Decision

A girl seemed to let out a long sigh. She felt bored with some of the things she had experienced lately, including ... her romance.

A love affair that can't be said to be as old as corn and maybe now she should be able to reap happiness with her partner.

But the opposite is true!

She admits that she really loves her boyfriend, especially since she has been with him for almost five years since she was in college.

It's just that both of them are so busy that their relationship seems to be limited by movement and also the big wall that is increasingly looming between them.

Once the girl took the initiative to make her relationship like the old days which was much more harmonious and like a romance in general, but the initiative ended not according to her predictions at all.

Her boyfriend, the founder of the largest digital design company, was too busy with his work.

Inevitably, the girl who is often called Cathleen must expand her chest to accept the fact that her relationship with her lover Jedd is not like most other couples.

"I think my current relationship is bland," said Cathleen who was closing her eyes while leaning on a sofa in her study.

"So, what do you really want? Haven't you always prided yourself on your long-lasting relationships? Then why do you look sad?"

Cathleen let out a ragged breath before opening her eyes to stare at her best friend who had always been there for her.

"Would you like to replace me as the head of this company for a while?"

"What do you mean?"

Cathleen shrugged her shoulders softly.

"You always told me to take some time off or vacation time because I never took any, and now I'm going to put it to good use."

"How long?"

Cathleen was silent for a moment and it wasn't long before an ambiguous answer came from Fred, Cathleen's best friend and partner in the company they had founded together.

While her boyfriend Jedd's company was in digital design, Cathleen and Fred's company was in architecture.

"You're not just going to leave the company, are you?" Fred asked Cathleen reassuringly.

"Of course not! You can rest assured that if there's any project, and you can't handle it, you can email me. I'm not going to abdicate responsibility for the company, I just hope you can temporarily take over my position."

If Cathleen had made the decision, then Fred couldn't deny or reject her wishes.

Fred knew very well that if Cathleen was at the point of wanting to be alone, it meant she was in trouble and needed space to vent her emotions alone.

Fred, who could be said to have known Cathleen from childhood, was of course well aware of Cathleen's tough character.

"What are you going to tell Jedd later?"

Cathleen shrugged her shoulders softly and told Fred that she would tell him what she was feeling at the moment.

"I need time to organize my heart, Fred."

"Shall I accompany you?" Fred finally asked Cathleen.

Cathleen gave Fred a smile and a slow shake of her head.

Fred could only sigh roughly. It felt like he wanted to ask or interrogate Cathleen about the girl's very sudden reason, but Cathleen's tough and unconquerable character made Fred abandon his intention to ask further about it.

Let Cathleen herself tell him the reason sooner or later.

One thing Fred was sure about Cathleen's situation was that she was not in a good relationship with her boyfriend.

"Ah, Fred I advise you to marry your lover soon, so that your lover doesn't feel the way I do," Cathleen said again unexpectedly.

Oh, come on, what exactly was poisoning Cathleen's mind?

Couldn't Cathleen have given Fred a grid?

That was more or less what Fred had in mind.

"Are you okay?" asked Fred once again trying to dig for more information, hoping that Cathleen would open up to him more.

Only...

"I'm fine, just need a break?" Cathleen said, trying to remain positive and reluctant to share what was going on in her heart.

Fred let out a long sigh.

"I give up. You always do," Fred squeaked softly.

Cathleen chuckled at him. Honestly in her heart, she was glad that her best friend was always on her side, even though he had a girlfriend.

She used to think that if Fred had a girlfriend then he wouldn't have time for her in good times or bad, but the opposite was true!

Fred kept his promise to always be there for Cathleen, so it was not uncommon for Jedd to be jealous of Fred's existence without Cathleen realizing it herself.

After the unexpected conversation, Cathleen told Fred again that she would be taking her vacation starting next week, and that this week she would finish all the things she needed to get done.

"Well, I hope that your vacation this time can be refreshing."

"I hope so," Cathleen replied quickly.

"Why do I feel like something bad is going to happen?" Said a young man who clutched his tight chest several times.

"Sir, are you alright?" asked the assistant who was currently standing in front of his desk.

Jedd nodded his head slowly, saying that he was fine.

If Jedd said so, then that meant that Louise had no right to ask further questions about something that Jedd was reluctant to discuss with him.

"Ah... did Cathleen contact me during the meeting?" asked Jedd suddenly to Louise.

"Miss Cathleen did not contact you this time sir."

'Strange? Why do I feel something is off?

"Alright, then just leave me alone for now."

"Sir, in half an hour, we will have a mee-"

Before Louise could finish explaining Jedd's schedule, the young man was busy waving his hand as if telling Louise to get out of his room.

Inevitably, Louise was forced to leave the room without finishing the information he was supposed to give to Jedd.

Jedd's hand skillfully pressed Cathleen's contact trying to reach his girlfriend.

The one thing that Jedd hoped for was none other than that his lover was in good condition, and to make sure that his worries meant nothing.
