A building stood steadily on a tall mountain, almost touching the skies. It was very similar to ancient castles of Greece. In it there were three people with somber expressions each occupied with their own thoughts.
Not long after Sia and Kai left, Leon came back, his head low. His white hair covered his expression, He raised his head and glanced at his wife and moved to occupy the seat close to hers. He spoke
"They have left"
"Mmhm" his father nodded, an indifferent expression on his face. "She will be fine, my granddaughter is strong" he assured.
"Lucifer..." His wife started "Why?"
"Why what?" He said, knowing this was coming.
"Sia's just 19, why will you give her to someone we barely know, why didn't you discuss this with me before hand, why are you treating her like she isn't your blood, why?!" She said breaking down into tears.
Her daughter in-law stood up to console her while Lucifer just sighed.
"I don't know either" he started "But...it isn't me you should direct those questions to, her parents ain't even that worried. Besides I didn't have much of a choice, it was inevitable."
"Inevitable?" Sasha asked sniffing in between tears. She gazed at her son searching his eyes for answers. But still decided to direct her anger to Lucifer when she didn't find any.
"Yeah, you should ask them to fill you in on the details. I just did what was best at the moment, no strings attached." He said standing up and heading for the door.
Sasha stared at him till he was out of sight. She looked at her child with a confused look, then turned to his wife when he showed no signs of raising his head.
"Sarah? Is there something this woman must know"
Sarah averted her gaze with lips parted but no sounds left them. She moved her silver hair behind her ear and spoke.
"It's complicated mum"
Sasha squeezed her brows, forming one thin line on her aged face. Her expression demanded answers.
This time Leon spoke, he seemed to have recovered from the loss.
"I made a mistake... Sia was the only leeway left. And he agreed." He sighed, remembering that day made him grimace.
_
A month ago, near the deep waters of the ocean. A figure walked along the shore with long white hair, seemingly unfazed by the rolling of thunder and sparks of lightening, making a perfect background for the ascension of souls to hell. Surprisingly there was no rain, just those sounds suspense.
She was barefoot with a gown hung loosely on her shoulders. She seemed lost, but still moved forward anyway, how could she not when she came here of her free will. She had fierce determination in her eyes, driven by an unknown goal.
Eventually she arrived at a desolate castle that seemed so out of place and wrong. Her face brightened at the sight of shelter, not knowing the dangers that awaits within. She could continue her journey later.
Sia stepped in, found a suitable place to rest and lay on it. She glanced around, putting her environment to memory and checking for any unknown danger. Before she knew it, she dozed off.
It wasn't long when she started resting that she felt a weight pressing on her palms and feet.
'What the...' she couldn't finish the thought since she suddenly screamed. Quickly gaining her senses, she was shocked by the sight in front of her.
A creature with a body so incorpeal she could gaze past it, was staring at her with it's hollow eyes. It had the faint outline of a human body but was too deformed to be classed as one.
It didn't take a second before she knew what she was looking at.
'A spirit!' Shocked out of her senses she tried to move out of the way but realized to her horror that it wasn't just one. She was sorrounded by spirits with each one scarier than the first. They exuded a presence that added weight to her limbs and made it hard for her to move.
But in the face of true fear she was able to move. Her heart was beating so fast her chest hurt. But that wasn't an excuse for the spirits not to lunge at her. She ran. She didn't know how she was seemingly faster than the spirits but still ran.
'Maybe it's the adrenaline' she thought.
But that didn't last for long. The spirits dearly craved her living soul. They followed her out of the shelter with craziness in their movements and frenzied whispers. She was sorrounded. Again.
She looked behind her and saw the static dark waters behind her. Even the lightning couldn't illuminate what was beneath it.
'No Sia, don't do it. No one has survived these waters, no one!' she shouted in her mind.
But with no option left, She made a crazy decision and jumped into the cursed waters, hardly creating any ripple on its surface. She would rather die later than die now, besides it was possible those tales they were told as kids about the cursed waters were just exaggerations. The spirits halted in their movements, shivered in fear and headed back.
That was not a good sign. But she was happy she was still breathing. She was a water demon so she could breath underwater.
Sia didn't know how long she had been sinking, she was surrounded by never ending darkness with her only source of light being the amulet on her neck.
'That's right! the amulet... but when did it activate?' she wondered in confusion but was reassured nonetheless.
Her father had given it to her with the purpose of letting him come to her in the face of danger.
She patiently waited since it was barely a minute since her life was threatened and just prayed her father will entertain the thought of searching the sea for her. The dark sea was a no-go area for all living beings, even for water demons which are especially adept in the waters. History has it that the waters were cursed as whoever went in never made it out alive. Sia hoped those were just myths though since her nor her father have not actually witnessed such...
Then she smiled. After what seemed like an eternity, she saw a faint silhoutte of a man in the distance.
'Dad' she thought.
But that was not her father.
"My my, one annoying way to wake someone" the man spoke. His voice was quite horse, his features blurry from the veil casted by the darkness of the sea.
Sia shivered in fear, the presence of this man was ringing warning bells in her head.
"Don't fear little cub" he said. With eyes so deep, reflecting her pale face, he smiled. She wondered how it was possible for someone to be in this dark ocean but couldn't finish her thought since she felt a familiar presence...it was her father. But then... Things descended into chaos.
