What am I doing?

As Blake was making his way towards the battlefield the opposing armies were already ready to begin a new battle as the sun rose.

Dragnof was in high spirits while Rustmore was a little more sedated. But the opposite was happening between their two rulers. Unease and tension could be seen on Kind Ed's face while Jung was calm and had a small smirk on his face.

With the sound of a war horn blowing from each side, the armies clashed again as the magic canons continued to decimate the backlines of the Rustmore armies.

As it seemed that things were going well and Dragnof was about to overwhelm their opponents, a sudden roar that shook the battlefield and stopped the battle was heard. Then as everyone turned towards where the roar came from, Belserion could be seen approaching the battlefield.

As the soldiers awaited with bated breaths the dragon quickly arrived hovering above the battlefield like a god looking down on ants.

The pressure emitting from him was enough to drown both armies in despair. A voice was heard all throughout the battlefield as Jung spoke in a commanding tone, "Belserion! Show them your might".

That one sentence was enough to cause despair as Belserion suddenly let out a white firey breath that quickly destroyed many of the magic canons as well as anything besides them.

King Edmund quickly called for the army to retreat and form units of 30 and spread about. It would not do for them to be grouped together and make targets for it.

He also decided it was time for him to enter the battle. This wasn't a wear between two kingdoms anymore and more of a struggle for survival. He commanded the remaining canons to open fire on the dragon and try to make it land where the soldiers will hopefully have a chance to wound it, though the hope was almost non existent.

Much to his surprise the dragon than landed and attacked the soldiers on the ground.

Although the soldiers were scared their years of training and experience wasn't forgotten and quickly formed units as they systematically attacked the dragon in various spots that would have killed most wyverns easily.

But this wasn't a wyvern but a dragon and their weapons seem to do little than to annoy it as a single swipe of its claws or tail took out more and more soldiers.

The Rustmore soldiers could be seen moving faraway as possible and watching what could only be called a massacre as the dragon made little work of the foes that they thought were elites.

The generals were dumbfounded but nonetheless rejoiced as it seems their leader had found a way to control a dragon. With its power they could conquer the whole continent. They were dreaming of the power they would have as the Rustmore Empire would soon be born. Jung on the other hand was smirking as he reveled in the power he commanded. He was always a man of ambition. He wanted power from a young age, wanted to be feared. He loved the look people had when he showed them that he was superior to them. That feeling of being almighty was like an intoxicating drug and he was addicted to it.

Next to him Draco the mage was standing holding his skeletal staff and didn't seem to bothered much, but inside he was quietly snickering as only he knew what was about to come.

"Soon, I will have the same power, the same superiority as my enemies cower before my sight. Just like that dragon. No one will dare oppose me!".

As the Dragnof army was only a couple thousand remaining, they were on their last leg. Despair was etched on their faces as nothing seemed to work. They felt like ants trying to take down a mammoth.

Suddenly the dragon stopped its attacks and was about to let out another destructive breath when something hit its head from the side and made it miss its target.

All eyes were on the man that had arrived and had been the one to puch the dragon. King Ed was looking with a sense of relief as well as complicated expression as Blake was facing the dragon and had his back towards the army.

He looked back towards the soldiers and amplified his voice for all to hear, "FALL BACK".

The soldiers immediately obeyed and quickly retreated taking their wounded with them.

Jung and Draco were surprised by his sudden appearance but didn't really feel threatened as a single mage was nothing compared to a dragon. "Belserion Kill Him!", Jung ordered.

Blake was surprised by the name and now knew why Belserion hadn't arrived to Dragnof. "Seems this is also a butterfly effect from my existence", Blake thought as he readied his stance, eyeing Belserion who was readying to attack him.

Activating his magic he quickly disappeared from his position where a giant claw descended and left huge claw marks. He appeared to the side of Belserions face and punched, 'Ragnarok : Meteor fist'. A highly concentrated magic infused fist was rammed straight to the jaw of Belserion and all the onlookers were amazed as the punch managed to topple the mighty dragon and drop to the floor.

Blake still in the air quickly performed another attack as his right leg glowed scarlet red and descended towards Belserions skull, 'Ragnarok : Valkyrie's Descent'.

*BOOM!!*

A huge explosion ensued as a large dustcloud blocked what happened. But soon they saw Blake jump out of the dustcloud and Belserion too could be seen as he slowly rose up. There was a few bruises on his head but seemed no real damage suffered.

Blake sighed inwardly was this was what he had expected anyway. Even without their magic resistance dragons had very durable scales that could hardly be penetrated any type of weapon.

'Luckily whatever they are using to control him made him obey simple commands and prevents him from making any sort of complex thoughts. Otherwise the army wouldn't have survived for so long.', Blake thought as he studied the robotic movements of the dragon. This was in his favour as this means that his moves were predictable and with his speed he was confident he could hold on till Irene finished with her preparations.

