyes towards Ayaka the moment he arrived was a clear tell he was involved.

"How'd you figure it out?" The man said in a solemn tone. "No, don't tell me. I have no reason to drag this out more than needed."

"Damn, straight! So you are involved with the idiots that call themselves the Fatui! Frosty, how do we know if he's the one who attacked you?"

"It's not me… I can safely say I'm no Fatui anymore."

The mention garnered much attention from everyone else. Ayaka approached before looking at All Might to signal him to release his hold.

He obliged as Ayaka spoke. "What do you mean? Why here of all places? What happened to you all?"

He chuckled but it wasn't out of joy, more like a sudden response. "Why here, you ask? Ember… he reminded me of my old self before I met Ivan."

"Ivan?"

"Used to be a leader… first, I'll clarify I hold no intention to harm you. It was simply inevitable."

Katuski seemed to burst into a fit after that. "Inevitable?! You call almost killing someone inevitable?!" He yanked down on the man's collar and forced him to kneel.

"Bakugo, let him go." She leaned closer. "What do you mean?"

"The younger ones always had a passion for serving the Tsaritsa…" he trailed off before looking back at each of the group. "I suppose I need to explain everything."

He stood back up and reached around his employee's uniform and lifted a section over his stomach. A deep gash was present with more bruises going upwards.

"This is their doing… let me introduce myself. I am Tokarev, no last name given. The apparent Traitor of the Fatui."
