A while away: two sides to a coin

It's the 15th of January today and tomorrow is my birthday but I am not feeling at all like it. My mother had said it's not every day you turn twenty- three you know, but my mind has been wavering to something else entirely since it's my graduation from the university in a week. I often think of how life would be after my graduation. I have been posted to Zamfara for my service with my best friends Anike and Asani, and that makes me happy. At least all my dreams may have been falling into place. An eighteen-year-old young lady who had walked into the university with only the mindset of being one of the greatest archaeologists in the world, taking one step at a time, and now the dream is right in front of me, all I could think of is what next after all this, how do I even get through with this.

I am raised by a woman who wished for me to be a medical doctor. I also have a little brother whose life is all about science, my name is Winnie Ayooni Williams, and I will be twenty- three tomorrow. My opinion on life is that " Life is best lived when we understand that nothing goes forever, all that we do and achieve will only become artefacts in the future". A memory left behind, and the remains from you many people will look at and tell what you have done with your life just by a single touch.