'Here we go', with a thought he activated his magic once again and dodged the incoming breath attack and appeared just behind the left wing. He made his left hand into a knife position as magic flowed towards it. In a matter of moments a giant red blade made of magic formed as he tried to slice the dragons wings. 'Ragnarok : Sword of Doom'.

This move was able to slice a mountain in half but against the dragons wings it only managed to cause a small wound as Belserion seemed to roar in annoyance.

Before he could react he suddenly felt a huge force hit him on his ribs as he was sent flying across the battlefield leaving a large crater as he tore through the ground.

Belserion had managed to hit him with his tail while he had tried to cut his wings. Blake shakily stood up and winced while holding his ribs. Although they didn't seemed to be broken, they still hurt like hell.

This just goes to show how terrifying his physical body was that even a dragon's full powered tail strike wasnt able to break his bones.

"Damn that hurt, okay new plan stall as long as you can without getting hit by the walking cheat", Blake said to himself as he quickly charged up a another attack.

He disappeared and appeared below Belserion and exploded with a flurry of punches that looked like he had hundreds of arms due to the sheer speed of his punches.

'Ragnarok : Surtur's fists', His punches were so fast and strong that the friction created fire and looked like he was literally punching with hundreds of flaming hands.

The attack ended with a giant firey explosion and Belserion was thrown a few feet backwards. The attack didn't do much damage but still it was unbelievable to anyone watching as a single man was seemingly going toe to toe with a dragon. A dragon said to be the living embodiment of destruction and nature's fury.

Jung was amazed by the power shown by Blake, had he not obtained the relics to control the dragon than he was sure just that single man was capable of destroying his army.

Draco on the other hand was shocked as the magical symbols coming from the magic circles of the mage was similar to the ones they had found in the ruins. Draco had greed in his eyes as he thought of ways to acquire that magic and combine it with what he already knew and the power of the dragon.

'Soon I will become invincible', he had a wretched smile adoring his wretched face that looked wrong to see as he had so many wrinkles while face seemed to be no older than 30.

Back to the battle between a dragon and a mage. The dragon kept attacking with its tail and claws as well as the occasional breath attack while Blake would avoid all the attacks and retaliate with an attack of his own.

The area where they fought had become a barren land with huge craters everywhere. Clearly the battle was destructive and apocalyptic.

The Battle had been going on for about an hour now and Jung was getting impatient as it seemed that the mage still was going strong. He deiced to end it quickly, "Draco!, Go and help him. It seems we have underestimated his durability."

With a nod, Draco teleported just above Belserion and landed in his head.

Blake seeing the unknown mage tensed up his muscles and prepared himself. Seems that they ran out of patience and now it was time to truly get serious.

With a deep breath he fully released his magic that crushed the area around him and visible cracks went out all around with him as the centre. He had never gone full power as the destruction he might cause was very dangerous. But now wasn't the time to hold back so he was ready to go all out.

'Ragnarok : Godking's Fall'

The red lava like lines across his body seemed to grow even more intense as his hair turned scarlet from the magic and steam seemed to flow out of his mouth. The final technique of Ragnarok magic without destroying his body.

Draco trembled on top of Belserions head. He had no doubt he would die with a single exchange against him, but it made him want the magic even more.

Muttering in a nordic language he activated several magic circles as black lines appeared from the choker that controlled Belserion and like veins climbed across his body.

With this spell, he was able to direct control the power of Belserion. With a quick swipe the ground where Blake stood was blown away but Blake was already behind them as his fists glowed deep dark red, almost black.

'Ragnarok : Destruction Fist'

He rammed his fist straight to the spine of Belserion as the ground beneath caved in.

But had to quickly move away as two giant black smoky skulls with eerily glowing eyes and mouth were summoned by Draco and chased him.

As he was avoiding the skulls, his magical sense warned him of danger as a beam of white light suddenly engulfed him and was sent across the field into a hill and was inserted deep into it.

The beam was so fast he had no time to react. He quickly jumped back out as he warily guarded himself.

The battle continued as he couldn't get close to Draco while they couldn't land much of a hit on him either.

They were at a stalemate but after a while it could seen that the stalemate was not in favour of Blake was his magic reserves were starting to drain and his body was accumulating damages and soon take a tool on his stamina as well.

As the dangerous life or death battle was happening, Blake couldn't help but contemplate about his new life as well as his old life.

From a seemingly normal modern human to coming to the World of Fairytale and now fighting a dragon in a battle that may very well be his last. He couldn't help but ask himself in wonder, "What the hell am I doing?".

Here's a new one. Damn, inspiration doesn't come cheap. Lol. Hope you guys like it. I'm not very good with battle and fighting scenes but hope it was better than my first attempt. Comment on your thoughts as it would help me make the novel better.
