What would happen to that baby since his father was dead? Ava was listed as an anonymous egg donor on the paperwork, as she had requested. 

She didn't want him to go straight to foster care and potentially get locked up to be experimented on if he looked like a fairy. It would be too unfair to be punished simply for being born so his father could die. 

Ian would have loved him if he had the chance to meet him. He wouldn't have had to be alone anymore. 

The baby hadn't done anything wrong and it was going to be punished simply for existing. Yet another thing for her to feel guilty about. 

Ava had so many things to worry about that she didn't even know where to begin tackling them. So she didn't. She let Zeldris hold her until she did cry herself out (at least for the time being) and fell asleep.
