A Reincarnator's Journey

David Valor, a normal sophomore student, dies in a cliche 'truck-kun' accident just to get sent to another world by the system! Using the 'true' system, he slowly rises to the top of the food chain before truly begining his adventure! (David may not be a "Good" Mc as I want to write it in a way of what I would do if I was in this situation myself. Of course there will also be some things different than what I think as well.) *** Note: I have no real plans for this story, it was made on a whim, so it may lose quality on the way, please read with caution! Schedule: I'm still in school so updates will also be somewhat slow, also, english is not my first language so please comment if I wrote something wrong! Thank you for reading!

Gluri held his hand into the air, 'The hell? Shouldn't he only be an early third-tier hybrid? Why is he so... oh... dragon, that's right.'

Gluri felt a small premonition from the aura that spilled out of David.

The aura contained several sparks of light, yet also never-ending darkness, like a black hole.

'Another technique breakthrough?' Gluri grits his teeth in envy.

Gluri stepped back, spinning his staff to repel the energy that was coming towards him, 'Fuck! Even those at rank five usually don't have such a strong momentum for breaking through!'

The two different auras were merging, fusing into one. It wasn't completely natural but felt like something was helping David control it.

'Thanks, system.' David thought as he placed his other hand on the staff.

...

'No response even after a compliment? That's cold.' David smiled wryly.

*Ding~*

[Due to the {Weapons Genius} title, and {Skill Improvement} skill, all weapon technique skills have reset to the ??? scale...]

'A scaling system for skills?' David had some mixed feelings.

Seeing the notification, David felt as if he gained more experience instead of losing them.

'What about my other skills then? The scales for certain skills are going to be messed up. Oh! A new quest... I was planning on doing that anyway...' David sighed.

He felt the disturbance within himself loosen even more as time went on, and a rush of thoughts and ideas came rushing into his head.

"Argh!" David held his head in pain.

Slowly the aura that was leaking out of him begin to retract, returning to him.

It was like one of those times where an MC with a system gets a skill and gets a memory implant, making them able to receive... several years... decades of experience in a few hours or so.

And... It... Fucking... HURT!

'Damn! Feels like my head is literally becoming bigger!' David groaned.

*Whoosh~*

The adaptation from his monster blood quickly comes in, and David had felt warm his entire body. The aura stabilized, revealing a small transparent extra layer of defense.

Gluri was on the side, repeatedly spinning his staff, sighing, 'Seems like he's finally done.'

"Hah... hah... hah..." David took deep breaths, getting used to the feeling of having such an epiphany.

Although it wasn't direct experience, the amount of background experience fights he's had... using several scenarios had refined his style. It was calmer, it flowed... yet cold, and sharp, combining with the sword.

'What the hell? His weapon aura is nearly as strong as mine when I don't have any clones out!' His mouth twitched in irritation.

Gluri frowned and pointed his staff towards David.

David slowly opened his eyes, and spun his staff, quickly getting into a front stance.

Without waiting for Gluri to do anything, David had already attacked.

*Boom~*

David's staff had swept Gluri's, forcing him to start using his other limbs. Gluri kicked him, but David had blocked without an expression on his face, using the other end of his staff to do so.

David smoothly used his staff to uppercut Gluri, which barely missed.

"You can try harder, you know? I'm sure at least half of the class has lost to you by now, you can recall some clones to fight me if you wish." David taunted.

Gluri gripped his staff tighter, "So you think that I'm weak with so many clones, huh?"

"... No comment." David replied.

Gluri threw a crescent kick, which David ducked.

A stab...

A parry...

An uppercut...

An overhead strike...

*Boom~*

The front of the staff landed on Gluri's chest, "Argh!"

'Again!' David saw several openings in front of him and wanted to take advantage of that.

*Whoosh~*

Gluri stabbed his staff on the ground and jumped onto it, holding himself sideways as he continuously kicked David.

Each kick had incredible power, pushing David back a few meters.

David spun his staff, returning to his front stance, "If I didn't know you were a whole rank above me, I would think that you aren't getting tired at all, even after all of that."

Gluri smirked, "Heh... you better not be arrogant when you lose!"

David raised a brow, "When was I arrogant?"

"You!" Gluri stopped himself.

He jumped towards David, getting ready to show off his more advanced skills.

Gluri threw his staff at David after seeing its cracks throughout the fight, he knew that it wouldn't last long.

*Whoosh~*

David had caught the staff, 'Cracks? I see...'

David spun himself around, and threw it back when Gluri had already started to draw something from behind.

*Shing~*

A quick, precise slash had cut the staff into half before it fell onto the sand, breaking into dozens of pieces of wood.

David looked at him in slight surprise, 'A shortsword... no, he's a samurai, so it's better to call it... a tanto?'

He narrowed his eyes, staring at Gluri with increase vigilance from the blade he'd taken out of... wherever he took it from.

'Seems like we'll have to be serious from here on out.' David changed his stance to a long front stance. He had the range advantage, and he's going to take advantage of that.

Gluri smiled at his move but didn't move.

David had struck, and he struck hard.

*Boom~*

Gluri parried the staff but realized that it was covered in a layer of mana, it didn't make it stronger offensively, but stronger in durability at the very least.

'It's different from what I've encountered so far, a completely different enhancement' Gluri felt some pain in his wrist.

Seeing that Gluri was in a daze, David took that chance to keep attacking.

"Hah!"
