A required Sacrifice
"She is…..friend?"
Matt was so aghast after glimpsing Sarah's worse condition that he never caught on to someone or something approaching him. He hurriedly looked up to get nearly startled by the situation in front of him.
"Who?.... What are you?"
He asked while his hands, placed on the ground, were ready to act at any second. There was more than anger….a mix of grief and rage in his eyes, which were slowly firming to go insane and revolt against everything here. There was no other way to salvation appearing in his eyes.
In front of him beside the black shriveled tree, a giant of similar size was crouching to talk with his ant-like body. Giant's body was entirely made of shadows but still in that cold and unusual figure, there was a trace of warmth in its eyes, towards Matt.
"Is she….your Friend?"
The giant once again asked in a gentle voice, which prompted Matt to somehow overcome his shattering emotions as he answered truthfully.
