A Storm of Mutants

After some hours of riding with Ava to the edge of the city, a storm was coming over us. It was already starting to pour over us. Luckily we weren't traveling on foot or else we would've been stuck sinking into the ground full of mud.

The Storm has finally started to cover the whole city. Flashes and the sound of thunder were continuously striking the buildings. The mutant that had swallowed the building was screaming out loudly from the continued attacks of the lightning. It seemed like it was purposely attacking the mutant.

The continued attacks of the lightning from the storm were loud so I had to yell out loud to Ava who was right in front of me driving the hovercycle.

"Hey, Ava!"

"Yeah!?"

"Do you see the edge of the city yet?!"

"Yeah, I can just barely see the edge of the city!"

A few minutes have passed after this short conversation.

*5 minutes later*

"Alright, we're here!." Ava says.

It was still storming. Both of them got off the hovercycle. I look to see Ava take out a ball. The ball opens itself and the hovercycle goes inside. I don't know how to describe it but it seemed like in detail that the hovercycle was turning into liquid and getting absorbed into the ball. It looks a bit weird if I say so myself as a person who lived in the past era before this Apocalypse.

"We need to get up over the wall," Ava says.

"How the hell are we going to do that?... Don't you dare do the same thing as last time! You know what happened when you did that!"

"Alright, I won't do that!"

Something could be heard behind the wall.

"Do you hear that Ava?"

"Hear what?"

"Master, The mutants are about to break through the wall.

"Ava! The wall is about to be broken down by the mutants"

"How do you know that!?"

"Got a new buddy with me. This buddy is inside of me."

After I said this Ava made a scared face.

"It's not a person or anything! It's like a different organism."

"Oh, you scared me there I thought- never mind."

We look back at the wall, forgetting everything that just happened a minute ago. The walls could be heard breaking on the other side of the wall by the mutants

"Ava we're going to have to brace ourselves for this"

I and Ava looked over at the wall that's about to explode with mutants behind it. The walls broke down with bits and pieces flying over us, almost hitting Ava right in the forehead. We saw what was in front of us and together we said.

"...Nope"

Both of us knew what we were thinking. Ava pulled out the ball and the Hovercycle quickly came out. Ava jumped on. I jumped on from behind. The hovercycle was quickly turned on.

"Hurry the hell up!" Ava yelled.

The hovercycle finally activated and we went full speed ahead from the opposite of the mutants.

"Did you see that Min!"

"Yeah, I f**king did. They were f**king humongous!"

"There's no way we can fight those things!"

That's right those things were the blob mutant that I encountered when The messed up mutant and "It" were fighting. I started thinking as much as I can about which way we were going to go.

"Min we're going to have to turn somewhere or else we're riding to our death to the mutant that eat that whole tall building."

"Master, go left there is no mutants in that area"

"Turn left Ava."

Ava turned to the left of the road. Did I forget to mention that we're not in the desolate area of the city… Oh yeah, I did.

"Min now's not the time to be talking to yourself."

"Right."

*20 minutes later*

Riding on the hovercycle it was still storming nonstop. There were fewer lightning strikes by now and It was much more calmer.

"I think now's a good time to stop and rest," I said.

"Yeah, I think you're right."

We stopped at a building that's still attached. The building was a clothing store.

"Oh nice, we can change clothes here. If there is even any left."

We stopped at the front of the store. We got off and I headed in first before Ava while she was putting the hovercycle back in the ball. I'm in the clothing store to see that some of the clothes under the bloody ones were still at least fresh and clean.

"Hey Ava, I think we have new clothes now."

Ava was already picking out any clothes she could find to wear.

"Yeah I know"

We changed clothes

*10 minutes later*

After done changing clothes and cleaning ourselves a bit we met up at the back of the store making sure that there were no mutants in the vicinity that can see us.

Min Appearance: Black stockings, Black jacket, Black shoes, A glove that doesn't cover her fingers. (Same as what Min first had on before meeting Ava.)

Ava Appearance: Loose T-shirt, Leggings

"Whoa, Ava you look so beautiful. You look so different from your military clothes."

"And you still look the same as when I first met you. I don't know why but it really suits you"

"Oh right, Ava you must be hungry right now. Here I found a ShocoBar behind the counter"

"Thanks."

I give the ShocoBar to Ava.

"Just so you know, my body was built to be able to survive without food for a week or 2. So you don't have to worry about me starving to death"

"Oh, that's nice to know," I said.

"It's about to get dark. We have to find a safe space to sleep." Ava being a bit careful.

"Yeah, I think so too."

"We moved further into the clothing store not seeing a trace of mutants and just some dead rotten bodies that we're used to smelling. We reached the end. We sat down on the ground.

"Oh man, It's so much less intense now," I said

"Same. although it's still not a relaxing time right now."

"Yeah"

Both of us remained silent and closed our eyes lying on the ground for a few minutes not to notice that we already fell asleep. It seemed time was moving so much faster than it was when I was alone by myself and now I'm with Ava.

"This is Min today's date is July 28, 2302. I'm going to sleep now."
