Another Boss?

With the increase in his attributes, the clouds turned back into a dark shade of grey, confusing him.

"Ok? Seems like it isn't completely...broken? Is this even accurate?" David had fought many monsters in the area, though he did use traps, the monsters weren't intelligent nor strong when he fought them.

While David was thinking, he felt something being picked up by his mana sense. When he turned around, suddenly, his feet were tie to the ground.

"Damn! I knew it couldn't have been so easy! {Fire Claws}!" He ripped the surrounding plants and burned them to ashes, as he didn't want the environment to be against him in this potential boss fight.

"Who's there!" David yelled out, knowing that the beast had already locked onto him.

'It's moving too fast, I can't set up my {Earth Spikes} fast enough...' David began to sweat a bit before smiling in excitement.

While he yelled, he also swung around, burning more and more of the grass around him as even the grass was growing back at a visible pace.

'There's no way... I'm still in the safe area, it should be close enough to the city where there should be no real dangerous beasts... but this aura is no joke.' David stared in front of him as he locked eyes with it.

"A hybrid dares to come here? And to speak to me like that... you must die!" the beast roared out, and strong air pressure blew the grass towards David, making his block with his arms as he felt a pressure on them, blowing him away in an instant.

"Arghh!" Rolling through the grass, David surrounded himself with fire mana, scaring away the plants that were about to grab him.

Putting his hands on the ground, he flipped himself up and into a battle stance in his original form. Whatever the beast is, he couldn't even resist its roar for 5 seconds, let alone its strikes so he spread his wings and flew into the air.

When he saw who the beast was... his eyes widened in shock.

The beast was... an elephant! The elephant here was quite similar to those back on Earth, though there were a few changes in the appearance. The tusks are slightly larger and sharper, seemingly able to pierce even mana barriers with the strength of a reinforced steel wall! The ears were slightly smaller, and its body was slightly leaner and slimmer than a regular elephant.

It's actually mostly the same, just that the aura coming off of it and the control of mana it has had scared David a bit as he almost never had a real challenge since he left his birth cave...

"Wait... how come I've never seen this elephant? It's taller than some trees!" David shouted in surprise, but it didn't stop him from shooting dozens of small element particles, trying to resemble a swarm of bees.

(A/N: I did search this up on the internet, yes elephants are scared of bees, and maybe some other animals as well...)

"Those wings... a dragon hybrid? Seems like I've misjudged you! Even an impure dragon's blood will help me evolve!" The elephant raised its nose and blew out another large pressure, which David had dodged just in time.

'Seems like this elephant isn't affected... {Apprasial}!' David ordered.

'No wonder why it's so strong! Guess I need to find an easier weak spot!' David flew straight towards the elephant.

"Oh? You're approaching me? Even when you should be running, you're approaching me?" The elephant lifted its head up in arrogance.

"I can't kill you without getting closer." David coldly replied, narrowing his eyes in focus.

"Oh? Then come as close as you'd like!" The elephant scoffed.

(A/N: I wanted to do it, I don't care if it's late, let me have my moment!)

David continuously blasted the elephant while he was slowly going around it. To avoid any suspicion, he curved the elemental orbs while also aiming for the eyes to block its vision.

The only problem was that the elephant was still able to hit David multiple times, breaking multiple of his ribs, slowing his movements down.

"Taking one from Shiro... Bingo!" David changed an enhanced {Earth Spike} and rammed it up the elephant's butt.

The elephant roared, blowing the entire area around it away, including David. Due to the fact that the elephant reacted quickly, it only pierced the intestines, giving it mass internal bleeding.

"Should be a decent injury at least... again!" David summoned a few more {Earth Spikes} to continuously bombard the elephant, leaving it defenseless for further attack.

What happened next surprised and shocked David...

The elephant easily shook off the spikes and began charging at David with killing intent. The worst part was that David was still trying to fight off the pain of his wing bones being dislocated from the pressure he faced.

"Fuck! {Earth Wall}!" Pouring a massive amount of mana into his arm, he slammed the ground, making it shake as a large and thick brown wall appear in front of David.

Looking at his hp, David saw the from the two attacks he suffered, a third of his health was already gone, though that was around 20 seconds ago, so he was already beginning to heal.

before he could get to his feet, a loud rumble shook everything around him.

"{Flux Claws}..." showing his trump card, David stood up, and his claws were glowing gold, stepping back from the wall to give himself some space.

The {Earth Wall} broke, and the elephant still had a large amount of momentum that was enough to one-shot multiple Davids if it were to hit.

"I need to end it quick..." David stepped to the side and straightened his hands, aiming for the elephant's neck.

Because of the momentum, the elephant wasn't able to turn without crashing, so it could only move forward.

Seeing that the elephant was about to pass him, David quickly stabbed his hands forward, piercing the elephant's neck before his claws cracked.

"Shit!" As the claws were still a part of him, he could feel an incredible amount of pain, as if his nails were ripped out before a torturer skillfully broke the fingers into dozens of pieces while also piercing his muscle and skin.

"Argh! {Magma Wall}!" David poured another portion of his mana to slant the wall of magma, slamming into the elephant, making it shake before it fell on its sides, wailing in pain.

The elephant's tail and nose were flailing wildly as its size was making it difficult to stand back up.

"Tch... annoying, good thing I still have my left hand..." David dodged all of the attacks from the mad elephant and stabbed it in the neck again.

"At least... it was... by some... one strong..." The elephant's eyes darkened before it lost all color, showing that it was dead.

"No... not... bad... crap, I used too much mana... getting so into the fight... passing... out..." David kneeled on the ground with a pale frown on his face.

Before he passed out, he stored the elephant's body. He then dug a small hole for himself to hide for the night.

"This... this isn't right... guess there are certain... limitations for the system's level up... healing factor." David laid in the hole and closed his eyes, hoping for some shitty plot convenience so that he would be able to wake up the next day.
