The Chimera

—Atlas pov—

Two months ago. " I-It's a Chimera, everyone run!" " What's a tier 7 dimensional beast doing here?!" The once happy faces of the soldiers turned grim and desperate for survival.

A boss tier 7 beast Chimera it appeared as a lion, with a goat's head sticking out of its shoulder, and a dragons head for a tail. The chimera was said to be near-invincible and could breathe fire.

"Everyone leave the battlefield, and head for home!" Said King Aram with his voice booming across the destroyed forest.

" With soldiers running on foot and on their horses, the Chimera follows them breathing fire and killing everyone in its path. The sound of bones crunching in its jaws, as it swallows the people whole was like another soul lost inside of me." Atlas said inwardly.

You could see the deep stained red blood on it's mouth. "General please save me!" looking behind seeing one of the pleading soldiers getting his body thrown into the air, with its dragon-headed tail.

"We have to get to the fortress, your highness!" Said Atlas. " I know, we gotta try and outpace this Chimera somehow!" The sound of wings flapping, soldiers crying, and screaming in agony filled the burning forest.

" I'll try and hold it off your highness!" said Marcus. "Tero bolder!" Shooting pieces of brown rock and dirt at the Chimera. " Eat this you filthy animal!" Hitting it with two earth-like pillars.

"Raaaaaghhhh!" The Chimera let out an earth-booming roar.

Grabbing and breaking off the pillars with it's talons it charges at Marcus. " Tero shei-" Before he could even finish, the Chimera stabs its dragon-headed tail through his chest.

" We're almost there, we can make it!" But with the Chimera following closely it bits up Atlas's horse leaving him on the ground. " Atlas!"

" Keep going your highness you have to get out of here!" As his last words echo he gets his head bitten off.

Sensing a fiery mana wave coming to him the King tries to block off the fire blast, only to have the Chimera come up and bite his right arm off." "Fuck, its intelligence is too high?"

After the Chimera bites his arm off it flies away, putting the entire kingdom into a state of panic and fear.

A massacre no other way to call it but a one sided massacre. Out of 2,500 soldiers, only the king made it back, even Marcus died fighting the Chimera.

" I'm sorry Aine, he didn't make it back." Crying softly she asks. " What killed him?" " It was a Chimera. I'm sorry it was too strong for us."

Two months later.

" Do we have enough supplies from woyeri?" " Yes your Highness, we also have a replacement for your general, it's Atlas's son Arthur Barlowe."
