A Reincarnator's Journey

David Valor, a normal sophomore student, dies in a cliche 'truck-kun' accident just to get sent to another world by the system! Using the 'true' system, he slowly rises to the top of the food chain before truly begining his adventure! (David may not be a "Good" Mc as I want to write it in a way of what I would do if I was in this situation myself. Of course there will also be some things different than what I think as well.) *** Note: I have no real plans for this story, it was made on a whim, so it may lose quality on the way, please read with caution! Schedule: I'm still in school so updates will also be somewhat slow, also, english is not my first language so please comment if I wrote something wrong! Thank you for reading!

**(Vale Household)**

Sarah and Ben were currently in the office, with Sarah massaging his shoulders.

"Darling, do you think they'll pass? I heard how there were some problems requiring the increase of the difficultly of the exams." Sarah pulled a long face, feeling a bit worried about their faces of disappointment if they didn't pass.

"Don't worry, they're going to come back soon anyway, they'll have to wait for their scores to come out. There's no use in worrying about something we can't control anymore." Ben patted her head.

"... I'm more worried about Bennett though. I'm quite confident that David could pass, but if he couldn't... haaah... there's no chance for Bennett then." Sarah shook her head in resignation.

"Uh!? T-true... ha... haha." Ben laughed it off. 'Sorry, Bennett, seems like Sarah has been completely won over by David... me too, actually.'

Ben stopped laughing as he sensed a few people enter his residence. His face lit back up sensing the familiar aura of David and Bennett, "Oh! Seems like they're back!"

Immediately hopping off his back, Sarah ran out of the office, "Is that so? Then I need to be the first to greet them then!"

"Ah? Ok..." Ben sulked, slouching in his office chair as his rhythm was disrupted with the loss of his beautiful wife.

**(Outside The Residence)**

"Alright, I'm guessing that someone is coming out soon, Bennett, stand in front of me." David grabbed Bennett's hand and dragged him so he would be walking in front of him.

"Wha? Who? Mother?" Bennett turned his head, asking in curiosity.

"You'll see, just keep your position and continue walking in front of me." David had just finished writing and placed the notebook into his {Inventory}.

As they reached closer to the door to the residence, the door opened, revealing Sarah, who was charging straight for Bennett. At this moment, David had long sensed her, and so, he was prepared and pushed Bennett forwards as if he was sacrificing him as he dodged to the right.

"You betray-Ah!" Bennett had barely reacted and was only looking at David who was currently moving to the side, walking into the house calmly.

Sarah rubbed his cheeks with her own cheeks, "I missed you so much! How did you do?... W-Eh? Bennett? Where's David?" Sarah pushed him away as soon as she saw that she wasn't hugging David.

"David's most likely inside now, mother." Bennett replied.

Nodding, Sarah completely ignored Bennett and ran back into the house shouting, "David! Come to mother and let her give you a hug!" without a shred of her past noble gracefulness and manners.

Bennett smiled to himself, slowly walking into the residence, only to see Sarah basically tackle David to the ground as she usually does when she doesn't see the kids for any more than a few hours, not to mention days.

Inside the residence...

"Mother... you're crushing me..." David reminded her as usual.

"Are you ok? Do I need to get your father here to treat you?" Sarah quickly let go and questioned as she shook him.

"I'm fine mother, please stop shakkkkking meeeee." David closed his eyes as to not nauseate himself.

Letting go of him, Sarah and the two sat down in the living room, "Oh! Right. Tell me how you did in the combat part of the exam? Bennett, you first."

Seeing the somewhat serious face on Sarah, the two boys sat a bit straighter, "I believe that I have done satisfactory, mother. The only problem was that my examiner was an assassin so the small strikes that was inflicted on me slowly deteriorated my overall prowess. There was also the fact that I had to move around quite a bit, so I ended up only lasting 4 minutes before I ran out of stamina."

"I see, next up, David!" Sarah turned to David with a bright smile as if she was expecting something great to happen.

"I most likely passed as I have defeated my examiner within the three minutes period he was testing me." David gave a brief explanation, gaining Sarah's curiosity.

"Mn! As expected of my baby David! Muah! Muah!" Sarah jumped in excitement as she bear-hugged and kissed (on the cheek) David again, much to his dismay.

"M-mom... please don't hug me... so hard." David actually did feel something was about to break in his body! That's not healthy! And it's also cliche! Haaaalp!!!!!

"Sorry about that dear..." Sarah moved away, lowering her head, giving everyone the sense that David just bullied her.

"I-it's fine, mother. Anything else you want to know?" David asked.

"Mn! There really weren't many people who were able to defeat their instructor before they enter the academy, restricted or not! So... since they don't tell us these things, tell me more about the combat exam you've gone through!" Sarah basically demanded.

"Got it..." David began to tell his experiences of the less than 3 minutes fight with the first magician examiner and how he got pummeled by the second examiner.

Sarah had smiled very brightly when she heard about him talking about the first examiner, but from the beginning part of the second examiner, her expression fell quite hard. David did include how he 'died' in that exam as well but tried to make it as light as possible after noticing her expression which she caught anyway.

"Dear... you don't have to lie about your experiences to make me feel better. Please, tell me all about it." Sarah lifted her head, and smiled with her eyes closed, releasing a dangerous aura where even Ben had to step out of his office in a slight panic.

"D-dear? What happened? Why are you flaring your aura so much?" Ben anxiously ran to her side.

"Huh? Oh! Sorry about that everyone, I wasn't feeling well." Sarah smiled again.

'Bullshit!' everyone else in the room thought in unison.

"Mother, we'll be in our room since you don't feel well. Please rest more, mother." David bowed before leaving, signaling Bennett to follow him.

Noticing his signal, Bennett nodded and bowed towards Sarah, "As brother says, please rest if you're not feeling well, mother."

"Mn. I'm sure you're all tired as well from your exam. I'll take care of her." Ben approved.

The two nodded and left the living room, leaving just the still shaken servants, Ben and Sarah alone.

"Dear... tell me what happened for you to flare up so much?" Ben sat down on the couch next to her, placing his hand over hers.

"Mn. It was... nothing, just my overprotectiveness getting the best of me." Sarah began explaining the second part of David's exam in detail to Ben.

"Huh... I see, even then, they should know how most of the nobles act, they would be offending the family if they did that. So why did they...?" Ben did find something wrong with it since noble families were actually quite arrogant, so having their children being treated like that could be a downfall for them.

"That's the point! I don't understand why they would do this. Dear..." Sarah wanted to say more but was cut off by Ben as he hugged her, "I know, I'll keep watch. Don't worry, darling..."

"Mn... I trust you." Sarah buried her head into his shoulder, making Ben smile brightly seeing his wife depend on him again.

'Nice one, David!' He gave a thumbs up in his head.

"Achoo! Someone must be talking about me according... to anime? Yeah, definitely not a cold." David ignored the sneeze and went to get cleaned up.
